After reading reviews of other products, I decided to purchase the XXL 550 and WoW am I ever happy with it! Excellent product, easy to program and I can add lots of different voices over the internet. Downloading updates from the TomTom site could not be any easier. The windshield mount works great too. Drove down bumpy dirt roads and it never came loose. Buy this GPS, you'll be happy with the price and performance.

Easy to use, be sure to download tomtom application to get the most of your item. Reliable on everyday use although sometimes the route isn't the shortest one but still you get to where you want to go. Cons: Battery drains out even if you turn off the gps so be sure you have a way to recharge it or you'll be lost.
Summary, i still like it very much, has been a great help for me.

Last year a friend and I both bought Magellan GPS, we both had the same problems- it was always sending us in the opposite direction we needed to go, we both sent them back.
I got a great deal on this tomtom XML, it is so simple to work and has the big 5" screen,
I am so glad I got it. Easy to use and lifetime updates..
Without it, I am lucky to find my way home from the mailbox. :)

I've updated the tomtom 5 times in the past month and it is still inaccurate in finding exact locations. It will get you close to your destination, but most of the time will not take you to the correct address. I have had only one instance where it found the exact address correctly. It works, just not dependable. The highway directions work great, just expect to find the destination address yourself.

I the GPS itself is good but the base is not holding to the windshield and it is hard to attach the screen to the base. I wander why TomTom did not come up with a better design!!

It do not provide the correct directions! I also cannot hear the verbal commons. By the you find out you was supposed to turn a certain way, you already have either missed your turn or end up in the wrong place!

Although this particular GPS is not new in the normal sense of the word - it was manufactured a couple of years ago - it has never been used and is being offered for sale as a close out. You should not let this concerne you as the most important single fact when buying a GPS are the maps it is loaded with, and this is loaded with the most recent maps. Operation is simple and reliable. HAVE AT IT.

The only issue I had was the plug in to lighter socket. The contact pin was too short to make contact with the socket connetion. This prevented me from charging the TomTom. I had a universal connector that had a longer pin, which allowed me to keep the Tom Tom charging while driving. Other than that, it works great.

My only issue was I had to order this product twice. The first one was delivered defective, with the broken piece included in the package. It was good that I could return it at the Walmart store. I ordered another one because the price was so good, hoping this one would arrive complete, and it did! I am very happy with the purchase.

It just dosen't seem to be clear enough to make the right turns before it's to late to correct. I just got back from a long trip to the east coast and it screwed me up about 5 or 6 times. Most times it got me back on track but 2 times it lost me. I had to work out a route on my own. I'm not very impressed but I'll keep it for the price.

This TomTom is just perfect for us we use it almost everyday and its great,the lighting is wonderful and the sound is very clear,I really like this unit,Iam a retired Truck driver,I drove long haul and this unit would have made it a easier navigating across the country. Very happy with this unit.

It's not that user friendly. Bought it for my mom and each step is not that clear so she has trouble remembering what to hit next. Plus you have to press really hard on the screen for it to register your input. And it pops off the mount so easily when you try to adjust it. Not good. Going to try to return it.
