Sanyo Sanyo 37" Class LCD 1080p 60Hz HDTV, DP37819
The Sanyo 37" LCD HDTV provides plenty of options for DVD, VCR, Cable, Satellite and external antenna hookups. A coaxial digital audio output connects to a home entertainment receiver amplifier system for superb theater-like sound. The PC/Mac (VGA) input allows alternative use as a computer monitor. Plus, the Sanyo 37" LCD HDTV features a USB input, which allows Photo Viewer access to your JPEG photos from your digital camera.
Note: You must have a source of HD programming in order to take full advantage of the Sanyo 37" LCD HDTV. Contact your local cable or satellite TV provider for details on how to upgrade.

When its nice and new, they are a wonderful thing, but THEY ARE CHEAP ROE A REASON... Go to google and search this : "sanyo dp no picture no sound" and you will find many people have problems with many sanyo models of all sizes (the "dp" is the first part of the product model). Main Problem is this : with no waning, tv no longer has picture or sound and the green power light comes on and off. I have this very model with this very problem, I examined the circuit boards (no touchy tho) and saw no visible problems (no bad capacitors). My tv was produced in dec. of 09, but many other people experience this problem at various periods of product life which happens durring and after warranty periods.... and guess who has no warranty :( ....and no receipt.... and no tv :'(

I've been searching all over for a cheap solution to this problem, but it looks like i need to buy a new power circuit board.
SUGGESTION : IF YOU BUY ANY SANYO TV, GET AS LONG OF AN EXTENDED WARRANTY AS POSSIBLE! YOU WILL VERY LIKELY NEED IT! aim for 10 years, Buy 2 if they let you (lol)

I've owned Sanyo tube style TVs in the past, so when I was shopping for a flat panel TV I chose Sanyo. We purchased this TV in Jan or Feb of 2010. In the Summer of 2011 we had a power surge, and although my TV was on a surge protector, the main board got fried. I've taken it to 2 repair shops and they've not been able to locate a replacement board. Upon calling Sanyo I was told that they only have a 1 year warranty (which I was aware of), they don't sell parts to the public, and to call a local "Sanyo authorized" repairman. This repairman is 1.5 hours away and they want $50 just to look at this TV. Unfortunately, at the end of the day, I have paid $450 for a TV that was only good for 1.5 years. A true shame considering I still have a 15+ year old Sanyo tube TV that still works...

I have had this for a week, I am definetly not any kind of techy. But the picture quality doesn't seem as sharp as I would think it should be for this type of set.
Otherwise, I had it set up and working on my satellite connection in about 10 minutes! It was really simple, even for someone who is very technologically challenged!

purchased for my bedroom--found tv to have horrible clarity, especially during night scenes ot any darker tones. Wound up placing in my four year olds room as he is the only family member that can tolerate watching it and most cartoons are relatively clear. I suggest you spend another hunderd and get a Philips, Sony or Samsung.

I had trouble with the sound on the first one. I returned it and ordered another one. I couldn't be more happy, The picture is clear and the sound is good. The size is perfect for my unit. I definitely would recommend it.

I purchased this TV for my bedroom. The TV is hooked to just basic cable - no HD and the color is terrific. The quality and sound are comparable to that of the more expensive models. I would highly recommend this TV for any room in the house.

I have had this TV since Feb (5 months now)
THE GOOD
The TV has plenty of ports to hook up all your stuff. 3 HDMI, 3 A/V (red,white,yellow) a VGA for CPU, and even a USB port to hook your digital cameras and camcorders directly up to the TV.
This unit has been heavily battle tested with many hours already logged between the PS3, movies, and DirecTV. Great picture, fast set-up, lots of options to customize your picture, great price. The unit has a nice shiny black finish to it and looks stylish with no bright annoying LED on the front. But the best thing about it was the price.

THE BAD
There are no buttons on the TV, not even a power button, unless I have missed them, and I looked and looked (DON'T LOSE THE REMOTE!!) Thats why i gave 4 of 5 for the features
A couple times I have lost sound while playing a PS3 game (and only then) and had to turn the set off and then back on to get the sound back (maybe happened 4 times)
To switch inputs you have to keep pressing the input button, there is no way to jump directly to a desired input which is annoying but definitely nothing major.
The sound is decent but if you want a home theater experience your gonna have to get some speakers
All in all this is a super TV set and if your in the market to get one in this size and price range I would look no further

We are so pleased with this new HD TV. We decided to splurge on a new flat TV for our wedding anniversary, thinking it would be $700-$800.
Well, this set was such a bargain, I think I need another Anniversary gift ; )
Really beautiful picture, and so many adjustments can be made through the menu that it's easy to change for old movies. We received it within 3 days of ordering online; superb service.

I just unboxed this unit. I absolutely recommend this tv! I have it in a small living room and it looks like I'm watching a screen a lot bigger than 37". Nice sharp image, and vibrant colors. The audio is ok for me because I run it through an amplifier anyway. The feature I love is the multiple 'picture shapes'. My DVD-R normally shrinks the screen, but with Sanyo's feature, I'm able to increase the letter box image without losing picture quality. Fast delivery too! I'm in the midwest.

This product and Walmart.com has really delivered. Sanyo is a quality TV with a great picture and sound. It has plenty of hook ups for adding other components and the price is exceptional for all that is included with this set. I am well pleased with this purchase. By the way I own a 47 inch as well.
