I have bought 4 or 5 of these humminbird fishfinders and they all have stopped working for one reason or another. I installed them on my boat which is kept in a boat lift on the Santa Rosa Sound. The salt air is hard on the conections and the last one lasted just over a year. I think the humminbird line is about as good as any of the others in this price range.

I fish from a canoe and usually on a deep lake which at times the depth varies considerably. i also fish in the river below the lake and i use a trolling motor on my canoe and not wanting to hit objects in the river i bought this model and am very happy with it. it's functions are simple and basic and gives the info i want and more. i'm including a picture that shows water temp, depth and shows the outline of the river bank and bottom and shows a fish at it's depth...all while the motor was being operated and the boat moving. after buying it though i was confronted with where to mount the transducer on a canoe, luckily i found the Humminbird 7400871 AD XTM 9 Trolling Motor Adapter which mounts it on the foot of the trolling motor in seconds. i am very pleased with this purchase.
