Bought this for my son's apt at college with 4 guys using it...and it has held up! Looked at much more expensive cans and decided on this one, since price was an issue with the others. I only wish it were a matte finish, as it does show scratches since it's shiny and the top and sides do show signs of wear...so that is my only complaint. Otherwise, it's a great trash can!! I expect it will last like my previous hefty can that we bought like 17 years back and we are still using for a recycle bin because it no longer matches our decor in the kitchen.

for the past 10 years used a nice looking metal can which had a very hard to use foot pedal as it was not recessed. this one has a recessed area to make it easy to use, and takes hardly any effort. As an additional cool feature, if you simply lift the cover with your hand, it will stay open - great for many tasks.

Add me to the list of customers that were disappointed when they removed the trashcan from the original packaging (a oversized box with no packing materials). The can had many, many scratches and was dirty on the outside. It looked as if it had already been used. I saw this trashcan at an office and asked if it worked well. The employee said yes. I tested it, and decided it was exactly what I was looking for. Too bad it didn't look nice enough for me to put in my home.

very cheap plastic, flimsy level. i based my purchase off of the reviews of others. sounds like they do not have very high standards for a decent trash can.

It's your basic kitchen trash can. Decent construction, the foot lever for the lid works well, and it's only $20.00. Looked online and this was the cheapest with a foot lever. Pretty good deal.

I opted to go for the slightly more expensive "hands free" can.
I am glad I did. The finish is glossy - I do not have problems keeping it clean, but imagine it would show little finger prints quite well.

Bought the can for my daughter. Great can for the price. Great color. I like the step cans especially in the kitchen when you are cooking and throwing away stuff at the same time. You don't have to actually touch the lid of the garbage can.

The black trash can looks nice as far as trash cans go. It has a bit of a shiny finish, but isn't too wild. It's light weight, so does move around a little when you push the foot pedal until there's trash in there to weigh it down.
Word to the wise: Buy black trash bags because otherwise your white trash bag will look dumb sticking out. And no one wants a dumb looking trash can.
