after "reviewing" the many reviews on this toaster/oven, I decided to go for this one (I had previously considered smaller ones) especially since you can fit a full-size pizza in it.
I had never used convection cooking before, but love it! Another reviewer mentioned a conversion chart which I accessed on the internet and it's great ~ makes it so easy to convert the cooking times/temperatures to convection.
I also had concerns about no interior light in the oven ~~~ not a problem at all! The clear glass on the oven door makes it very easy to see into the oven and check on what you are cooking.
One reviewer mentioned that the oven door "falls down" on the counter when you open the oven. Well, there is a "stop spring" on the door when you partially open it (just like a regular oven) and the door, I found, doesn't just flop down on the counter.
I do agree that you should get an oven thermometer to get the true oven temperature when you are baking and not using the convection feature.
As mentioned in other reviews, the exterior of the oven does get hot, and you should not touch the top, sides, or door. However, on my full-sized regular oven, when I would run the oven, some of the burners on the top would also get warm. And of course, I would never touch the oven door ~~ just common sense.
Overall, I, a senior citizen, with arthritis in my hands, and shoulders (75 yrs) am totally thrilled with this oven. I don't have to lean over to get items into the oven, I am able to easily slide items out of the oven (with oven mitts on, of course). I am not dealing with a heavy, hot large oven door which always made me afraid of burning myself.
This oven is very quiet, and I am not heating up my kitchen when using it. The crumb tray for removing and cleaning the oven is wonderful ~~ vs. running my full-size oven cleaning feature for 3 (yes 3) hours ~ untold amounts of electricity running up my electric bill!!
All I can say is ~ buy one, you'll love it! VOODEBAH!

I bought this Convection Countertop Oven to replace my stove/oven that stopped working. I can still use my stove top to cook with, but to have the oven repaired would have cost over $200 and to buy a new one would have cost at least $500. So, I chose to buy this countertop oven. Since I don't use the oven everyday, I can move this about to store when not in use. It is large and takes up a lot of space, but with the weight being under 30 pounds, that is not a problem for me. It does have the two shelves and I have used two round 9 inch bakeware and they fit with plenty of room. I have only used this to cook biscuits and cornbread and to reheat things, like chicken, and also to toast bread. So far, very pleased with the results. It beeps when it is finished cooking. Does not have an interior light, but that is okay. The oven does get hot on top because there are vents on the top right and on both sides, but that is to be expected. I am very happy with my purchase and thankful that it cooks very well so that I didn't have to go out and buy an expensive stove/oven. And, I ordered this online and it was shipped quickly and arrived safely to my door. I love shopping online at WalMart.

I bought this item because its only hubby and I at home and I did not want to always heat up big stove oven. We were at my son and daughter in laws one weekend and she has one and that was all it took. I love this oven. It is big enough to place a 9x13 pan in and since I make a lot of sheet cakes that size this is perfect. Very happy with item, now I also save by not heating up large oven,especially now that summer has come. Well worth the price.

I really enjoy the convection on this oven. I read in a review that it will hold a family size pizza from Papa Murphys. It actually holds a large size, not the family size. So far I am really pleased with it. I notice that you have to keep pushing the buttons a few times, and then it works. Overall I am very pleased with my purchase.

Purchased the Oster Designed for Life Extra Large Convection Countertop oven for our office kitchenette to replace the old toaster oven that finally bit the dust. I'm not a fan of the appearance of stainless steel and purchased this one for its size. I've only used it twice so far. I agree with other reviews that Oster needs using instructions for temp. and time. I looked up conversion on internet. It recommends 25 degrees lower and one third less cooking time than used for conventional oven. The request for a review comes way too soon. I would have liked to have used it more first to give a better opinion.

This oven is perfect... It saves time in not having to fire up the big gas oven on the stove when cooking for just the two of us, but it fills in as a much needed second oven when cooking for a large group of dinner guests. I bake a lot of bread from scratch....it bakes the loaves and buns beautifully and browns them to perfection. It saves time because there is no waiting for it to pre-heat and it cools down quickly which will be a real plus during the summer months.
My only complaints are, I wish, the controls were dials instead of push button; they have to be pressed 'dead center'. Plus, the exterior of the oven gets fairly warm and the oven door is too hot to touch when the oven is in use. Other than that, I'd recommend this oven to anybody. It is nice to be able to warm the plates by just setting them on top of the oven #not on the vents, though#.

This was a gift from my gf and i was excited to try it, the convection function is great, I have made chicken drums and chicken thighs with the convection at 350 and it seems to be perfect every time, the skin turns out golden brown and this chicken just melts in your mouth everything seems to cook very fast so keep your eye on your food,not to many people even know what a convection oven is, this oven heats up to temperature while a fan circulates the air even through the food making everything cook perfect.

First let me point out the picture shown is the Model: TSSTTVXLDG-001 while the video shows Model: TSSTTVXLDG. I called Oster about the difference and besides the control panel, door handle and Broil pan/rack the Model: TSSTTVXLDG-001 has a 5 year warranty while Model: TSSTTVXLDG is a 1 year warranty but besides that both ovens are the same. This is also less than 13" tall about 12.5" if you have height issues like I did. Now, this is a very nice oven and yes the top gets hot, hot enough to heat the metal wire rack above it. I need to lower the rack the oven sits on to create a bigger air space, more than 1". Sadly it doesn't have a Rotisserie like my other 2 toaster ovens but I use the conviction action more now. It's taller than my old one, about 2" taller but the rack spacing is smaller, you need a very low sided pan to cook on both racks together like in the photo. This is wider and that comes in handy, very handy. It has no light unlike other Oster ovens do which is a bummer but not a deal breaker.

Nice and roomy. Works great. Doesn't cook 2 pizzas at the same time evenly. Had to cook 1 at a time. Top and front edge get hot while in use. Top reaches close to 150 degrees when baking @ 400 degrees. Have to pull it from under counter when in use. Other than that, a good buy.

Compared to all other ovens this thing gives you the most bang for the buck. Compared to the rest it's cheaper and much larger. It automatically turns off so your food will never over cook unless you set the timer to long. Didn't cook long enough? No problem just turn it on again with desired time. I cooked my first steak in it today. I didn't know what I was doing so I just pushed broil and start buttons. Didn't ask for a time so set a timer myself and watched it. You can adjust the temperature if you want but it's set at 450 degrees and I left it there at this setting. The broil setting already has a timer set for you. It turned off automatically and it didn't look like I thought it would because I always end up burning my steaks. I cut the steak to make sure it was done and it came out medium cooked all the way; evenly cooked. It was more tender and juicy than what I had ever cooked in the past. It was so delicious I rushed in to write this review to share my experience with everyone. I love this oven and I hate to cook anything. I'm also a single father so this is a must for anyone. It will turn you into a professional cook without you knowing anything. It cooks everything even and I know I have a hard time figuring out how to cook something even. It's amazing!!!

I purchased this toaster oven a few weeks ago because my oven has quit working. I don't think I will be putting out a great deal of money to get it repaired now that I have this toaster oven. I live alone and can easily use this toaster oven for all of my needs. It works great and is large enough to cook anything I need.

I bought this convection oven with great anticipation. When I tried to use the
toaster (test, no toast) It heated up and went on for 10 plus minutes. Why
would it not tell me it was done when I dialed up on the scale from 1-6
to toast it. I think this company Sunbeam is not the best and certainly
have a disappointing product. I am taking it back to buy another brand.
I can't imagine the rest of the problems but this was enough for me.
Bye bye Oster.
