I've been wearing the 8" boots for 2 years and I gotta say they are the most comfortable pair of boots I've ever had.Im a field mechanic in south Tx where summer temps go up to 115 and surprisingly , I have never had sweaty feet nor any other issue with them. Every day I put them thru diesel , oil , sand , chemicals , mud , I even pressure wash them and they're still a pleasure to wear.

Durable Comfortable Boot @ a great price !

I'm a 300 lbs. guy with wide feet. I needed a boot that would support my weight, provide comfort, and be durable. Believe it or not, the Big Timber IIs are my motorcycle riding boots. I bought them 1 1/2 years ago as a cheap quick fix. They've been so comfortable and durable that I haven't bought bike boots. I use waterproof socks when I think it's going to rain. The BT IIs get soaked dry out and keep going. With steel toe, oil slip resistance, and thick abrasion resistant leather uppers, they give me the features of a $400 bike boot at a fraction of the cost. BTW, I stopped to write this review as I was on the Wallyworld site to buy my second pair.

These boots are very comfort right out of the box. I bought my boots about two months ago and I love these boots. After a hard day of work, I normal come home and can't wait to get my work boots off of my feet. I am finding that I am keeping these boots on until I go to bed at night.

This is one of 5 pairs of "work" boots I have purchased from walmart. Lasted less then a month. The sole split lengthwise on the left sole. Very disapointed.

Bought these for my son after his apt. building fire & he lost everything. He said he wanted the exact same work boots he had, which was a pair of these Herman Survivors. He said (if only they had survived the fire) but luckily they were replaceable. He said they are tha most comfortable work boots he has ever had on his feet.

The worst pair of boots I've ever paid money for

I bought a pair of these boots awhile back, they looked rugged and were under $100, so I thought I'd try them out. I'm a big guy (6'2", 220) and on my feet quite a bit and need something that won't fall apart. I made the wrong choice. Only a couple of months after I bought them, the stitching began coming loose at the bottom of the lacing, ruining the waterproofing. Still, I figured I could use them in dry weather, they are, after all, made of fairly decent leather and a heavy sole which should last for quite some time. Wrong again: A few months after the stitching came loose, the right boot developed a "mouth", with the front of the sole completely coming loose from the boot. Not worn, mind you, it's just that whatever glue they used turned loose and now the boots are useless. The soles are barely worn and there are no tears in the upper, it's just that the boots seem poorly made and don't stand up to any amount of use that would be considered normal for someone who would buy a pair of boots like this. They are, after all, "work boots", but can't be actually worked in for more than a short while without them beginning to fall apart. I would have expected them to last at least a year under hard use, or several years with occasional use. I've owned many other brands of boot in my life, and these were by far the shortest lived of any I have ever purchased. A horrible value and it's difficult to believe it's the same boot I've read about in these other reviews.

Review 10 for Herman Survivors - Men's Big Timber II Work Boots, Wide Width
These boots fit and look far better than boots with designer labels at a quarter of the price. They arrived within a few days and fit exactly to size. The height of the boot was difficult to find in the lighter color. I would highly recommend these.

Great pair of boots for the price. I would recommend these boots to anyone needing a comfortable pair of light boots. About 2 years ago I purchased a pair of $200 boots for working in and then my father-in-law gave me a pair of Herman Survivors that he purchased but did not fit him. I have worn these off and on for the 2 years but never to work. Now my $200 boots are worn out and I am using these for work. They are less than half the weight and much more comfortable. I will never purchase another pair of $200 boots again.

I've owned these boots for just about a year and i've used these boots in dirt, mud, water, rocks, poolwater and even the lake water, raining days, and all sorts of distructions that should of had destoryed these boots. IM 15 AND I DO LANDSCAPING that involes stains, water, mud, debris and out of 2 years these boots lasted 10 times more than timberland and timberland pros searies. The landscaping i do is distructive to these boots! meaning it can a hit and no rips or holes after a month or nothing happens for these boots JUST LIKE SURVIVOR BOOTS BREAKER THOSE LASTED 4 1/2 YEARS THROUGH ALL SEASON LONG, AND SO WILL THESE!!!!!!!! Big Timber boots AND HERMAN SURVIVOR BOOTS BREAKER BOOTS VS 6in AND 8in FOR HERMAN SURVIVORS ARE THE BEST!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I work in the construction industry and have tried a lot of work boots. In the past I've always bought Timberland boots because of their durability and quality. I have found that these boots (the herman survivors) are even better. They are comfortable- they last- and they are a great price! Its almost like wearing a pair of sneakers. I will recommend them to everyone I know!

Review 16 for Herman Survivors - Men's Big Timber II Work Boots, Wide Width
lasted 5 months in Afghanistan and still wearable

I bought these from a walmart store (half sizes are available in person- currently not available online).
I wear these every day in Afghanistan. Walking over rocks and gravel, im glad I got the high boots rather than the short ones. I roll my ankle sometimes just walking around the army base, but i have not had any "sore" ankles after the roll.
These boots have been well worth the roughly $60 they cost me, and at 5 months, the inside back is starting to rip/tear, but they are still wearable. I am going to look for a different kind of boot mainly because I have more money now, but for the cost, these are excellent boots!
Id say they are fairly breathable. I do have sweaty feet at the end of each day, but no like some of my co-workers who wear other kinds of boot.
I recommend these boots to anyone!
