I was looking for a desk for my 9 year old son to put in his room. It was going to be used for a laptop. I did not want something to big because his room was small. This desk was the perfect size. I was skeptical at first after reading the reviews but I decided to buy it anyway. The desk was a little difficult to put together, material is not the best, and the keyboard is a little hard to pull out. However, it fits my needs and looks good in his room. This is why I am rating it a 4.

The only complaint I have is that it was altogether too difficult to assemble. However, it is sturdy and functional and remarkably economical. I doubt it will be peddled on some futurist version of ANTIQUES ROADSHOW, but it serves the purpose now.

I would recommend this desk for anyone who needs to add a desk to any bedroom, or anywhere where space is an issue. Easy to put together, but it is HEAVY!. Just enough room for whatever you need. The slide out extension for more space is a plus. My daughter loves it. We made it more "girly by adding a hot pink and black office chair. It looks very good together. We also applied stickers on and around the desk. She loves this desk!. Very sturdy too!

It was broken when it arrived, but its okay.

When it arrived, the box had been severely mishandled such that the wood in piece A was broken, though not completely through. The screws were ripped out of the wood (and thus unable to go back in because the holes were too big), and there was a chip in the laminate on the top of the desk piece. It was tricky to put together because of this, but with some extra glue and with some longer screws, and some black sharpie (to cover the patch of laminate that was chipped off the top), it doesn't look too bad. It is relatively sturdy.
