After going to many stores and exhaustive online research, I just happened to stumble across this bike after one of my trips to Wal-Mart. Found it in the store for $199. This bike is very lightweight and is far better equipped than anything else I could find anywhere for even $300. The front and rear derailleurs are far better quality and shift more smoothly and quickly than those found on any other bikes in this price range. Everything about this bike seems better built, the suspension forks are better quality as well. I took back a couple other bikes I had purchased before I found this one. I did a LOT of looking and research, and I bought this bike as soon as I saw it and never looked back. They show these bikes being out of stock online, if you see one of these in the store for $199, BUY IT! YOU WON'T BE SORRY! I think it's still a good deal for the $249 and $289 I've seen others review it for. If I can find another one I'll buy it for my wife, but I'm not holding my breath that one will show up in the store.

I'm a daily bicycle commuter and was looking for an inexpensive bike to use for errands and such, and wanted a bike with 26" wheels so I could use my studded snow tires on it in the winter and still have room for fenders. Surprisingly this bike fit the bill- it has clearance for both with room to spare. At first I planned to use it as a beater bike and use my "good bikes" for nice days, but it's surprisingly decent and I've used it every day. I put a cyclocomputer on it and today I passed the 200 mile mark with zero problems. I've used Trek Singletracks, Giant Iguana's, Redline Monocog's and an old Bianchi mountain bike and seriously, I can't tell the difference between a more expensive bike and this one for daily trips around town and light trail use. Once I got it adjusted, it works flawlessly. Now obviously if you want something you can drop off cliffs on and climb over logs in the woods you may want to upgrade the front shocks or choose a different bike but for what most people use a bike for, this one is really a good value. I can't see any real upgrades that will be needed in the next 100 or so miles, but eventually I will probably upgrade the headset (it comes stock with AHeadSet brand) to a Cane Creek and maybe switch out the brake pads for some Cool Stops, but for now it's fine and a surprisingly nice bike for under $260. I would most definitely recommend this to a friend.

Just bought yesterday and I rode it right away. It is a great bike, really lite-weight and runs fast. I almost buy another one similar to this one in 379 and i bought this one in 289. It is a great bike. I am happy.

It came a day earlier than advertised, so that was a surprise to me. It was a little frustrating getting the front tire put onto the frame, but with a little patience, I was able to get it on. Unfortunately, I didn't have an air pump nearby, and so was unable to actually ride the bike for about 2 weeks, but I have since been able to ride it, and it works beautifully! I would definitely recommend this kind of bike to those poor college students who need some sort of transportation, as this bike will definitely last.

A little tooo good . . . . .

I bought my bike two days ago after the store manager gave me a mark-down, (pissst, $30). I was planning on getting the Genesis Saber or maybe the v2100, but after I rode this bike around the garden area theres was no comparison. The Genesis felt heavy and clumsy, even with the tri-shocks, the menuverability and acceleration of the Triace was a pleasent surprise. Its very rugged for its weight and Ive been looking for any excuses to ride it. First day was a ten mile journey through the city and back, partially on the bus cause I was exhausted and riding that far I'm not use to yet but I will be with this. The seat is very comfortable, very cool looking and very appealing, the gears are quick and solid, it doesnt need disc, believe me, its almost threw me off the handle bars this morning. There is virtualy no effort at all when riding on level ground, and over bridges it's the best Ive ever had, theres no stopping it when it gets going after that. Get yourself a very good lock, permanently chain the seat to the frame and dont leave it alone for very long. The bike is an instant eye catcher and maybe a little too pretty for me, (hence the Genesis).

- Very light frame - More speeds compared with other bikes, which is very good to climb a steep slope. - The gear change pretty fast. - The brakes are great. due to bike's light frame, the brakes can grip the rims easily. But for serious bikers, I suggest you change them to disc brakes. - Suspension is good.
Two Thumbs Up!

AWESOME BIKE!!

For anyone wondering if this bike is worth the price or not, IT IS! This bike is 100% pure rugged with very nice components that shocked me to the bone, considering wal-mart is not a professional bike store. I have not purchased the bike yet, but rode it around the store and checked if over for atleast a half hour. The bike is very light weight and ultra sturdy making this bike at wal-mart (including all prices) wildly superior! The bike is equipped with some REAL carbon fiber parts, and not one component on the bike is anywhere near low grade, like all of the other bikes you might purchase from the store. The derailleur is smooooth in changing gears, and does so in a very timely manner. The trigger shifters are a major bonus as well as the big knobby tires that sit on some nice alloys. Wal-mart has definitely pushed a bike onto the floor that is equivalent and maybe superior to other authentic bike shop purchases anywhere close to the $300-$600 range!
