Turns out this tv is actually 1080p. The sound is great I usually don't go above 5 it is loud enough for me. I have this in my bedroom. I used the DVD a couple of times and it worked fine. Also loved that you can plug in a USB drive and watch videos or pics from your drive.

I was a little skeptical about this TV at first but decided to give it a shot. All I needed was a TV and a DVD player for our kids play room. We do not have nor want our satellite system hooked up in there. This was a perfect fix to our problem. The picture is good but not hi def without a cable box or satellite hooked up to it, but perfect for what I needed it for. I see no problem with sound either like in other reviews. I am very happy with my purchase.

I was looking for a TV with a built-in DVD player for a secondary room and this one caught my eye. I was hesitant to go with a brand I never heard of before, but the positive reviews on this site convinced me. They were right. The picture quality is excellent with just the regular cable box from Comcast (not HD). The TV has all of the possible connections you could ever need. I had to do the software update process in order for my Comcast remote to work and that was very easy to do from the Element web site. The DVD quality is very good. The sound quality is fine and plenty loud (even when using a treadmill in the same room). I highly recommend this TV - great price and quality.

The TV is a very good value for a bedroom. I would not recommend it for your main viewing TV. The picture was a bit washed out and the dvd will not go in before the source is changed to DVE. Also, the DVE goes in with the label facing back. However, you can bit the value.

This Flatscreen is waaaay more then I exptected! I purchased this flatscreen because of the low price $299 bucks. I did not realize there was a DVD player inside of the flatscreen. I went to go hook up a DVD player to the flatscreen and my ten year old son said mom this TV already has a DVD player in it. My son also made me aware that we can watch 3D movies on this television as well because it is a HDTV. This goes to show how well I am up on technology. The color is excellent and the sound is very loud. You only need to have the volume on the second notch and you can hear it nice and clear. There are so many nice features with this flatscreen. It was very easy to hook up. There is a one sheet picture card that shows how to hook the TV to your cable box. It was really simple, I did not have to read the instruction book, the picture card guided me right through. I did read that the picture bulb inside of the TV last about 50,000 hours, which calculates to about five years if left on constantly. Being that we turn the TV off during school hours and late at night, I predict the bulb should last at least eight years.

Best I can tell, so far, I'm very impressed. The TV was a great bargain and I love the picture & sound. Only problem at all is trying to get the universal remote to function with my cable (DirectTV), the TV, and the DVD player. No surprise there tho, and not too inconvenient. Really a great deal on this TV/DVD player.

The picture quality on my 32" Element was great, for about 5 months. Then something with the interlace went screwy and now I have small vertical lines all over the screen. Called Element's service center one week ago and am still waiting to receive an email telling me where I have to pay to ship the TV to, to have it repaired!!! I will never purchase another Element product, and advise everyone else not to buy one either.

I am very happy with the purchase of this TV. I use t in my bedroom and the picture and sound quality could not be better. When I got this, the intent was to pair it up with my surround sound stereo system. After watching it the first night and realizing that even on "1" volume setting the TV was loud enough I decided not to do that. Lastly, the DVD player in it is cool too. I love the way it reinserts the DVD after a minute or 2 if you don't take it out.

I'm not really a big TV fan, but use the TV as a computer monitor and screen for streaming movies. The image will look better on this TV when I get an HDMI cable to drive it. The volume on this unit is much higher than on my earlier Element TV. The unit was much lighter than I imagined, which made it move maneuverable and easier to place high on a dresser or wallmount. For the price, the value can't be beat. I haven't used the DVD player (built-in) yet, but anticipate it working well. I marked this unit down just a tad because of the headphones jack being on the back in a difficult place to get to. The arrangement of all the jacks could have been better, but most people only need them for setup. I use the headset quite often, so having to grope to find the jack is a nuisance.

Straight out of the box the remote control worked intermittently. Changed the batteries several times but it wasn't that. For now, it's working but may need to request a new one. The picture is good, sound is good.

We purchased this unit for our guest room, for winter house guests, and were very happy with the quality, features and price. It is a little bit fiddly to operate the DVD player by remote, but it is possible. We also found that we had to upgrade the internal software in the set to get it to work with our COX cable remote, but after doing that everything works perfectly.

We had a 15 year old t.v. in our bedroom and finally upgraded to the Element 32". It was easy to get set up. We were happy with the sound and picture (but we aren't too picky about those). Life was great til the next morning we turned it on and it was a blank screen. You could hear the sound but couldn't see a thing. There's another review that states the same thing happened to them.
I've read all the reviews, it seems like a hit and miss thing with this t.v. I think we'll spend more money on another t.v. so that in a year when it goes out we haven't wasted our money.

We bought this TV for our son's room and it works perfectly. Quality of picture is good (not great, but definitely worth the money). We have had no issues with the sound either. The remote is simple and easy for our son to handle. No issues and I would buy it again for a different room if necessary.
