The Coleman 5319-755 LED Micropacker Lantern supported with two bright LED lights does an excellent job of providing you with the light you need, especially when you are out camping. This Coleman Micropacker compact battery lantern requires three AAA batteries and will serve you for up to 14 hours when used in high mode and up to 8 hours when used in low mode. You can make use of the 4-position switch to easily shuffle between high, low, strobe, and off depending on your needs. The size and weight of this camping LED lantern is so compact that it can even be carried around in the pocket. The top-cap is designed to provide space to accommodate the metal handle when not in use, thus making the lantern even more convenient. All-in-all, this weather-resistant Coleman Micropacker compact battery lantern proves to be a suitable choice for any outdoor adventures.
This is really all you need for backpacking. I am a survival enthusiast/backpacker and I am here to tell you that you do not all sorts of outrageous amounts of Lumen. This is all you need and for the price, you can't beat it. It's really compact and it will light up a room about 12'x12' perfectly. Hope this helps.

This little fire fly is my best friend while backpacking...especially when you need to use a light that will mark camp while going out to get more firewood at dark...Great all purpose light, only one mode though (On/Off), does have a back slide that is reflective that slide up to focus forward light. This is the largest light I'll carry backpacking, light, inexpensive, and bright!
This is VERY SMALL. If I had seen a better, more specific description, I would have never ordered it.

This is a great small lantern and has a loop for hanging as well. I just this in my tent whenever we go camping. It is slim sized and lightweight, making iot easy to pack and hang. I just attach a string and it's good to hang on one of the loops in my tent. It emits a good amount of light and uses regular batteries.

The description is not correct. This lantern has an on and off button only. Since it uses 3 AA batteries, it bright enough to eat (low lighting dinner places) and navigate to the bathroom. However, it's pretty cool and worth it.

I don't know why I bought this thinking it would be larger, it's only 5 or 6 inches long, but for 11 or 12 bucks it does come with batteries so not a horrible deal. I used a carabiner to clip it to a loop at the top of my monster 12x14 coleman tent. For my purpose I obviously should have gotten a bigger/brighter light. I like it overall but would thing that with 4 AAs it could shed some more light. For backpacking yes, but not all that bright.

They have the wrong description on walmart.com for this light. the description is for a red coleman max personal light. this one pictured, the yellow one says it gets 125 hrs on the box. most likly with the energizer lithium batteries, which i hear are lighter weight and work better in the cold. weighs about a pound and a half im guess and have no scale and just comparing it to a 2 pound dumbell. it only has one brightness setting a simple click on click off.has a sliding back piece to go from lamp mode to focused foward.

I bought this lantern for backpack camping. It's handy when a head light isn't the right tool for the job. It's light weight and bright enough. I lost the original and liked it enough to buy another.
