Easy assembly and our 4 year old LOVES it! He is average in height and still has some trouble pedaling, but he'll grow into it. He loves it because he can join us for long rides without getting tired.

Just finished a 66 mile trek through part of Yellowstone National Park and the co-pilot was a huge hit. Our 5 year old was able to enjoy the landscape firsthand and feel like he was part of our group. Great buy! Highly recommend. Very sturdy, but a bit heavy. Well worth the money!

Notice that my ratings for this product were all average. That is because you get what you pay for. That being said, this was cheap and actually exceeded my expectations. Do not expect top quality for this price--but it works and will last fine for a season, maybe two.
First, our bike is a tandem Trek and we needed a way to take along our five year old. He loves it and so do we. The price was worth it just to find out if the tag-along set-up would work and that everyone would enjoy it. It does! Next year we will upgrade to a nicer model with better construction and gears. But at this point our son would not know what to do with the gears if he had them.
It has been safe at all times, even when scrubbing his pedals going too fast around turns. He can coast and sightsee or pedal and contribute when the speed is low enough--such as going up hills.
The Co-Pilot arrived about four days after ordering and cost no more than $75 even with shipping. The flag fell off early, then the flagpole broke. Check all fasteners yourself before using even though it comes assembled. Replace the attachment nut/bolt with a grade 8 tractor pin for tooless ease of disconnect from your motherbike.
All in all--great deal for price.

I have two granddaughters. One is 7, the other one is 4. Like most kids, they love to go on bike rides but lately the older girl has been frustrated by the youngers inablility to keep up on her 12" sidewalk bike. I happened to be at St. Simons Island, Ga. a few weeks ago and saw a small child riding on a trainer behind her father and thought that this would be a great solution. After doing some research, I found trainers listed as high as $300 but they didn't look like there was any more to them than the $80 unit available at Walmart. I ordered the bike online and it arrived in a couple of day's. After some simple assembly, my 4 year old is riding high and loving every minute of it. Now my older granddaughter can ride as fast as she wants without having to stop every couple of minutes to wait on me and her younger sister.
I read the reports that others had listed about the mounting clamp turning on the seat post. Although I havent experienced the problem as sever as some others, it does tend to move some when the mechanism gets bound up, like when trying to back the rig up out of the garage. I have tightened the clamp to the point that I fear stripping the bolts but because the seat post is smooth, and the inside of the clamp is smooth, there just isn't enough friction there to keep it from moving. I think I will try to drill and tap the clamp and install a set screw. That should keep the two mated up without any chance of it spinning.
Other than that issue, and I don't think it's a deal breaker, my 4 year old absolutely loves this thing. The first words out of her mouth when I get home everyday are "Papa...Let's go!

My 3 year old son loves to go biking but isnt as fast as his bigger sister or us parents and would tire quickly on longer trips. this trailer bike works great, he cannot quite pedal because he doesnt reach the pedals all the way, but he loves to ride on it and we can all get our exercise! it is a bit heavy to pull but it just adds to the exercise factor.

Perfect option for my son who has outgrow the bike seat that attaches to my bike, but has not yet learned biking safety like watching for cars, etc. We are able to go for those family bike rides like we used to. Love this product!

I spent about two or three months looking for a used one on CL and other local sites. This one was cheaper than the used Trek or Schwin versions are USED! It took me about 20 minutes to get it on the bike with the help of my 4 year old. It rides smooth and is, to my delight, not cumbersome like the bike TRAILER was when I had it on my bike. Once I get started, my four year old can do most of the peddling, which means less for me! My 8 year old loves it too.
We did have to take the reflector off to get the seat low enough for my 4 year old.

I bought this for my nephew (who was born with Spina Bifida and Bilateral Club Feet), hoping that it was everything the description said. It arrived in 4-5 days. With everything safely wrapped, and to my surprise everything was greased!! This made assembly about 10 mins. Since his physical disability did not allow him to ride a bicycle with training wheels, this Co-Pilot Bicycle IS HIS DREAM COME TRUE!! He was finally able to ride a bike like any other 7 year old without tears of frustration because of his feet not being strong enough! He can take a break if he gets tired and still keep up with his 5 year old brother!! I know he is safe and that hes not going to fall into traffic. This is the best thing I ever bought!! WE LOVE IT!! THANK YOU!!!!

My son is 6 with autism. He has always loved bikes but was not able to ride alone. This bike is the best thing ever!!! He loves it and everyday after school we go for a ride. I put this together my self in less than 1/2 hour and my husband tightened everything up when he got home.. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!!! :) :) :) WE ARE ALL HAPPY WITH IT!!

This is a great attachment. We love being able to go on longer bike rides with our son who is 4. The only issue we've had with this attachment is the description says for ages 4 and up however it is slightly big for our son who is 42 inches tall. He fits on the bike and enjoys the ride but he cannot actually pedal yet, he needs another inch or two to be able to pedal. This is with all the adjustments at the smallest. This attachment is easily taken off to put away or so that you may use the adult bike by itself. All in all a good investment!

This is sturdy and I did not worry about my son on the bike, but I cannot no matter how hard I tighten get the bracket that connects to my seat to stay straight to align him directly behind me. It does allow for movement, but I'm talking about the short piece that hooks on the seat. It hooks on with an allen wrench and I have gone as tight as I can go, but it still moves to the side when we ride and even causes my bike seat to shift to the left. That's our only draw back. It will make you exercise that's for sure when you pull your child. You can feel you are pulling, but it's not a big problem. It's great he can ride behind me and get used to bike riding, which he has not done yet. He screamed a bit at first (just non trusting) but he also acted like he wanted to keep doing it. Just to take a couple of more rides to get him used to. It is well worth the money and a great idea. I just have to figure out how to get it to stay tight to the seat post so we're not adjusting all the time. Just keep a check on it before each time you ride. It won't fall... it just gets a little loose & pulls on my seat, causing it to shift.

This is perfect for my six year old and I for long distance riding! I get a great workout and she has a fun ride home from school! And she loves hearing all the kids that we pass say "Look at that bike! That is so cool!" There is a definite weight difference when she is on the bike with me and not peddaling, but that is understandable.

My 3 year old son and I love the wee rider. We are able to go on long bike rides together and I know he is safe on the back of the bike. It is sturdy and well worth the price. We looked at other ones that were just as good and were up to $200.

Overall this has been a pretty good bike. I waited to use it through the summer before I rated it. this is the best value for the price. My son is learning to ride a bike because of this co pilot. I would recommend getting another hitch to switch back and forth between bikes. It is a pain to switch between my husband and my bikes without the second hitch. The hitch does come loose after a bit of riding but it isn't a big deal to tighten it back up. Overall you can't go wrong with this bike.

The product looks nice (a bit heavy). But the free wheel hub seems to be a recurrent quality issue from many reviewers.
1. Assembly: was easy and intuitive. (But I'm a handy man#. But the user manual is unclear. The required hexagonal ranch is not included.
2. The free wheel : was hard to turn and, after 5 min of ride, a terrible 'grind' or jarring noise came from the free wheel. I stopped before it blocked..
3. Size: It's tall. My daughter is 4 and cannot pedal. #Cannot reach pedal in low position#
4. Ride: The ride is stable. The attachment system on the bike is steady. #It required 54mm/ 2" 1/8 free on you seat pole. I wish I had this information because I have a seat with a suspention and and no not enough space)
5. Custumer support is kind and efficient. I'm now waiting for the replecement...
