Great water.... for about a week

Water is delicious and bottled quality, but it only lasts a week or two before it starts tasting weird and unpleasant. And replacement filters are expensive. I suppose if you want to continue buying filters every week or so, it's worth it, but it's a waste of money in my opinion. Had high hopes, and it did produce great water for like a week, and now it doesn't. Very sad :(

Poor Design

We've had this pitcher system for a couple of months, and we've replaced the expensive filter once already. At first, I thought it was awesome, and I do still like that it filters our water from 120 to 0. But, what's gross, is the water reservoir on top doesn't drain all the way into the pitcher below, so when you pour 0 water into your cup, you'll also get a few drops from the top of the unfiltered reservoir. GRRR It drives me insane. Also, when you pour water into the top, the white insert isn't tight enough, and you will get bad water into the pitcher, and I think that is poor design, because it allows bacteria to grow in the filtered water, and you will end up replacing the filter sooner than it is designed to be replaced. Brita is better designed, but doesn't filter everything out like zero does, so, for now, I'll stay with zero, and hope they come up with something better.

Review 5 for ZeroWater Filtration Pitcher with Electronic Tester ZD-013W
Wish we had purchased this way sooner. This is a great product. We have terrible water and this makes it so easy to have great tasting clean water. We used to lug out jugs to the store and fill up and with this we no longer need to do that. I gave it 4 stars only because of the handle. It has a seam on it that digs into your fingers when your holding it. They should hang that. Other than that we LOVE it. Worth every penny.

Review 6 for ZeroWater Filtration Pitcher with Electronic Tester ZD-013W
I am very impressed with this filtration system. The tester was very interesting to try on our current tap water as well as our Brita filtered water. It turns out that our Brita filtered water was not that much cleaner than our water straight out of the tap. The ZeroWater was just as it said - 0, compared to 118 with Brita and 138 out of the tap. I drink a lot of water, so it's comforting to know that it's CLEAN. My only concern is that I believe it filters out flouride which isn't as important for adults but can be very helpful in preventing cavities in children.

Review 7 for ZeroWater Filtration Pitcher with Electronic Tester ZD-013W
This product replaced a Brita system. I was concerned with my water's quality since I live in a older house with lead pipes delivering water. The Brita filtered water showed the same higher test numbers for solid contaminates as straight from the tap. The water filtered thru the Zero showed zero contaminates, what is what I was after. The replacement filters are expensive, I was prepared for that. I've only had this for a few weeks and use it frequently and the water still tests zero. I am hopeful for the life of the filter. It is still cheaper than health failure due to poisoning from water contaminates. I wish there was a way to get this filter to taps of poor folks that live in old buildings like me.

Only good if your water is already pure

My city tap water (Altus, OK) is absolutely horrible (TDS of 685) so this thing only filtered approximately two pitchers full (maybe 1 gallon) before the TDS meter showed over 008 which is the recommended time to change the filter. This means that the water will cost about $15 per gallon if you change the filter when they say you're supposed to!

The system seems to really remove more impurities than my Brita system, but the top of the pitcher does not sit tight. The handle also has sharp edges making it uncomfortable to pour.

Horrible

I had a PUR pitcher filter and saw the commercial of ZeroWater and I thought I had to have this. So I bought it and used it for about a month and I started wondering what is TDS what is ZeroWater certified for. So I went to the NSF's International website which is a company that tests filters to make sure that what the company says the filter can remove actually does remove those contaminants. And if a company says that a filter can remove something but the NSF's test's say it can't then the company can't say that the filter can remove that Contaminant and is not certified to remove that Contaminant. This is what ZeroWater is certified for: Chlorine Reduction - Aesthetic Hydrogen Sulfide Reduction Taste and Odor Reduction Chromium (Hexavalent) Reduction Chromium (Trivalent) Reduction Lead Reduction Mercury Reduction. The TDS meter only test for things that you can taste and inorganic solids. You want some TDS in your water it gives it taste and gives your body the minerals that it needs. VOC are organic compounds which that tester can't test. Which could still be in your water even after going through this filter. That is why I am going back to the PUR filter it is certified to remove more things from the water.

The filter is very good, works as promised. The pitcher is a piece of JUNK! It arrived cracked. I found another review with a similar complaint. We are now using the filter (awkwardly) with a pitcher we already owned. Sad, because the filter is worth having.

I like the fact that the TSD in the water is low. It is much better filter than others that I used to have. I really hate the lid of the pitcher. It is not very good and easy to fall off.
