The camera is a good deal for what it costs. It works fine and takes good pictures. I have a 1 year old and if he is on the move while I am trying to take a picture it does come out blurry. Otherwise the pictures are good.

Started out by taking it to Key West. It took very nice clear pictures most of the time. It's a good camera if you want to keep in on "auto" and point-and-shoot. I'm sure there are lots more things you can do with it, but I couldn't really figure them out. It's lightweight and small. I would highly recommend it!

I just LOVE this camera! I'm a shaker and with previous cameras I've always had to take more than one picture just in case the first one was blurry. With this camera I haven't had to do that. Every picture comes out great! And it is not plastic like most cameras these days. You can tell it is very well made. I also like that it knows when to use the flash and when not to. For the price you get everything you could want, and then some.

We travel and like to have pictures and videos. Our favorite camera for this is our Sony Cyber-shot (extremely easy to use and carry). We decided after 2 years to purchase a second one so we could each carry a camera and everything would be compatible when downloaded, plus batteries and chips would be exchangable during trips. An additional function we found with this camera is using the zoom feature as binoculars, especially from a high point to "scout" terrain as we look for our next adventure.

Got this camera about two weeks ago and I took it on a train ride and the pictures were SO clear even while moving! I took a picture of Alcatraz Island while crossing the Bay Bridge and you could see people's faces CLEARLY from that far away...amazing price for an amazing product.

After hours of reviewing digital cameras, I decided to give the Sony Cyber-shot H55 a try. I had ordered it online, in hopes of receiving it prior to my vacation. Since it had arrived only two days before I left, I had to learn how to use the camera while on vacation! I love taking pictures, so I wasn't too concerned about figuring it out, plus the camera gives a brief description of each setting, which is a big help! I was pleasantly surprised with most of the pictures. I mainly used the Intelligent Auto Adjustment, but found that the Easy Shooting setting resulted in a more natural look.
I have yet to fully review the manual on the CD Rom, which gives more details. I would have preferred a full manual rather than the CD Rom.
Since I ordered the camera without actually seeing it in person, I wasn't sure about the weight. Based on the reviews I read, I felt it may have been heavier than the average digital camera. And it is; however, I prefer this over a smaller camera that could easily slip from my hands.
I am pleased with the software; each picture indicates a date and time the photo was taken. I am looking forward to viewing my pictures on an HDTV once I figure out how to do that!
All in all, I am happy with my purchase. I would recommend this camera.

Zoom and flash are great on this camera! only think i don't like is it takes a few extra seconds to snap the next picture - i tried the burst mode to speed things up but then they get blurry over all a am happy with the pictures it take and the extra modes.

I love this camera. It takes great clear pics. The 10x zoom is awesome and the pics are crystal clear. The specs on this site say it is only 5x, but that is a misprint. I'm glad i read the question and answer section. Sony company responds to another's question re this. The only problem i have is the battery seems to run out quickly but my old camera did the same thing so it may just be normal for that type of camera and battery, it probably pulls a lot of juice!. I have already ordered a back up battery that way i can take lots of great pics of my grandchildren. I would definitely recommend this camera.

Distorted faces

Disappointed in this. The low light and backlight automatic compensation work good, but the pictures of friends and family have come out with their faces slightly squished...so they look rounder than they are. I've had to Photoshop them to get them back into proportion. Maybe it's a face recognition setting that I have it set to . . . I don't know. The instructions on the various settings are just too complicated to figure out. I bought it because it's smaller and has the low light capability and higher resolution/optical zoom. Wished I'd stayed with a Kodak product (even tho' they won't be making them anymore). I love my little Kodak EasyShare, if it weren't for the lack of low-light capability and the smaller resolution and zoom.

*Faces are squished.
*Can't remove the memory card to put in your computer to download the pictures. The memory card is formatted so you have to connect the camera to the computer to download pictures even from the memory card. Computer FROZE in even searching for the memory card.
*Pictures are grainy...my Kodak Easyshare produces sharper pictures than the Sony, even at half the resolution.
I would return this for a refund if I had tested it more thoroughly sooner. A waste of money. Glad my Kodak still works, because I'll be going back to it even though it doesn't have the 10X zoom, and low-light features.

This camera was a Mother's Day gift from my daughters and my husband, and I absolutely love it. The pictures are great and the zoom is amazing. It does good videos. I was recently using a camera that recorded videos but no sound so this Sony camera definitely makes it all so much better. The bigger screen makes it easier to see the subject. The settings are easy to use..well overall the camera is easy to use. Landscape pictures come out really wonderful.

This is actually the second of this camera I've owned. I bought one two years ago but was stolen within the past few months. The camera is great especially for the price. The auto setting is the best I've seen. At larger sizes pictures become grainy quickly, but if you're only going to be printing at 5x7 this is a great camera, even though the model is 2 years old.
