I have found that this particular unit to be very quick in cooling and easy to install in window. I have also noticed that my electric bill wasn't nearly as high as I thought it would be. I would give this air conditioner a triple A rating, plus! AAA+!!

This is a great air conditioner but there dimenions listed online are wrong. The width is actual 16" when online it states it is 13 3/4" so it didn't fit into my window. I searched hours for this air conditioner and was very disappointed when it didn't fit. I returned product.

We live in Mesquite NV and it gets very HOT here. Last year central air died and we were looking at $6,000 to repair or $8,000 to replace it. I ordered two of these units for the bedrooms and was thrilled they cooled the rooms better than our central A/C ever did and my power bill has dropped significantly. They run quietly and and were easy to install. Couldn't have asked for a better unit

Yes, middle of August and my 8 year old 13, 000 btu gave up the ghost and it got really hot around here for two days. Two days! I was amazed when my new a/c was delivered in 2 days !!! (from WalMart) The set up was easy and in an hour I had it installed and cooling down. (I am female, 72 yrs old) This little 5,000 btu is cooling better and quieter than the old one. I am totally impressed and would recommend it to anyone. In fact I am thinking of buying another one.

This is a practical compact unit easy to install with the plastic adustable ears included. good thing not electronic controls, I selected regular mechanical knobs. Good enough for a 100sq ft. Of course if room is hot need to give some time (few minutes) to make it cool. The AC units have like a comb or radiator metal strips on the back, I did not like it arrived with some of them pushed or bent like when you push with fingers, lokks like a couple of marks were made with a stunt object, No damage to the gas pipe inside. (cosmetical issue on the back). The box did not show packaging damaging marks so makes me think it was shipped like that. did not return since I already imported it, and the unit works fine

I purchased my first item on line at Wal mart. I wanted an air conditioner and as all the stores were sold out, I ordered it on line. It arrived in two days. It was a good value at $ 115.00, compact, and very quiet. I purchased one at Sears several years ago for over $300 for the bedroom and it makes so much noise it keeps me it wakes me up. I am very happy with this purchase.

The unit arrived with a broken compressor fan. This was not shipping damage, the fan is inside the unit. When turning the unit on, it made a loud banging sound. Therefore I would conclude that Frigidare knowingly shipped a defective unit.
Walmart customer service refunded my purchase and I ordered a GE, works well. Walmart did a good job, their vendors should take a lesson.

After reading reviews posted by other's, we purchased this air conditioner with high hopes from Wal-Mart.com. We got a great price ($115) and shipping for only 93 cents. The unit was shipped promptly and arrived in perfect condition.
When we bought this air conditioner we knew this was a small unit and only expected it to cool our bedroom. Our main goal was to be able to sleep comfortably. We wanted the room to be cool, with low humidity and quiet. Since the unit was small we did close the door when it was running.
We used the air conditioner 4 times and only the first time did it cool with any efficiency. After that the unit never produced anything except slightly cool air- never cold. It did not matter which setting, HIGH or LOW, we used the result was the same. Also it was never really hot outside when we used the unit. The unit did seem to remove humidity from the air and it was as quiet as any fan.
The last time we used the unit it produced the most awful acetone-type smell. Even after we turned the air conditioner off the odor lingered for almost an hour. This odor also affected my allergies and made it impossible for us to continue using it. Note: in a couple of reviews I read on this unit on Lowes.com it was mentioned that the unit had styrafoam inside the unit as an insulator. This is correct and I think the smell came from this insulation heating up.
We returned the unit to a local Wal-Mart store and we got all our money back without any questions or hassles.
So in summary, while the unit was quiet and removed some humidity, we can not recommend this unit based on it's lack of cooling and the odor.
