The Nostalgia Electrics 4-Quart Ice Cream Maker gives you a homemade ice cream experience with modern convenience. Simply fill the ice cream maker's plastic bucket with ice, place the aluminum canister filled with ingredients in the center of the bucket, and the electric motor does the churning for you. Soon, delicious ice cream is ready to serve. This blue ice cream maker makes four quarts of delicious, creamy ice cream per batch.
This traditional ice cream maker is easy to use. The user's manual is quite helpful. We have only used it once, but are quite pleased with how easy it was to use and how well the ice cream came out. Our children were pleased with the end product and I would suggest this to anyone wanting a wonderful product for a good price.

Review 4 for Nostalgia Electrics 4-Qt. Plastic Bucket Ice Cream Maker, Blue
I needed a new ice cream maker after my last one bit the dust. I looked online at Walmart and Target and finally settled on this one after reading the reviews. Got it, loved the colors. I gave it a 4 rating for basically two reasons. It does NOT have a fill line marked inside the canister - that was disappointing. Secondly, the motor just sits down in the holes instead of clicking in....so far that hasn't been a problem, but I would rather it be "locked" into place. However, everything else we are very pleased with and are looking forward to making LOTS of ice cream!

Review 5 for Nostalgia Electrics 4-Qt. Plastic Bucket Ice Cream Maker, Blue
I have used it twice now, my first two batches of ice cream and both came out flawlessly. I got some recipes off of the internet and followed the directions for the maker and both times I got premium, delicious tasting ice cream. So easy!

After retuning one that was about $5.00 less I can tell this one is going to last me for a while. Made excellent ice cream. And get ready all your friends are gonna ask you where you got it. Hey Walmart of course.

Review 9 for Nostalgia Electrics 4-Qt. Plastic Bucket Ice Cream Maker, Blue
I had amazing results with this machine. I thought because it used ice instead of a fancy cooling system, like more expensive products, it would give subpar results; I was wrong. The cooked cream based ice cream I made came out smooth, with no ice crystals. It had the texture of gelato from the finest shop right out of the machine. I put the finished product in the freezer with ice underneath and four hours later I scooped into it and it was perfectly hard--the consistency you would expect from an ice cream store. I write this review for the exacting home chef who seeks good performance without gimmicks.

I bought this for my kids. I was considering a higher priced machine until I saw the reviews on this one. And did I ever make the right decision! It is AWESOME! Got here FIVE days earlier than expected and ship to home was ONLY FOUR DOLLARS! I just can't believe what I got for the price. I'm just amazed with it. After using this machine and seeing how good it is if I had to pay twice as much to get this machine, I would. It only took 35 minutes to make one batch! I have NEVER made ice cream before. Our very first batch of ice cream turned out perfect. We used the very first recipe in the booklet that comes with it but it called for chocolate and we wanted vanilla so we substituted and it was SO good! I can honestly say it is the BEST ice cream I have ever had! My mother said the same thing too. Everybody loved it.We had 6 people and 3 of them had 2nds, my son, he had 3 bowls. And that didn't even take half the ice cream. There is still quite a bit left! And the container is designed so that you can use the canister to store your ice cream in. We plan on making a batch every Saturday.I highly recommend this machine! If you get this machine, you WILL NOT be disappointed.

Review 12 for Nostalgia Electrics 4-Qt. Plastic Bucket Ice Cream Maker, Blue
I haven't had this machine for long and have made ice cream about 3 times so far. This machine works great (followed instructions as listed) and has not given me any problems. I tried the Vanilla Ice Cream recipe, but didn't care for it, so I probably will not attempt any of the other recipes listed in the booklet. This is a good machine and worth the buy, especially on clearance :).

I would give this 15 stars if I could, and I am not easy to please. I believe its much better than the Rival brand sold in the stores. Clean up was a snap and the bucket handle really comes in handy for carrying, especially since I dump the salt and Ice in my drive.

Review 14 for Nostalgia Electrics 4-Qt. Plastic Bucket Ice Cream Maker, Blue
There are many ice cream makers on the market. I chose this one as a birthday present to a kid based on the reviews I read online. It was a great choice! The very first batch turned out great, and everyone was pleased. The process was easy and so was cleanup. I think it will be used frequently.

Review 15 for Nostalgia Electrics 4-Qt. Plastic Bucket Ice Cream Maker, Blue
I was really excited to get my ice cream maker, and after reading the excellent reviews I was sure it wouldn't let me down. . . . Unfortunately it did. After mixing my ingredients together and following instructions very carefully I plugged it in and excitingly watched as it started to churn. My excitement was short-lived when after a whole minute it ground to a stop and smoke started coming out of the motor! Not wanting to waste all the ingredients I had just mixed together I blew on the top to cool it down and after 5 minutes plugged it in again. And the cycle continued. One minute of churning, stop, smoke, rest for 5 minutes, start again. Sadly I will be returning it. It's possible I may have just got a lemon, but I really don't feel like taking a chance on another one.

There could have been a couple of reasons why.
Posted 05/13/2013
Getting a lemon is possible with any product you buy, so it could have been that. But also, the ice that goes in the machine have to be small. But If i remember right in my instruction booklet if there is a problem with the ice, say if it gets jammed, the machine is supposed to shut off. I would imagine that is a safety mechanism to prevent over heating. Mine works great, it hasn't even shut off one me ...yet (knock on wood). So, it is possible that you did get a lemon.

Review 16 for Nostalgia Electrics 4-Qt. Plastic Bucket Ice Cream Maker, Blue
First time making home made icecream..... should have made half the recipe for the first attempt.... the 2nd batch was so good ...so worth making it. Homemade icecrean is not cheap but, tastes much better than mass produced.

Review 17 for Nostalgia Electrics 4-Qt. Plastic Bucket Ice Cream Maker, Blue
This ice cream maker is perfect! It's not too big, but does make a lot of ice cream. It's simple to use, quite a bit easier than I had expected. We used one of the recipes included and it was delicious! I would definately recommend this to anybody looking to make their own ice cream. One of the things I liked best is that it uses ice and rock salt. That's a lot easier than other ice cream makers that I have seen. The ice cream comes out soft at first, but after putting it in the freezer (in it's own bucket with lid) it hardened up and was a nice texture. 2 thumbs up!
