Made of very poor materials.
Chipped, splintered and cracked easily.
Not sturdy at all. Don't be misled by the picture of all the kids on the play set. It cannot withstand all of them!!

We have had this set for a couple of months now. Two of my kids plus two friends use it daily. Three older kids can play in the fort area comfortably.
Assembly: One board was broken/split at the end but we were able to use a drill to work around it. The instructions are clear. No missing pieces. Some extra screws.
It looks like some of the stain is already fading on a couple of wood pieces. That's my only finished-product complaint really.
I love that the swings use those climber beaner things instead of S hooks.
Overall a great value.

We purchased this play set after quite a bit of research. Our grandchildren LOVE the play set and so do the other children in the neighborhood! The assembly took my husband, our son, and a friend 6.5 hours from start to finish. The directions were easy to follow, but extensive. There are 30 steps to put the set together. So be prepared to set aside a day for this set. Our family would definitely recommend this set. It is study, has many activities, and it is adorable. You are getting alot of play set for this price,we are thrilled with our purchase!

My Little Toddler Absolutely Loves It!

I replaced a swing with the safety seat swing (belted) for my 7 month old. She has loved swinging on it for 11 months. More recently, she has also gotten into the slide and the glider, but she really loves the swing.
Pros: good value for the money, cedar wood, lot's of activities, it looks very cute for my little girl (wooden roof, bay windows), moderately easy to build (took me ~3 full days alone, one day spent grading the surface so really 2 days)
Cons: light wood, does not feel super solid, the structural design is not the best, so probably not good for big kids to use (>12 yrs.)
I added some bracket reinforcement to tie-down the door handles (you'll easily see why). I am also contemplating adding some 4x4's to stabilize the structure more.
Do re-tighten all connections at the beginning of the following season, as I found significant number of bolts a bit loose.
I recommend against putting on a clear coat. Put on a solid wood stain instead to protect the wood from UV. I used the same product that I stain my deck with (Cabbot). I've had the stain for almost one year, and it still looks very good.

Nice, light-duty play structure

Overall decent design, the wood is very light and soft and will dent or scuff pretty easy. Structurally the unit is sound because they do a good job boxing everything. Fit was good and all the pieces were there. Assembly is pretty complex, I am fairly handy, and it took me a couple weekends by-myself to get it finished.
Be careful not to over-tighten the bolts, they are designed to dig into the wood to lock, but the wood is so soft, you can keep tightening until the bolt pulls right through the wood. Also, I recommend pre-drilling every wood screw. It takes more time, but it will avoid a lot of cracked wood. Try to get two cordless drills, one with a drill bit and one with a driver bit, this will speed things up.
Finally, get some good stain/sealer on it as soon as you are done. I used Superdeck clear and took about a gallon for a thorough coat. I'll be doing this at least once a year.
I have two girls, 4 and 7 and they love it. I'd be concerned about boys or kids much older, they could probably wear it out pretty fast if they really played hard on it. It's wood, so it can be repaired, but the sizing on most of the wood pieces is not standard dimensional lumber, so you might need to get creative.

The only con I have is that the directions were a little hard to understand at times. They did not specify if you were supposed to drill on the rails on the inside or out. If it doesn't specify go inside, learned that the hard way!

Two people and two days to put together and those stake don't exactly slide into the Arizona ground but the kids love it. may need to stain or weather seal it once a year but I hope to have it for at least 5yr.

I assembled this playset by myself. Being retired I went slow and easy and finished in a few days. To make it easier, you need to get everything organized. Lay out all the wooden pieces in like numbered piles . For the hardware, I used plastic kitchen containers and labled each with corresponding numbers. The construction was easy for the most part .Although I did it alone, two people are really needed to assemble the slide and attaching the swing beam to the clubhouse....My six year old grandson is thrilled with it . Watching him play on it, I would highly recommend it .

The swingset is great for the money. The only downfall is that hey want 400.00 dollars to have someone put it together for you. I opted to put together myself. It has taken me 24 hours to put together. 90% of time by myself. put a lot of the main parts together in my garage and then carried into my backyard for the bigger stuff. Directions can be confusing in certain parts but overall very easy to understand. All parts were labeled correctly. I haven't had any issue yet. The swing set is still not done but almost. My three kids ages 6,5, and 3 are all excited for it to be done for them to play on.

After months of searching and pondering, I decided that this play set was the right size for having something fun and nice that didn't take up my whole yard. While this set is exactly what is described in the product description, it is important to mention that it is a smaller set and the wood is chinese cedar which seems light weight but definitely strong enough for the little ones that it is meant for. I just got some weather sealant and plan on putting it on as it warms up. The company is very friendly and quickly sent out replacements for the parts I called about which promptly arrived. If I could change something, it would be for the slide to be all one color, but that is my preference. My husband and father-in-law assembled the set in 30-40 degree weather, and I assisted by sorting out all the hardware as recommended, which they both said made it so much easier. They did encounter some misaligned holes and a couple flukes but overall assembly was smooth and the kids love it, so it was well worth the chattering teeth and frozen fingers that they endured putting it together. It took them three afternoons in freezing weather and a couple hours the first day of sorting through everything and getting started. I'm sure if the weather had been warmer and the days a little longer they would have done it in one or two, but with freezing wind and short daylight, it took longer than expected. I think that the value of the set is excellent, I hope that it lasts. I love the bay window and the balcony. I set some rubber flooring under the play set with the kids table and chairs in there, they love it and have plenty of room to sit, eat, and move around with both of my 50 pound dogs joining them while waiting for scraps. My kids are 5 and 3 and they love it. My only big complaint is that I think that the swings could be spaced a tad farther from each other.

We assembled this in about 16 hrs very important to lay out and inventory all the parts before you begin and group the parts if you do this the job goes smoothly the instructions can become confusing as there are no measurements for reference so you have to rely on the illusrations but overall it is a great value we bought it for the grand daughter and she loves it so it was well worth the work it takes to put this togather i would reccomend this to a friend

We found the material very satisfactory, the pieces clearly marked for identification and the instructions were clear if you read them thoroughly and completely. We did find that the construction took a great deal more time than estimated in the directions. The final product is wonderful and beautiful.

Just got this swing set October 25 2012. Husband and I opened the two boxes which were quite beat up after being shipped by truck to the store where we picked them up....one chipped/nicked spot noted on one piece of the swing set, but it was very minor and only cosmetic damage....on opening the boxes and laying out the pieces, we realized we were very overwhelmed/under-prepared with only a day and 1/2 to complete this, so we called reinforcements. Took us and a handy-man we knew almost 12 hours to complete the assembly...barely in time for my daughter's birthday....the directions became impossible about step 6 or 7 in....they flip-flopped or something....anyway, we figured that out after about 20-30 minutes of time wasted on pondering the directions.....other issues we had...holes not lining up, and nuts and bolts wanting to cross thread. Took a lot of work to get it together, but our daughter loves it, and for the price, it is a very nice swing set. The wood is on the flimsy side of things, but looks nice and is sturdy enough for our daughter to play on at 3 years old, 38 inches tall and about 37 lbs with a couple of her friends that are about her size or slightly larger. Even I have been up in the playhouse portion just to be sure, and I am about 135 lbs at 5 foot 2 inches. We are going to apply a sealant to protect the finish from the elements. If someone at the company who makes this thing would have a rewrite of the instructions done, that would make putting it together much easier and would give it a 4/5 for us, so I would give it 3 stars...due to the instructions. Biggest thing....our daughter LOVES it...that is priceless!

Took about 11 hours to put together with 3-4 adults. Had 1 person reading insturctions and getting all pieces ready. All the pieces were there and clearly marked. Some of the bolts and screws had different numbers than stated in the instructions but was not hard to figure out which ones were needed. Very sturdy playhouse once it is all assembled, our 4 year old grandson is thrilled with it !!! Excellent product for the price !!!
