The Thumblok helps keep your thumb and fist positioned correctly to avoid injury. The full padding used on the wrist of the black boxing gloves makes it easy for him to learn the proper punching technique. The dense two layer foam allows the gloves to absorb the shock. They are very comfortable to wear and conform to the shape of the fist. The Everlast 8 oz boxing gloves feature a wrap-around Velcro strap and thumb-lock for firm and secure grip. I bought two pairs of these gloves for my son (5) and my daughter (7). They love them. They are little big for my son but he'll grow into them very soon. They are perfect size for my daughter. They are easy to get on with the velco strap and they look nice. The gloves are not too big or overstuffed so you can get hurt if not careful. Still I like them as they are typical of real professional boxing gloves. Lastly, I like the mesh underside to help with air circulation. Great price for nice gloves for the kids.
