I am a 4 year Dyson user. I decided to try something else because I felt like the Dyson just wasn't getting the job done anymore. After reading all the awesome reviews for the Eureka that claims right on the product that it is better than a Dyson for half the price, I had to try it out for myself.
I have a dog and a toddler to clean up after therefore I vacuum often. I thought I had a clean house but after one use I pretty much filled that canister! It was amazing at how much dirt and pet hair it got up using the low carpet setting. I could hear as well as see all the stuff it was pulling up from my carpet.
I love how the canister comes apart. I can rinse and clean virtually the entire thing whereas the Dyson all you can do is clean the big canister and bang the dirt out of the cyclone part which is messy and disgusting and never really gets fully cleaned. With this one all the parts can be rinsed and cleaned minus the filter which you will need to do! Very strong suction with this vacuum!
I wasn't happy with how it cleaned my bare floors however. It doesn’t always pick things up so I may need to play around with the settings a little more, but the carpet was top notch.
The cord could be a little longer. I feel like I am changing plugs a lot when I go room to room but that's not a huge deal.
The upholstery nozzle does a great job. I used it on my couch, chair and stairs and no crumbs were left behind. Very easy to attach and take off. My 2 year old actually figured out how to attach it to the vacuum when we were putting it all together.
It is light weight. I don’t feel like I am straining my back or arm like with other vacuums. It was also very easy to pack up and down stairs.
Another plus is the price. I'm glad I tried it out. You will be too.

Like many others on this site I loved my airspeed AS1000 at first. The whole 4 months it worked. As I was using it last week it just quit. I checked for clogs...let it rest then tried to re-start. It seems like there is something wrong with the on/off switch. It will not even try to turn back on. I called the company and was told I would have to drive it to the closest repair shop approx. 45 miles away. I told them by the time I take time off work...buy the gas for the trip and take it, then repeat the whole thing and pick it up...it would cost more than the $100.00 I spent buying it. They did not seem too concerned about their product not working. I wish I had read the reviews from several web sites where lot's of people were having this same problem. I would not have bought it.

I read all the reviews and had high hopes for this vacuum. I had a two Dysons before it and wanted to have something that worked really well without the price tag. Sadly, this Eureka doesn't fit the bill. I am returning it. At first, I was very pleased with what it picked up on my carpet, but it NEVER picked up anything on the hardwood floors! NOTHING!!! I thought I would keep it upstairs where we only have carpet, but after sweeping up my kitchen hardwood floors with a broom, I pulled out the Eureka to just suck up the dust piles. It literally blows fine dust everywhere. I had a bigger mess around the vacuum! I can't imagine all that it is blowing back out into my carpets. I am quite disappointed in this vacuum.

I used to think this was a passable carpet vacuum, how wrong I was. I have reviewed it on here before, and I mentioned that you could not vacuum hard floors with it, but that was before other problems I've had.
It moderately picks up the dirt, but forget about the edges and hard floors, I have to use a separate shop vac to clean properly.
I can't get through two 10x10 rooms without the vacuum overheating and shutting off. It has to cool down for an hour and a half before I can use it again. As you can imagine, it is ridiculous to have to wait 3 hours just to vacuum the living room, not to mention the rest of the house.
I have to buy a new belt for this piece of trash every other month. I regularly take it apart and clean it. I take good care of this terrible machine, I can't imagine the experience that someone would have if they didn't devote so much time to maintenance like I do. I will never buy Eureka again.

I have now owned this vacuum for over two years. When I first bought it, I had three high school/college-aged kids at home and a golden retriever in the house. I now have the same shedding golden retriever and a husband. This vacuum has stood the test of time. When I bought it, I purchased it due to the fact that it was listed as comparable to a Dyson. My boyfriend at the time owned a Dyson, and I had used it several times. I told him I would put the Eureka up against his Dyson any time. The Eureka has excellent suction. It is hard to vacuum the smaller rugs due to the high amount of suction, but I don't see that as a negative. I highly recommend the Eureka, regardless of how much money you have available for a vacuum. It is no less effective two years later than it was the day I purchased it! If it did fall apart today, I would not hesitate to get another one.

I love this vacuum. We had our first one about 2 years and it worked great. I was kind of grossed out the first time we used it. It picked up SO much stuff! My husband had it in the garage cleaning out the cars and my son accidentally knocked it over and cracked the back. It hit just right and broke the back pipe so that the vacuum lost suction. I loved it so much that we just bought a second one. I can't believe how well it works AND that it's affordable. Buy it, you won't be disappointed.

I bought this vac after a lot of research and read a lot of reviews. Its light weight and sturdy with good power. I wish the skinny nozzel attachment was a bit longer but that's nitpicking. I paid $99 so its a great value. I have 2 dogs and kids so i use my vac quite a bit. I had my last vac for 4 years...we'll see how long this one lasts.

So far I am quite pleased with this vac. I have been a true Hoover buyer for many years but I read other reviews on this one before making the purchase. It is easy to put together and to me a normal weight. The on/off is more of a foot lever and near the handle drop which is a bit odd at first. The settings are easy to use. The info does tell you to clean the filter after every use, I am on the every-other use program, so far so good. I think for the price it is a good buy.

If I had written this review when I first purchased this vacuum, it would have been a 5 star rating. After a year of use, I'm ready to review. I purchased this as a temporary replacement while I got my Dyson repaired. I loved this vacuum so much, that I never did order the part I needed for the Dyson and now left without no vacuums that work. I will admit that this vacuum does pick up as well as the Dyson, but the problem lays in the design. First of all, the attachments constantly fall off, but since I don't use them anyway, this wasn't an issue for me. The hose, on the other hand, is taped to the vacuum because it will not stay in place - which pretty much makes the hose too much of a hassle to use. The placement of the cord is annoying. It's at the bottom and will get run over no matter how you handle the cord. But it's the filtration system that is the biggest flaw. I always maintained this vacuum - emptied the canister regularly and cleaned out the HEPA filter, but it constantly needed new filters! After only a year of use, the bearings on the beater brush completely fell out. I never would have thought that a vacuum would fall apart so completely after only a year of use. I owned my Dyson for 5 years before I needed a new beater brush. If you don't mind spending $100 every year on a new vacuum, then this may be one for you. But if you're looking for longevity, then pass this one up.

I've now owned this vacuum for a year. Initially I was very pleased with my purchase, but over time have become disappointed. I live in the country, where the dust is extreme, and the filter is a constant source of frustration for me. The DCF-21 filter is expensive (~$20) to replace, difficult to thouroughly clean, and smells. Even when I am able to thoroughly clean it, which I found works best by washing it in the washing machine, after just a few uses all of the probelms return. I'm going back to bags!

It's the first vacuum I've had with a stair tool thats easy to use and actually works. The whole vacuum is very nice. I love it. Easy to handle and has great suction. I would recommend it to anyone.

It's wonderful, it picks up everything. It hasn't clogged go lost suction as the bagless container is filling. It picks up everything in it's track. Also gets most of the edges, whatever the vacuum misses the hose gets. It has a VERY powerful hose. A turn off selection from the vacuum to the hose. So while using the hose the vacuum isn't using any air so more power for the hose. What I was MOST surprised about it after about 5 vacuumings I went to clean out the filter and I got out about a cups worth of dirt from it, still without loosing any suction. By the way we're a house of 4 (two being little kids) 2 dogs and a cat.

I now know that I was in need of a new vaccuum, before I gave in to get one. My last vaccuum lasted for years. I thought it was working well, but then it broke. I researched a good bit before I made a purchase. This vaccuum moves so easily that it doesn't seem like it would be sucking well. That is not the case! This vaccuum pulls more pet hair, dust etc than I ever expected could be in my carpet. The handheld brush does not pull pet hair up very well, but the hose with merely then cone piece on it works just fine. It is very very easy to push, is priced very fair and does a great job! I have only used this for a couple weeks so I have yet to tell if it lasts for a long time. The quality of the product does seem great so I do expect it to pass the test of time.

I absolutely love my cordless vac. It is a must if you have dogs and we have two. So easy and it picks up most anything off of bare floors or carpets. Great for throw rugs. I use it every day.

i bought this vacuum 2 months ago, my cat was sheding like crazy, pet attachment head is not that functional. i use little brush for sofas, for the carpet i was using vacuum on carpet mode and it was not doing good for the cats hairs but was doing great for any other little things, anyways, then i tried vacuum on hardfloor mode on carpet, it doesnt use brush that way and i did great on cats hair. Well that saved my life, just 5 minutes and no hair. i love my vacuum and i realy didnt pay alot for this life saver.

I purchased this vacuum to replace a working Hoover Wind Tunnel self propelled vacuum. The Hoover was getting a bit heavy even though it is self propelled. This vacuum has picked up dirt that I didnt know was there. We had a Dalmatian till 2003. I have been picking up this dog hair on a regular basis. I cant believe it.I thought my carpets were clean..WRONG. I love this thing. It glides across the rugs with little effort and has picked up the nap of our 10 year old rugs. The only thing I can say I dont like is the hose needs to be longer. The suction is so good that the hose contracts alot when used. Could use another straight wand, but these can be purchased online. Filters are cheap and machine is very easy to keep clean. Just rinse it out and let it dry. Im so glad I didnt buy something expensive. give this one a try. Its worth every penny.
