Stack-On Stack-On GCB-8RTA Security Plus 8-Gun Ready to Assemble Storage Cabinet

I purchased this because it was inexpensive, and also the same size as their handgun and ammo cabinet, which is the same cabinet, but with 3 shelves.
For one, it arrived very banged up, and I had to take a mallet and flat iron and bang out the dents and straighten the corners. I then assembled the unit, which takes about a half hour, due to the many screws and tough positions they are in to get a wrench to them.
But the biggest issue is that the gun barrel holders on this are just two strips of foam with notches cut out for the barrels. Basically useless. There is no way to fit 8 guns into this unless they are youth .22LRs without scope, and even so, the foam barrel rests give little support.
I ended up giving it to a friend who keeps 2 shotguns and a .22 rifle in it, but keeps them in there soft cases, because the barrel rails do not work. He says he has no room for a 4th gun.

This is designed to keep honest folks(kids) out and to slow a thief down. Easy to assy, well made, couple bent edges, no big deal, that's the shipper. Was short the lock mech., called Stack On and they delivered the set in 3 days. All in all you get what you pay for. I mounted to wall with 4 lag bolts, and may do floor later. I am pleased, thanks to Walmart and Stack on.

Cabinet came on time, no packing problems (dents, scratches, etc) and included concise assembly instructions. All fittings were included and the easy to read, step-by-step instructions made assembly very easy. I would definitely buy another if needed.

Four of the panels arrived BENT. I straightened them out - but not perfectly.
You might say that is not a big deal. Well, except for the fact that I purchased and paid for a new product, perhaps it is not a big deal. I expect a new product , out of the box, to be in perfect condition. Had I purchased this at a scratch-n-dent sale, I would have no complaints whatsoever.
However, I would venture to say that the shipping company is the one responsible for the bad condition of this product.
I would recommend this product only because I believe the majority of the time it will arrive in new condition.

Takes about an hour to assemble and about half hour to mount to wall. I bolted it to some 2x6's that i drove into the concrete in my cellar. Make sure you oil your guns before storring becasuse it is not air tight

NO HARDWARE!

I got it home and was so excited to put it together. I opened all of the boxes and spread out the parts and got to looking at the instructions. one problem though, there was NO HARDWARE of any kind with it, just the panels. not a bolt, not a screw, not a locking mechanism. i checked for a box of parts, a bag of parts, went over everything with a fine toothed comb. then had my friend look all through it to make sure i wasnt going crazy. nothing! i have my doubts that laying these metal sheets on top of my guns will keep them safe from anything!

ordered on line picked up a store, got home, layed out and seperated all parts and panels. Put together as pics showed. Have plenty of bright light black carraige bolts and black panels. Take your time. Others have said this is "cheap" and was damaged. It"s a light weight cabinet that locks. It will serve it"s purpose. Price was right

This a good cheap gun cabinet. Nothing fancy. Not very secure. But a good cabinet to store things from little hands and to meet requirements for secure storage. Looks better than it is. Ordered online with store pickup. Quick and easy. No problems. Easy to put together. Small. I don't see how you could get 8 guns into the cabinet. But when I can afford 8 guns I can afford a bigger cabinet. What more do you want for a 100 bucks.

I purchased this through WALMART.COM. It is disassembled and I spent an hour and a half putting it together at a leisurely pace. It is what it is; a security storage cabinet with a built in lock. But it is California DOJ approved gun storage.

I was shopping around quite a bit for an inexpensive gun cabinet and found this stack-on model (in black not green) for less than $100. SOLD! It came to me intact with no noticeable damage, scuffs, or scratches. It is perfect for my little collection. Other retailers had this model for $130+ so I am very happy with the price.

If I had wanted a safe I would have bought one. I wanted what I got in this lockable cabinet. Quick adult access if needed, no kid access at all. This won't keep thieves out, but it will keep your kids safe until they can understand gun safety.

product arrived 2 days early, though package was a little beat up; seemed a little flimsy coming out of packaging but gets much more soild with proper assembly. instructions were very good, good illustrations and very specific steps to follow; do youself a favor and get a small adhesive mounted light, i mounted my safe in a closet and couldnt see into the safe at all. for what some safes go for this one is definately a deal, plus is not a fire rated safe, so you can easily move it into place by your self and bolt it down

This cabinet is what it is. Pieces came slightly bent, but easily was reshaped. A thief would be able to get inside this in unit easily with a variety of tools. I bought this to keep a few guns out of the hands of children and house guest. If your guns are worth thousands of dollars, buy a fireproof safe. If you only have a few hundred dollars worth of guns and aren't worried about theft, you can't go wrong with this cabinet.
