Sanyo SANYO 50" Class Plasma 720p 600Hz HDTV, DP50740
This Sanyo Plasma HDTV features the latest technology for the digital age. The digital tuner is Digital Clear QAM capable of receiving unscrambled digital cable. Sporting a high gloss black finish, it will virtually disappear when the lights are dimmed for your movies, sports and favorite programs. You will enjoy this full array of HDMI, Component Audio/Video, Composite Audio/Video and RF inputs, with plenty of options for DVD, VCR, cable, satellite and external antenna hookups. A coaxial digital audio output allows hookup to a home entertainment receiver amplifier system for theater like sound. The Sanyo Plasma HDTV also has an additional PC/Mac input, which allows alternative use as a computer monitor. A new for 2010 USB input allows photo viewer display of JPEG photos. The detachable pedestal base stand allows the Sanyo Plasma HDTV to be wall mounted with an optional wall mount kit (not included).

You get what you pay for... the sound is horrible.. very low and the speakers were already blown out way before we put it to use..

It took time to convince my husband to agree to get this brand because it is an "off-brand" but with the warranty offered by walmart he agreed with the comforting thought that if anything went wrong it would be nothing coming out of our pocket. So far the 50' PLASMA has been AMAZING addition to our room, the picture quality is great. As far as sound, as long as you don't crank the volume past 36 your fine, but if you go past that the sound becomes very distorted. We don't have any problems with it because we just use our surround sound. Plenty of inputs for your electronic needs. Remote is user friendly. Easy set-up guide.Switching inputs has a couple second delay, but nothing major. The base is sturdy. The tv is heavy!!!! GREAT TV!! GREAT PRICE!!

When I turn the product to DVD/VHS mode it shuts off automatically. I have contacted the manufacturer and they basically blew me off. This TV has a decent picture, but several GLITCHES!!! BEWARE. Spend a little more money and get more for the value.

Our 50" Vizio tv lost sound. We took it to the repair shop to find out it would cost $850.00 to repair the component that went out. It could be more if one of the other 2 components went out at the same time. We saw the Sanyo and it was less to purchase than repairing our other TV. I am very pleased with the picture quality of our Sanyo.

I've owned this TV for approx 11 months. I always wait for some time before I review any product because I don't always trust reviews made a few weeks after purchase. This TV has performed great. After some minor adjustment, the picture is fantastic with NO blurring or artifacting and the sound is great also. This only negative comment would be it is to heavy for me to handle by myself. Overall its a Great TV and I highly recommend it.

Me and my husband purchased this TV exactly a year ago. It has been excellent! This picture is awesome...I stared at all the others to compare, and I couldnt pass this one up! We planned on getting a 42 inch for around 650-750. So we really got a great deal! The only small thing I could possibly complain about is I wish the volume was louder, we have a panasonic as our bedroom TV and at level one u can hear it very well. So if you have the extra to invest in surround sound itll be worth it considering the money you have saved! Overall, great buy!

Bought the tv cause it was a cheap 50" tv that says 600hz which trust me is nothen like the 120hz on lcd's ya its the smooth motion tech built in to lcd's that make everything look smooth not the actual hz amount.
But anyway i thought i would be able to tweak brightness settings to get the tv brighter but there is nothen u can tweak contrast is set to max allready on every profile and turning up brightness looks horrible.
It is just way to dark to enjoy trust me when i say spend $100 or more on a lcd 120hz over this cheap tv.
I returned this for the 47" vizio 120hz tv and it is awesome!!!

This television is amazing for the price. You would think a tv like this would run you about 1500 at least. I am very impressed with the quality of the picture, the colors, and the fluidity of motion with it.

LOVED this TV for the first year plus. We purchasedt this TV in November of 2008....TODAY It just turned itself off and will not come back on....I remember reading the fine print and it said somewhere that the plasma screen had a life of 1000 hours or something? We also used it as a computer monitor in our living room for photo slideshows ect.. It was on quite often. It was great while it worked...I would not buy again however...I want a dependable, not disposable TV.

I just purchased this tv today. It is a great value and an excellent product. I could not be more satisfied with it. The picture is great, the sound is great, and it has more than enough inputs and features.
The only issue i have is with with the dimensions that Walmart has specified under product details.
they state that the "product dimensions in inches" are 19x39x57. These are not the dimensions of the product. they are the dimensions of the box that it comes in. the Television itself is (WxHxD) 49x33.2x14.2.
i measured a space out and rearranged my living area to accomodate the specified dimenions and they were incorrect. the dimensions i have stated are what is stated on the box itself for the product details.
Once again, the product is EXCELLENT!

We have placed this in our main family room and we all have family time now and really enjoy watching it. the picture is great and very clear, some channels don't come in good but that's prob the cable. We love it, I would highly recommend this to anybody looking for a huge family tv.

Bad decision

I purchased this television about 2 years ago and initially I was very happy with it. That was until one day it just turned itself off and would not turn back on. I called a repair man out and was told that the power board was bad and needed to be replaced to the tune of $375.00. Done. Three monthes later, dead again. I decided to do my own investigation and discovered that there were (2) 8 amp 250 volt ceramic fuses in the power boar that had blown, fortunatly for me there is an electronic supply company close that carries these fuses (radio shack doesnt so dont bother looking) and was able to fix the tv my self much cheaper ( 10 cents per fuse times 2 each fix) Well, 40, yes 40, fuses later, i give up. The last time i "fixed" it, it stayed powered up for about 30 mins. DO NOT BUY THIS TELEVISION!!!!!!!!!!!!
