47" Proscan LED/LCD TV--The Best!

I've had my 47A LED/LCD Proscan TV since Dec 2011. It is the best purchase I've made in years! It was delivered by FedEx and set down right in my living room! (I live in the mountains 60 miles from town.) No shipping or taxes either at the time (Christmas special)--what a deal! Even though I am a little old lady, I hooked it all up myself. The picture is unbelievably clear, but the original small sound speakers were tinny as others forewarned. I saved so much on buying this TV instead of a popular name brand, that I bought a Vizio sound bar at Walmart ($98) on my next trip to town, and hooked that up by myself too. Really simple, and it all works fabulously! This LED TV also saves on power (vs. LCD or plasma). Also, they run out of stock quickly so don't procrastinate when available. The only drawback is that I have sat and watched TV too much since last Christmas and am now going to physical therapy for low back pain.

After reading some reviews i started to get nervous after purchasing this TV online. I've owned it for a month now and I have to say that our family is more than satisfied. After adjusting the settings to my taste the picture is now really freakin good. We have a 32" samsung in our bedroom that cost almost twice as much and now i wish i had two of these proscans because the proscan picture is actually better. It's super thin and looks like it cost way more too. The speakers on this are decent on this TV, and I would say they're above average for an LED. This being said I have a 1000W 5.1 system running the sound making it just like the movies. Also I have an expensive HDMI connection and havent tried it using coaxil. Overall great TV and will please anyone who buys it.

Very Unsatisfied (Broke Within 3 Days!)

We found this tv online and on sale for a great price. After reading the reviews we felt as though we could not go wrong. Boy were we mistaken. We hooked it up on Saturday, and while watching a movie Monday night the tv shut off on it's own. We called for technical support and after being talked through different tests so that they could tell me the problem, I was informed that the power pannel was broke and needed to be replaced. It would take up to 10 days to come in and then I would have to make an oppointment with them to send someone out. Well, we bought the tv and already invited a group over to grill out and watch movies in just four days. So now we are going to take it back to walmart and get another brand. Possibly a Visio, Samsung, or LG. This is very dissapointing to pay for a tv just to have it not even turn on after less than three days of use!!!! Please think long and hard before purchasing this television. We really thought that after many good reviews everything would be great.

We wanted to get a tv just like this, but did not think we would find one this affordable...so far so good! The sound isn't very good-almost sounds like its coming out of a tin can, so now I am waiting for my sound bar! But the Wii is awesome, movies are great-almost has a 3-D feel and since we hung it on the wall, I am finding myself becoming a couch potato! I am bragging to all my friends about this television and I would recommend to everyone. But it is only available online and took about 14 days to arrive at the store, but it did fit in the backseat of a PT Cruiser-out of the box, so if you want to save yourself $70 in shipping...

I can't tell you how many people have marveled at the picture quality saying it looks 3-D! Love it, love it, love it! Don't pass this one by-it is actually made by RCA, BTW. Don't worry, it has options for a stereo sound and can really get loud if you need it for music at your party. LG can't say that.

This TV is very good. I don't see why it is not sold in the stores. As per other reviews sound quality is not the best, but can be overcome with external speakers. TV is so light you can use a wall mount designed for smaller TV's. Drawback is a large blue light that glows only when the TV is off. Could be a problem when used in a bedroom.

I purchased this TV for my father's birthday and after 6 months it went out. We called for a replacement on the one year warranty and the customer service sent out a Sears tech. The tech said it was a bad panel and it was a common problem with the Proscan brand that's made by RCA. The tech stated he would receive a replacement within a week. Three weeks later with several phone calls and really bad customers service..such as lying..yeah you have a replacement on the way..no we have to send you a box..then no we're just going to send you a check to buy another tv...well we're not going to replace this tv because it's no longer made..weeks of frustration!! DO NOT BUY!! We finally took it back to Walmart and they understood the problems and were aware..they were kind enough to give us a store credit. Please think before you purchase anything Proscan!

I might be a little off on my review because this is the first flat screen that I have owned, but it is a truly amazing picture. I mounted it above my fireplace and it has cleared out so much space so that I can actually enjoy my living room. Hooked it up to some speakers via a receiver and this totally makes for an at home theater. Can't wait to purchase a blu-ray player to put everything in full effect. Don't look any further if you want the best deal on a great tv.

I was nervous buying a brand I was not familiar with but I am so pleased with this TV. And so are my teenaged boys who know a lot about this technology, far more than I do. The picture is amazing! There is also little to no glare on the screen, even with bright windows facing the screen. Great purchase!

The Proscan LED 47inch rocks. It makes normal tv programming better even with a basic video cable. Blueray DVD's provide a near trippy experience that feels like you're watching a director's cut or like you're on the film set. It's pretty sweet, and I could not ask for better. I attached a sound bar for better sound, and was still way under budget compared to competing tv's. I use it as my computer monitor too!

This is a wonderful television for the price. The picture is bright and beautiful when playing in HD. The non-HD picture is not as clear but I have heard this is pretty standard for any HD TV.
The sound on this television is absolutely terrible, however, it is nothing a sound bar or other surround sound system can't fix. Without enhancement, the sound is distorted and sounds like it is coming from a tin can.
Other than that one thing, I am very happy with this purchase.

Shipment was completed within a reasonable timeframe. Box was damaged, but I inspected TV before leaving store. As other reviewers have noted the picture quality is extraordinary. The speakers, due to the ultra-thin chassis, are "tinny" sounding. This will be inherent in all such designs where the depth of the cabinet is ~1.75 inches unless the maker increases the frame size (and subsequent wall footprint) to allow speakers the full cabinet thickness. The spekers on this model are mounted behind the LCD/LED screen facing rearward. Due to this your mount must be rock solid or vibration noise will be induced. I made a hinged mount that allows the set to be tilted up easing the installation of cables. The materials for the mount were purchased for less than $15. Love this TV and the power consumption measures about 1/3 of the plasma set it replaced.

My husband and I purchased this TV for our family room. It is our first flat screen TV and with surround sound, it's like sitting rink side for our Avalanche hockey games. We love it and recommend it highly. The high definition is far better than our old TV. The associate (Mike) who assisted us was great. It took two people to load the enormous package in the vehicle to take home.

This is a great deal. The sound quality of the TV is really good which was surpising for the price. You do need to have HD from your cable or satellite provider other wise the picture quality is poor to say the least. We haven't had it long enough to know if it will last but we are enjoying it now. Don't bother buying a TV with more then 1080p it's a waste of money because nothing is broadcast higher then that and most only broadcast at 480p. It looks great too, love the razor thin design.
