Still no problems after one year

Waited to write a review till unit was at least a year old. Have not had any issues with the player, though I only use it on trips and vacations. Panel buttons are very touchy and limited, so make sure you don't forget the remote. Good colors and picture. So satisfied so far.
I didn't think the reviews on any portable DVD players were all that good, so did purchased the 3 years extended service plan, and for $10 a year, not really a loss even if it continues to function properly.

Great DVD Player! Nice crisp, clear colors. Very sturdy. Was knocked to floor by toddler and no damage noted and continues to play well. Battery charge last a long time. I like the swivel screen. Remote is a nice feature also.

I bought this so my daughter could pass the time nicely on her first flight. It worked like a charm. The picture is really great. And I love the swivel feature. I even watched a movie one night myself at our destination. The battery life is fantastic!! Only need to charge it once and we got a ton of use out of it.

I bought 2 of these, one for each vehicle. Both started showing problems where the power cord connects to the unit, both quickly becoming positional, sometimes requiring repositioning several times to get power to unit (which can be a pain when 2 year old crying for movie and it keeps stopping due to power loss). After 3 1/2 months one of these has stopped working completely. Also, did not realize that remote does not have power off button. Must use manual power slide on unit or unplug unit to turn it off. I usually gravitate towards SONY products for quality, but they really missed the ball with this unit.

This player is perfect for use with small children. The battery life lasts 8 to 9 hours when fully charged and is great for long flights or road trips with a 2 year old. The swivel screen is great to keep the controls by you so the little one can't get to them. It also has a switch that locks the controls so if the kid does press a button, nothing happens. The only issue I have is my child has figured out where the "open" button is. This is where the swivel comes in handy. My favorite electronic investment!

I wanted a portable DVD Player that was easy to use and had good volume control. It also has a long battery life.
I checked out several other players, and none of them compared to this one. If you are looking for a good portable DVD Player, than this is the one to get!! Would highly recommend this player.

I don't have anything negative to write about this product. I originally bought another brand name (10" screen) but ended up returning it because the volume just wasn't loud enough. I spent $50 more for this one and happy I did. The picture is great, the volume is great (even on a plane I didn't need the max volume). The swivel screen and hold button is a nice feature for my youngest (she can't screw it up while my older daughter is watching it). I wish I could have gotten a better price-but....I would recommend this dvd player for anyone in the market of buying one.

I purchased the DVD player for my 1 year old daughter. We are frequent flyers and she gets VERY bored on the plane. I haven't been able to use it on a plane yet, but when we are home, I put on a DVD for her and she just sits and watches. :)
Anyway, the swivel screen feature is great! It had great picture quality and sound! I highly recommend this product! I can assure you that you will not regret purchasing this!

I have owned a few portable DVD players and this one is by far the best. The picture quality is great and the swivel screen is a cool feature. The best feature is the 7+ hrs. of battery life. Most players have enough power to watch 1 movie and that's it. It comes in very handy during a power outage.
Sony should have included a carrying case but they didn't. Overall this is a great DVD player.

Walmart is awesome with their shipping as far as timing
The price for this dvd player was $20 to $30 cheaper than Costco's price.
My husband uses the player on his Truck when he is out on the road and is very happy with it.

We bought the Sony Portable DVD Player in 11/2009, paid quite a bit of money for it, and it no longer plays DVDs, broke the other day, 16 months later. The best we ever got from the battery was maximum 3 hours, never 6 as advertised. We are very disappointed because we always thought that Sony was top of the line in consumer electronics, such as this. We are looking for another portable DVD player, but not Sony.

Should have bought this years ago but was too cheap. It works great! Doesn't stop or skip. Battery life is amazing. Make's long trips enjoyable. We have a 5 and 3 year old and have talked about buying one of these for years. Would buy again in a heart beat.

OMG, this dvd player is amazing!! you can play slide shows on it which I could not with my reg dvd player, you can play your dvd and hear it without head phones! Just hope the battery life is better than the one of another brand I would not buy again

Love this portable dvd player because it is bigger than the others. Features I love about it: swivels, battery lasts about 7 hours, has a hold button so kids can't do anything when they bush the buttons on it. The only thing I don't like (but I'm sure this is the same with all portable dvd players) is that the open button is so easy to push, I accidently press it sometimes while picking it up or while holding it and the dvd resets itself to the beginning. To make this less of an issue, I just close it (with screen facing out) so the open button is blocked.

This product was well worth the extra money! I bought it for my husband who sits in long lines in a semi truck waiting to deliver corn, he is able to watch it without having problems with the DVD skipping he can hear the sound without wearing earphones even over the truck running and it is very durable. Comes with the car plug in but you don't really need it because the battery lasts 7 or more hours. Great product
