Coleman Coleman Quad Lantern
The Coleman Quad Lantern will come in handy when you are out camping. This LED lantern has four removable panels that hold twenty-four 5mm LEDs, which can be used as a portable source of light when you are outdoors. Powered by eight D cell batteries, this rechargeable LED lantern can work up to 75 hours. Each panel of the rechargeable LED lantern comprises of 6 LEDs and each of panel has its own on and off switch. A master switch on top allows you turn on all four panels in one go. As an option, you can remove a single panel to light your way back home or around the camp. Featuring a top handle, carrying or hanging this camping lantern is convenient and easy. With the ability to deliver 190 lumens of light, this LED lantern is bright enough to show you the way around.

Specifically we had 3 campsites with 24 people recently. This lantern was used in the main camp as well as for individuals who needed a small light to get to the bathrooms at night, or move around from campsite to campsite. This experience prompted me to purchase one as well. It is a super product. Oh, it has been used to find some stuff in my backyard shed as well.

This item is great when it comes to convenience, it comes in handy when you have multiple people needing a light at the same time ( for example when the lights go out or camping). Also, the lights are very bright, and I would recommend this for anyone.

We are very impressed with this lantern. There are three reasons I didn't give it 5 stars. It is because the four panels have batteries that recharge from the 8 D cells all the time. We bought this lantern for emergency light, so it will be in storage otherwise. Leaving the batteries in will be a constant drain and I don't want the batteries dead when I need it most. I think we will remove the panels in storage or remove the batteries.
Also, putting the eight D batteries in is no problem but screwing the bottom back on is a two person operation. I'd hate to have to do it by myself in the dark.
Lastly, the handle on the top of the lantern isn't as easy to grab as the panel handles which are higher up. The tendency is to grab one of those instead of the lantern handle which isn't as high and folds down. I have visions of grabbing a panel handle and having the panel pop off in mid air crashing the unit on the floor.
Otherwise it sheds plenty of light and I would recommend it.

Heard of this product from a relative who had it for Superstorm Sandy. Wished I had learned of it sooner however I am now prepared should there be any future power outages. It really packs a punch in illuminating the darkened area. The snap away quads are such a great feature of this lantern. It allows you to walk around bringing one section of the light with you. A bonus that is not mentioned in the description is that the lantern comes supplied with AA batteries necessary to burn the snap out sections. Overall a very good product.

Hurricane Sandy hit and we had no power!

This lamp was amazing. We had no power due to Hurricane Sandy for 14 days. The lamp has 4 detachable lamps that can be taken along with you. This was helpful for simple things like going to the bathroom, walking the dogs, finding my keys. The lights were Very Very bright and the base was also a charging station. Well worth the value for us, it gave us light!

Extremely bright lantern.!!! The downside is it takes 8 D cell batteries! I bought it as a Christmas present so I just tested it to make sure it worked before wrapping. Because of their small size and portability, the panels coming off the side will work wonderfully for use when we go horse camping, to go check on horses in the middle of the night, run to bathroom, etc . However, I do think you'd be better off to use rechargeable batteries for this in the long run..but it's up to my BF, this is his present for when we go camping next summer.

This is a great lantern to have around the house in case of a black out or other emergency that leaves you in the dark. It provides one large lightage or four smaller ones that can be taken to other locations within the home. I would assume great for camping also.

I love this lantern! We purchased this lantern after one of our friends had bought it. It provides great lighting and I love how you can take one section off and go on your way. We ended up hanging it using a zip tie in our canopy while camping.

So we bought this and it's a great product. Especially for camping. Heading to the restrooms, you're just lugging a very lightweight powerful light. The problem is to keep it charged, you have to buy 8 "RECHARGABLE" D BATTERIES. Which costs almost $100 for the batteries and charger. Great for kids.

We have found this lantern exceeds our expiations. For some unknown reason we have a lot of power outages. With the individual pods make it possible for each of us to have light during the night. It is a very bright lantern that keeps two rooms well lit. We live on the coast so have many storms each year. No home or camper should be without one.

This is such a wonderful lantern! I am extremely pleased with it and I use it quite a bit. Not only did it provide all of the light we needed for our large tent, but the little lanterns were fun for the boys to have their own lights when they walked around outside with the other Boy Scouts. It is extremely bright and rugged. It has been dropped so many times. . . I use it when I have to check on the horses, go out to the barn, work on my car, and when the lights go out during a storm. I haven't had to change the batteries since I originally installed them -- 2 years ago. I keep the lantern next to my bed instead of a flashlight. I would like to buy at least 2 more; one to put in the garage and one to put upstairs for emergencies. Do not look at the light when lit -- it is just way too bright!! LOVE IT!!

I love this Coleman Quad Lantern....just know if it doesn't work right when you get the batteries into it that you need to adjust the spring...took me awhile to figure it out but finally I got some pliers and pulled the spring up so it could make a better contact and it worked fine from then on...before it would flicker if touched just so but after the adjustment it was just fine. It is very bright and even separate they are bright.

This has everything I wanted in a lantern whether it is used for camping or for power outages. It has the quad lights so that if I need a lot of light, I use all four or a little light I use only one. It is wonderful. It can be used by up to 4 people going to different places or it can be one bright light. It uses 8 D cell batteries and they last a good long time. I used one quad for the campsite and then I took another one with me to the bathroom. It is portable and easy to take one quad out.
