i love my new shake weight, but you kind of of have to have a sculpted chest and strong arms to begin with, especially to make it go that fast. i noticed that you can get a similar effect just by simply shaking regular dumbbells. i recommend this product to anyone who wants to get ripped fast (eventually;)

it did exactly what is says it does on the box, videos, etc. i did just the one, six minute workout, and i already felt a lot more strength in my upper body. i have had it for three days and it works excellent.

An attractive item that feels well made. To use the Shake Weight properly requires the ability to keep musical time. That's due to needing to hold the Shake Weight steady, minimizing your tendency to rocky the weight back and forth. Yet, still be able to lift it up and down, near chest level, at an angle, keeping a constant motion (rhythm), for the product to help you achieve your personal goals. Those that are rhythm-less, like me, just need to pay attention to your movements, and maybe playing some music with bass or drum, in the background. At the moment, this item is picked up, when I'm passing by it...giving it a few shakes at a time. I believe in the principal Shake Weight is based upon so, I'm not going to quit. This item has a DVD to bring you up to speed. If you are looking for a two hour video that shows many variations of using your Shake Weight, giving you encouragement, fun music, and a group of folks doing the Shake Weight...this isn't the DVD for you. It's about 10 minutes long, showing a few standing and sitting exercises. All in all, I am Not disappointed with my purchase.

I bought the Gold Gym Shake thing first (cheaper). It made a thumping sound when used.
This Shake thing makes a quieter whoosing sound. I can use it in the morning without waking up the wife.
The DVD that came with it is OK but the DVD that came with the Gold Gym Shake was better.
The DVD that comes with the women's Shake Weight version is lame. My 6 year old laughed.
Both are the same to use but the TV Shake is quieter.
I took away 1 star on features because of the video.
A good workout device but need to supplement CARDIO.
2 day delivery to store very good.

when i first heard about this shake weight i was skeptical about really working. And since i never really trust things that are "As Seen On TV" and i have never bought an item. I wanted to give it a try for myself. When i got it, first of all it shipped fast and the shake weight design its pretty cool. Since i love to workout and have experience on lifting heavy wight i was worried that i wasn't gonna get a good workout since it only weighs 5 lb. So i tried the DVD that came with it and i was amazed how tired and a good workout i got. its been like a week and i already see myself getting more cut up which is what i want. I definitely recommend this to anyone who wants to get cut up and not get big cause you wont get big its just meant to build definition.

Of course I thought that this product was BS. How could shaking it do anything for ya. Sure its not that heavy but your doing so many reps in a short time so you are worn out soooo quick. For the $30 I paid for it I would have paid more. Worth a lot more than they are charing. Especially for the womens version at $20. Do yourself a favor and buy one!

OK... I laughed at the commerical like everyone else did but after having my baby last summer and not loosing all the weight I decided to check this out... I consider myself to be a strong girl so I got the mens when I found out that it only weighed 5lbs.
I really should have got the womens! Even my husband had a hard time doing the 6 minute workout!
But I will keep working at it and hopefully work my way up to the 6 minutes!

I am not sure why you would expect it to be battery operated. It the reflex of making it move back and fourth that makes it work. The contraction of the muscles making the shake weight move.

It doesn't replace regular dumbels but it really works. In a few days makes your amrs look better, but it's better if you combine these excercises with some weight lifting.

the shake weight does not shake up to expectations. I am highly disappointed. I have followed the dvd, and workout program for 2 weeks and have not felt or noticed any results. Spend the $30 on free weights or band weights.

I bought one of these doohickeys with low expectations of being let down by yet another "As Seen on TV" product. I was anything but let down. This thing comes with it's own 6 minute instructional workout video and let me tell you that after 6 minutes your muscles are on fire! I was in the special forces in the U.S. Navy for 3 years and we did hundreds of push ups every day and now I get the same feeling in my arms and shoulders that I did when doing all those push ups just using this shake weight. I take mine to work with me and use it a lot. Just doing a few 30 second reps with this thing will get you breathing heavy. It's totally worth it's weight in gold and I would recommend this to anyone who wants to strengthen their arms, chest, and shoulders. The only downside of this thing is that it takes a little getting used to. If you don't use it correctly it just won't work. It took me about 3 days to finally get the hang of it. Now it's a piece of cake and I get a great upper body workout.
