Have only had a couple of weeks but works very well and is solid and well designed. Toaster gets hot enough on setting 2 for normal-dark toast. Even level 3 burned normal bread. Have not tried with bagels or defrost so don't know about that.

I had an Oster that gave me fits. It never toasted evenly. I figured the T-fal had to be better. I needed a 4 slice toaster that would fit in a small area, left to right. Anyhow, this seems to work OK. However, the "1" setting doesn't toast the bread enough and the "2" setting toasts it too dark. So, I still have to watch it by setting it on "2" and not letting it go the whole way til it pops up by itself, or set it on "1" and then push it down again and watch it and stop it manually. But, I guess I will live with it, cause there aren't any other 4 slice toasters that fit the space.

Does not toast as well as I had anticipated based on others reviews of it as being "the best toaster I have ever bought." I have only had it for a week and lots of breads have been overdone or burnt trying to figure out the right settings. It may take a while to find our the best settings for different types of breads, but if the burning continues I'm thinking of returning it.

I like to buy artisan bread that has long slices. My old toaster is a T-Fal and it lasted a looooong time. 8+ years. I just wanted something to toast the full slice without having to rotate it. They count down feature is cool albeit a bit unnecessary. It toasts evenly and has a lot of functions that are usable like the defrost, bagel, etc.

I was leary about buying a toaster online but the reviews this toaster had made the risk easy for me. I absolutely love the simplicity of this toaster and the four slots being side by side was perfect for the small area I have for it. The look of the toaster fits with all my appliances but better yet....this toaster toasts bread to perfection every time. I'm waiting for it to pop up like most do and the bread is either half burnt or not toasted enough. Not this toaster, it toasts the same way every time. I love the small bread pop up too. You don't have to go digging around in there to get the toast out. Just simply lift the lever up and the toast is at the top of the toaster to remove easily. The choices for bagels, defrosting bread and warming bread is great and I love the digital choices for toasting. I would recommend this toaster to anyone.

Would rate all at highest level but have only had it for a couple of weeks. Used apprx. 6 times and so far well pleased. But a bit pricey for a toaster. If it last for quite some time...then it's worth it.

Long slot is a must for good bread. So far, so good. Has made some great toast and pleased with build quality. I wish slots were just a little wider but they are wide enough for 99% of what I normally toast. I also wish the "lift-up" lever lifted up just a little more to get small slices out easier. I woul recommend and buy again.

I bought this toaster to replace a toaster oven, the T-Fal 4 slice toaster is very fast and evenly toasts the bread, and uses much less counter space. The toaster oven has been relegated to the pantry. :-)
The T-Fal 4-slice toaster also addresses another concern, we make our own whole grain / whole wheat bread and the slice width varies from loaf to loaf. The T-Fal 4 - slice adjusts to just about any thickness that we cut the slice and the width of the two slots in the toaster allows us to toast four slices at once unless it's an unusually big loaf.
The look of the unit is sleek and contemporary, and the black plastic body stays cool to the touch, so no burnt fingers. :-) The controls offer plenty of flexibility and are easy to use.
All in all I am very pleased, it's a quick and easy to use toaster with large capacity slots, and is easy on the eyes.
I would highly recommend this toaster.

We think we got a lemon. Something weird with the heating element. It burned everything along the bottom from the first toasting. Didn't matter what the setting. Took it back to the store. Now trying to find another. I have no luck with toasters. :(

I have had a tfal two slice toaster in the past that worked well so when i saw this one i thought i would try it. I love it. It toasts evenly and perfectly to my desired setting depending on the bread i am toasting. Have not toasted a bagel yet but see that it is adjustinle so should work fine. The long slots are great for the artisinal bread.

I had previously purchased the GE 4 slice side to side, but was always having to cut my bread to fit the slices in, so it really wasn't a 4 slice? Although this one is longer, it does fit a whole slice of bread in and also has wide slots. I only really make 2 pieces toast at a time so it works great for me. I am still getting use to the settings Raisen Toast is a 1, Regular Bread 2 or 3, English Muffins 2, Rye Bread 2, after you figure out that first slice of whatever then you are good.
So far have only had it for about a week, but it works great for me, I would recommend it.
