This set is of good quality. The only gripe which is minimal, is that the yellow painted lettering on the weights is already coming off as I opened the box. Other than that, this is a good beginners home quality set.

I've been shopping for a set of weights to add to my new 2" Olympic bar. I shopped around for used ones, and new ones online at various locations. I settled on these. I've been using them for a week now and I really like them. They have hand grip slots that make them easy to put on and take off of the bar. The hammer-tone finish is good and the weights are accurate. The yellow printing is poor, but almost all of the ones that are a good value are. Besides, I really didn't buy them for the yellow printing. I would normally give them 5 stars, but I thought for those that want them absolutely perfect, I'll rate them four stars. I look forward to buying the 25lb set in a few weeks!

I purchased this as an addition to my existing weight set. While adequate for the intended purpose, the plates were packed/shipped with the paint not fully cured (dried), causing the weights to stick and mar the finish. I did not experience this with my original Gold's Gym set.
The resulting cosmetic defects weren't sufficient to inconvenience myself with a warranty replacement.

After deciding to bring the gym "home", I knew I would need to start buying all the plates, bars, etc. Even after working out in the local gyms for over 20 years, I really had no idea what plates, dumbbell's, etc. cost. WOW!!! I had no idea!!! No wonder the gyms in our area charge outrageous fees. Guess it now makes sense. Anyway, I did my research comparing brands such as Weider, Olympus, Marcy, and so forth. It seemed that everyone was about the same price, which was disappointing. I then thought, "I wonder if Walmart sells this kind of thing?". not only did they but their pricing is waaay less than the others I looked at. My first concern was, are these going to be TRUE weighted type plates? After I received them, I used my home scale and yup, sure enough, every single plate was what they advertised. For the price, I have ZERO complaints. Each plate fits the 2 inch bar perfectly. The only thing "Aesthetically displeasing" was that the yellow that is painted on the GOLDS name, looked like it had just been painted on and was kinda runny. not sure if excessive heat in the back of a freight truck would do this but who cares. You are using them to build muscle not taking pictures of them for some magazine. I will now continue to buy ALL my home gym equip. from Walmart!!!

I received my weights on 4-27-12. You cant beat the product for the price. They are not # 1 made plates by any means but they are definitely worth the price for a garage weight room. The only thing I would have liked them to be incased in rubber. They were placed on my Cap 7' bar with no problem. The plates do not have the best paint job in the world but they are adequate for my needs. I have hoped this was helpful. I would buy the samed product again.

These are great the handles make it easier to move them great because you can bulid up to desired weight rather than slapping on a 25 or 45 lbs plate ect cant beat the price for brand new weights and had no problem at all slide right on my olympic bar. Very satified with product.

These weights work just fine. They fit on my bar well, and work like weights should. They are a little gritty inside of the hole to go on the bar, but they are cheap weights so that's what I expected. Overall these are a great value and will work just fine!
