I made 5 hard boiled eggs in the Egg Genie. They came out perfect. The measuring cup tells you how much water to put in. The machine beeps when it is done.

Being English we appreciate our soft boiled eggs. Dont have my egg coddlers any more and this device is perfect. The eggs come out primo! Makes perfect soft, hard and poached eggs in a snap.

Great little appliance...perfect eggs every time..uses very little water..clean up is so fast and easy...would be a good idea if they could make one to cook up to a dozen eggs, as we have a lot of get togethers and family reunions...but still a great little gadget !!!!

I had been wanting one of these since the infomercial. I've taken risks before with other products. Not all perform up to standards. My sister had gotten one a few yrs back and continues to enjoy hers. So, I gave in. I love tuna salad and now I can make it wonderfully every week. And, besides poaching, it can steam a small amt of veggies, too. I love it.

The instruction manual does not explain the measuring cup diagram clearly. What denotes
soft boiled and poached eggs? I assume the clear egg shape is for hard boiled eggs. Strange they did not include this instruction in their manual. Please help! Thanks

I can't tell you how many pots I've burnt up boiling eggs over the years.... luckily I haven't burnt the house down.
LOL . I bought the egg genie online and had it shipped " site to store" . took 8 days to get there........ that's okay as this thing works great. hard, medium or soft boiled. the key to consistent egg done ness is the measuring cup, getting the right amount amount of water for the number of eggs you are cooking. the lines on the cup are small for anyone to see. if you are old it's worse.......
I will purchase the egg genie again if and when this one wears out. best price ,site to store .walmart did it right.
the reason I gave four bars on expectations:
1. poacher has to be sprayed with cooking spray and they are odd shaped for a poached egg.
2. unit needs an on off switch.

My first attempt yielded the correct time for 7 hard boiled eggs. This product was well worth the price, looks nice and works great. The eggs even peeled without having to run them under flowing water!

ordered this site to store. it came in excellent condition, and i used it right away. i made the mistake of plugging it in right away, my mistake, the directions specifically warn how to use it properly. ha ha. oh well, no harm done, it just buzzed like a little alarm. i followed the directions, and was able to make hard boiled eggs, and soft boiled eggs, and they turned out great! you put the water in, pierce the eggs, plug in the unit, and just unplug again when it starts buzzing. then let it cool, and rinse the eggs. that's it. easy peasy.

This is the easiest way to make poached and hard boiled eggs I,ve found!! I haven,t got around to making soft boiled eggs yet.. Just follow the directions and it does the rest. You have to adjust it a little if you take the eggs directly out of the fridge but it,s not a problem.. Glad I bought this!!!

I purchased on to make eggs every morning. It worked well for a few month and then it stopped working. Since it was so cheap, I decided to by another one think the first might have been deffective. The second one lasted less than a month before buzzer and light failed.
