The Step2 Art Master desk features a large work surface with molded-in compartments. Your toddler will enjoy the raised shelf to store art supplies. Bought this for our 3 yr old grand daughter. Came very fast and in great shape. Had a bit of trouble putting the chair together but finally got it. Went together really fast and she loves it. Even has a lil lite .Should last her at least 4-5 years before it passes on to another grandchild.

I didn't find the damage until I drove it unpacked from CT to VT. I would have returned it but it was a gift to my 2 year old granddaughter. She loved it but I wondered if Ship to Store sends the less than perfect items.

I ordered this for my 4yo son. It arrived yesterday, and it took two adults over an hour to put together! No screw holes, they all had to be punched in, and the wide top blue tray was 2-3" too short length-wise to meet the sides of the desk you're supposed to screw it into! We pushed both sides in as much as possible but you can still PLAINLY see the screws between the sides and the blue tray, making it look pretty tacky. And don't get me started on the chair - we could in NO way shape or form simply "slide" the blue back onto the posts as it's "easily" shown in the illustration. We each took turns trying for the better part of the day, and there is simply no way to get the chair back into the pegs on the posts in order to snap it into place. As a result, we had to DUCT TAPE that piece to the chair posts so that my son has a back to sit against! Again, talk about TACKY! It's way overpriced, either build your own for the money or get a cheaper one of better quality!

We just put this together for my sons 3rd birthday and it is awesome. My son loves it!! I debated on this one and the one with a stool but so happy I got this one with the back, at first we had trouble with putting the back on so we left it just with the seat for a few hours and you can tell he was not comfortable but as soon as my husband figured out the back he was able to lean back on the chair and began to color!! Great buy! a little expensive but definitely sturdy

My son is 4 and loves this art desk. He loves having his own special place with colored pencils and crayons and markers. He is reading now also and he loves sitting down at his desk and turning the light on and reading. This was a great Christmas gift!

Our lil man just loves this desk. He's only 2 so a little young for it but he has his own little place to work, watch tv, read books, eat -- whatever he wants to do. The only thing I could say for his age, it's hard to reach the top shelf but he'll grow into it. We love it.

Would have liked a few more storage compartments and a larger flat drawing area. Not bad for a starter table for my 3 year old. Hard to put together with just a screwdriver but not too difficult. Chair was not as sturdy or large as I expected but it works.

My daughter is getting this desk for Christmas. It's good size for her she is 3. My only trouble was puting it together, you have to create the holes for the screws. A little strength behind the screwdriver it wasn't to bad, only took a short time to put together. well worth it.

My daughter and I picked this out for my 2 year old granddaughter.
"The Step2 art desk includes four large bins to keep sketch pens, paints and other knick-knacks in place." All and all we are both very pleased. My granddaughter loves her desk. It is a bit larger then I thought it would be.

This desk is very sturdy, as well as the chair. There are so many storage compartments for everything your child needs. The little light adds a nice touch. It makes my nephew feel grown up & important. I'm very happy with this purchase! I only wish it was slightly less expensive. When I purchased it for my son 2 years ago, it cost much less.

My wife and I purchased this for our granddaughter who has reached the age where drawing and coloring are becoming a big pastime. It looked like everything we needed in the picture, side pockets to help keep things organized and decent size. Problem is, You Can't get it together. First the chair refused to snap together, I moved on to mounting the light, the screws stripped out, so much for the light. Then most of the molded pieces of plastic to put the desk together, well they are basically molded poorly.
Overall, not worth the time or trouble to even try this.

We went out and purchased an nice wooden (solid wood) desk and chair.
Probably one of the worst things I have ever bought.

We bought this desk for our daughter to do her homework on. She is 6 years old but very tall for her age and she fits perfect at this desk. She has plenty of leg room. She loves the compartments, place for her crayons, and pretty much loves everything about the desk. We are 100% satisfied customers. I would recommend this desk for any kid. She also loves doing art work and this desk is perfect for that. She even accented the desk by placing her Tinkerbell doll on the shelf next to the crayons!

We purchased this for our daughter's 5th birthday. She is very tiny for her age, but it is not too large and will be great for many years. We also use it to do school work on. She really seems to be interested in art and very creative so it is a great toy`. She love, love. loves it. We can't get her to play with any other toys now. The chair must be comfortable, as she sits there for hous and never moves. It is very sturdy and typical of Step2 toys. The colors blend with most decors.
