I just purchased this item for my son's 4th birthday, and within a few days of using it I can already what great benefits the Tag reading system has. My son interacts a lot with it and actively reads letters with it! I can't wait to see him reading very soon :)

This pen is amazing my 4yr old loves it! My daughter is in Pre-K and is just learning how to read so this pen is perfect for helping her learn to read. We travel a lot in the car and this pen is great for the long rides we take. I also bought the Flash Card to go with her pen and that too is a great game for beginner readers. My daughter and I our 100% happy with the pen!

My soon to be 5yr old nephew got this for x-mas and the first thing i can say is you will NEED to buy a book or two when you get this. There is only a sample book inside it has a pg out of a few of the different types of books they have. Other then that this is awesome can't wait to have him reading to me!!!!!

I have purchased both the green and purple Tag Readers and both the green and pink cases. I have assigned certain books to pink Tag and certain books to green Tag. This reading program is a great Learn to Read system. I highly recommend it for 1st grade and up. The best thing about it is the book sets. Vowels, Consonants, Blends are all learned in the 1st grade and up. The book sets help kids with what they are learning at school and can be used as a way to reinforce and encourage children to use what they are learning at school at home in their off time. I encourage parents to follow closely the homework and class work on a regular basis and then encourage their kids to use the Tag with the books that correspond with that weeks class work and homework. Make it fun to learn!!!

The item was shipped broken, there were no others available. So I had to return it to the store and purchase something else. I purchased a moblie with the same order, and it was delivered broken as well. I have in the past used this mode of purchasing because it usually works. How ever these last two purchases have made me skeptical.

I bought this for my six year old because he does not like to read. I am trying to encourage him to pick up a book. I bought him the Star Wars book which he enjoys. I also purchased one of the "Learn to Read" series because he has trouble with consonant digraphs. He enjoys them but relies on the tag to tell him words that I know he knows. I think that eventually if he hears these words enough, while following along with the book, that he will begin to rely on the pen less. There are word games too. You do have to go online to download all audio for the books. Not hard, just time consuming. It will hold more of the "Learn to Read" books than the hardback ones.
I also purchased one for my three year old. He really enjoys the Toy Story book. He knows how to use the pen. I am glad I did not get him the Tag junior. He can also read his brother's books. I just had to set up a two children account online to download to each Tag pen.

I bought this for my daughter for Christmas, and then had to buy another for my other (jealous) daughter! The Tag system is simple enough for a two-year-old book lover, and, yet, will still be fun for her as she ages. Forget this system if you have book rippers, though! Though there is a lot to be learned from the books, both of my daughters (2 and 4) just like to hear the strange noises that the book characters make. In fact, it took me forever to show my two year old that there was more to click on in the sample book than the little advertisement for Toy Story! This pen has been dropped and abused far more than it should be, yet it is still functioning (and looking) like the first day we opened it. Every night the girls make time for their Tags! They don't even want me to read for them anymore because they tell me that they can do it themselves now. Ha! Great buy and totally worth it.

She's 3yrs & 9months old, as of writing this, and she absolutely adores it.
Me? Maybe not so much... She has a bad habit of tapping it against the same spot 10 times in a row resulting in the same half a word 10 times in a row.
Oh, okay, I love it too. Because she does, and because it is slowly but surely teaching her a multitude of things. And it will read the whole storybook to her so I don't have to read the same book 5 times in one day.

I bought this product online for my almost three year old. I was a little confused when I got the product because online it said for ages 3-8, but the box said ages 4-7. My daughter is too young to understand most of the games and educational things, but she loves to have the pen read her the story. I like that the pen has an auto shut-off if she forgets to shut it off so I don't have to replace the batteries frequently.
