I bought this table for my three grandchildren Ages 1, 3 & 4 year olds (particularly 3 and 4 year olds) It is made of strong metal construction (I don't know why description is saying plastic). My grandkids are very rough on stuff and it is holding up. Nice looking too! I just wish I could buy more chairs to match since the 18 month old feels left out. It was on sale for xmas at a very good valu- $39.99 in 2012

I bought this for my 2 year old son for 2010 xmas It looks just like the picture on the site. BTW it only comes with 1 dry erase marker. It is stated on the actual box. The website states 3 but it is only suppose to be 1. Nevertheless, all of my children have had a table similar to this one (the other children are girls) and they have used it up until about age 7. I def know the chair can hold weight up until about 125lbs which is my weight. Beautiful set for Disney Cars lovers. I just wish they sell additional folding chairs for these character tables.
