Bought this camera to replace a lower rung SVAT camera that was destroyed by lightning glare. I was told by SVAT techs that this camera was made to withstand the elements more than the model I had. We shall see. Hooks up easy and resolution was a smidge better. So far so good.

Good, But Not Great

The image this camera displays during daylight hours is "okay". The quality is approximately the same as what you'd see on a VHS tape. At night, the camera displays a very grainy image showing what is directly in front of the camera out to a range of about 30 feet. The quality of the images displayed is not good, but you could distinguish a large object that was moving within the viewing range. However, this is pretty good for a camera that costs only $55. The infrared sensors give off a faint red glow at night.
The swivel that allows the camera to be rotated within its base is plastic (made to look like metal), and so is the set-screw that holds the camera in place. It is my opinion that if you lock-down the camera and leave it, these items may last for a few years. However, if the camera is moved often, I wouldn't expect them to last too long.
Set-up was easy, and the 60 ft. cord was ample for my needs. Overall, I like it but I'm a little disappointed in the quality of the images displayed (maybe I've been watching too much HDMI television), and the camera seems a bit light and cheaply made.

I am the sole caregiver for my 84 year old grandmother. She is extremely nosy and was constantly asking me to look out the window because she heard something. I purchase this camera and had absolutely no problems at all hooking it to the t.v. and running the 50 ft cable out a previously created hole for the satellite cable. Hooked it to the camera and had my grandmother watching her front yard in mins. This has a very clear picture. She can even watch her humming bird feeder now and enjoys being able to see who is coming up in the yard and the birds and wildlife in the neighboring fields. The night vision gives her security when she hears things at night. This is an all around great camera that suited my purpose wonderfully.
