I am not a TV fanatic and I wasn't looking for the best of the best, BUT, this TV is a very good value, even though it has such poor sound quality. It was super easy to set up after I mounted it on the wall - it's light enough to make that a one-person job. There are plenty of adjustments if you're not happy with the colors/tones/brightness/contrast etc. I only tweaked the brightness slightly because I have it in my workout room and like to have the window open. I attached a small DVD player to it without any problem.

Great picture, slower turn on than older TV ...
It does needs firmware update to be compatible with cable and satellite remotes
just go to:
http://www.elementelectronics.com/remoteupdate.html
its easy instructions if you can get to the USB in back.
will keep nagging them about update for volume since lowest is still loud

I've had this TV for about a year now, and at first it was a great TV, but now the picture keeps going in and out. no matter what I do. I tried calling Element's service number and the number doesn't work. So now I have to try and get it fixed through the Walmart Care Plan and that will take forever. This really is not that great of a TV. It's one of those hit or miss things I believe. You could get a great on or a dud. I got a dud.

The quality of the picture is excellent with no dead pixels anywhere. It is sharp, crisp and clear. I use it for Blu Ray, 1080p HD and NetFlix and it does superb on all. I am quite happy with it and would buy another one if I needed one. The sound is however nothing special but then I didn't expect it to be.

Major problem-mounting to wall

One major problem was getting a wall mount that would fit the product. The one I ordered with the TV was too small. I finally used an old wall mount that I had and built an adapter to fit the holes on the back of the TV. Other than that I am quite pleased with the TV.

I was very impressed with the quality of the Element LCD. It was cheap, delivered quickly and free. It works perfectly and exceeded my expectations for this price range. The picture is outstanding and the settings allow you to tweak the set to your preference. I was really amazed by the 2 channel sound from the TV. It is actually very good. For the value, you will be hard pressed to find a 1080P LCD that has a better picture.

I ordered the tv online. I got the tv really quick. Thank you wal-mart for that. Pluged everything in and notices a bright white line that would run across the top of the tv every few seconds. Called wal-mart and got a new one sent to me within days. The second tv did the same thing but lower on the screen. Will not buy another element tv again!
Also the 1080 looked strange (could never get the setting right). The 720 looked great as did any football game!

Previously paid twice as much for same size 1080p RCA that only lasted 4 years. Replaced it with this one--used in our bedroom. Read the reviews beforehand and was prepared for a couple of issues. So far I am very impressed with the picture quality/sound/features. I did add the extended warranty, just in case.

Not great TV

The TV came right on time, but the screen had a blotch on the inside that could not be cleaned off, so I will have to return it. I went to Walmart today and they assured me that even though I no longer had the box, they would take it back for a credit or cash return.
I ended up spending $250 more on a SONY, which should be delivered within a week. When I get it, I will return the Element.
The other problem was that Comcast remote doesn't turn the Element on, so I've had to use 2 remotes...The Element to turn it on and the Comcast to choose channels.

Bought this LCD HD TV for my 90 year old dad,
who had an old box TV he could hardly see.
He loves the quality of the picture and the sound,
especially for all the sporting events. Big thanks to Walmart for a quality product.

First HD TV I ever purchased

My son kept bugging me to replace my 22 inch analog television, trying to increase the quality of my life. So we checked out LCD HDTV televisions at Best Buy, Sears and Walmart. I picked one, he picked one, and we decided to go with his pick of the Element 32 inch with 1080p. (He is more electronics savvy than I.) I bought it online sight unseen, and had it delivered to the Walmart store closest to me, since there were none on display or stocked at the store.
My son and I set it up, and we were off to the races. Clear picture all the time and easy to setup. I am also very impressed with the sound clarity. I wear two hearing aids, and I DO NOT have to turn up the volume with this Element television like I did with my old set.
Voices, music and other sounds are clear as crystal at all volume levels - even low. I have to admit I now watch more television than I did before, which was about 2 hours a week. Television, except for the long ad runs, is much more enjoyable with this superb Element television. Thank you, son. Thank you Walmart.

My only suggestion, is with the way that the base
unit attaches to the tv. Instead of locking into
the base, there are 5 tiny screws used to attach
the two pieces together. It doesn't fit tightly
together. I suggest using some super glue
around the edge of the base, then use the 5
screws. Definately a default on this tv set.
Otherwise I like this unit, good sharp picture.

Decent

The picture is really good when it's an HD channel or dvd w/the HDMI hookup. But the sound is sooo loud. Another negative, I can't sync it with my DishTV universal remote.
The volume is so loud that my tv is constantly only on "1" for volume because it's so loud. I really feel there should be a few steps of volume prior to "1."
The picture isn't so great with non-hd channels. I'm frustrated that I bought a 32 inch tv and the channels all only show as about a 22 inch picture. I could zoom, but it already looks like the graphics of a really slow internet video.

Disappointed

OK, I purchased a Panasonic to use as a computer monitor, but it was only 720p. I learned that you need 1080p for that, so I found this monitor for the same price.
Plus, Walmart got it here faster than anticipated, so that was awesome.
The first one I got had an annoying line of dead pixels. I contacted Walmart and they were gracious about sending me a new one before I had to return the first.
The replacement also has a bad pixel. It's not dead, but it is always "on." Bright screens are fine, but whenever there is dark scene, there is an annoying bright dot.
Another thing, the picture quality is good, and I have a REALLY good graphics card. But for some reason, the picture quality is better at 1440x900 at 60Hz instead of the full 1920x1080 at 120Hz so that's a bit disappointing... I can set it at the higher level, but the picture quality actually hurts your eyes.
I'd be satisfied with it, but there are more "name brands" that boast the same quality for almost the same low price (within $20), so I think I am going to return it.
