We bought this for our daughters 5th birthday, and I am very glad we did. It is wonderful and she loves everything about it. Very sturdy and looks stunning. Well worth the price we paid for it. We got the shipment sooner then expected the order was split. Nothing was missing or broken. It took my husband and his father 12 hours to put together. I would have to say though that it was well worth the time.

I have had nothing but trouble since I ordered this swing set! First it didn't ship when it was suppose to so my son didnt get it till a month after his birthday since it takes days to put it together. Second we finally get it put together and a gust of winds knocks it over and breaks the slide off and the board that holds the swings on!! Cheap wood that split when drilling the nails! I did not expect the swing to tip over so easily to cause such damage!!!

I bought this set for my two girls age 12 and 4. It is a nice set for the price however the assembly time took my husband and brother 13 hours to finish. Everything was in the boxes except the bolts for the glider so we went and purchased them so we didn't have to wait on the company to ship. The only negative comments I have are that the instructions are not great, the picnic table on back is not very strong. My 12 year sat on it and she is under the swing sets weight limit it look like it was going to break. The slide is made very thin but holds up well so far. My daughter and I got on it together which is a little over the weight limit and it was fine. I would suggest a clear coat over the wood for extra protection as well. When my 12 year old gets on the swing she is 115 pounds the swing beam sways slightly. All and all this seems to be a really good set for the money. My husband is 185 pds and he stood in the playhouse to put the tarp on and it was fine so I think its a good set I just would watch the weight limit cause the wood is thin.

Great first swing set

We bought this swing set for our kids for Christmas. It was a great purchase. My 5 year old boy and 2 year old boy LOVE it. The assembly is very long. It took my husband and 2 other men 7 hrs to assemble. Everything is labeled and instructions are pretty easy to understand. Its just the process of going step by step. Definitely a whole day worth of work. Very worth it in the end. My kids had and still have huge smiles on their faces. We just purchased some accessories for it. ( phone, driving wheel, telescope, periscope, binoculars) So far we love our swing set.

Review 5 for Adventure Play Sets Meridian Wooden Swing Set
Truth be told, it took about 13 hours to assemble the playset once we got it home. The instructions are easy to follow as long as you lay out the boards by letter and number and keep the hardware in the proper bags as you use it. There was one place where the instructions weren't exactly correct but we figured it out and fixed it easily. The playset made my 19 month old son's eyes light up and since installation he has spent at least 3 hours a day playing on it. We did have to buy a piece of plywood to cover the section where the monkey bars attach to the top part of the fort for his protection because he is too small for now to use them. This playset was an excellent purchase for us and exceeded our expectations.

Review 6 for Adventure Play Sets Meridian Wooden Swing Set
I was disappointed the wood was not 2x4's. When more than one child swings the entire swingset rocks back and forth because the overall frame is not sturdy enough. We had to tell the kids to avoid swinging so high as we were concerned the wood might crack or force that section of the swingset to topple over. The swing was assembled according to the directions but did not feel the overall structure of the swingset was very stable. Also some parts were missing so we had to improvise and will have to request additonal parts through manufacturer. I would not recommend this swing to anyone who has plans to have more than 3 to 4 kids using as the same time

We purchased in 2010, thought I should tell that the slide broke after 2 years and the warrenty was for only a year. As far as assembley the boards were not marked the way they were suppose to be. Do not recommend at all.

We have not had ours even a year, and it is peeling and splitting all over. It is also leaning towards one side. But, it has been fun for my daughter and friends... I don't see this lasting another 2 years for my son... may have to get a better quality one.

Very pleased with swing set. It took my husband and father in law about 3 days only working on it in the evenings after work, so about 9-10 hours give or take. They followed the instructions step by step and everything went smoothly. There were no missing pieces at all, very excited about that. I would most certainly recommend this product. This made my twins 4th bday a huge hit. We love it!

Review 10 for Adventure Play Sets Meridian Wooden Swing Set
Good playset for the price

This playset is comparable to others that are much more expensive. It is well-engineered and sturdy enough for young children to play on. It would probably not stand up long for teenagers, but it is not designed for that. The assembly instructions are fairly clear and the steps are easy to perform. There are a lot of pieces to assemble, so plan to spend at least a day on it. It also will take a minimum of two people to assemble.

Review 11 for Adventure Play Sets Meridian Wooden Swing Set
This took 14 long hours to put together. My husband is very handy so he did this himself, and I helped a bit. He even included my 6 year old daughter in the project. The Slide does not have pre-drilled holes so be aware that you need patience and persistence. If you can't afford the really expensive swing set, this is for you. It's sturdy enough for under 10 years as described.

Like others have said, pre drill holes to prevent wood splitting. Organize all items before assembly. Instructions call hardware by letters that do not appear on packages so that was confusing. Took 5 hrs to complete with cordless drills and 2 adults. Only complaint is slide is an assembly instead of a molded plastic piece.

Review 13 for Adventure Play Sets Meridian Wooden Swing Set
Nice set, but be ready to work for it

Overall, I'd say this is a great set. It's solid as a rock once it's completely assembled, directions were pretty easy to follow, but it was extremely time consuming. I'm an aircraft mechanic, so I consider myself to be pretty handy with my hands, and it took me 16 hours from start to finish working by myself. As several others have mentioned here, I spent 2 hours organizing the wood (which was all marked to match instructions) and then an additional 14 hours assembling the thing. Taking the extra time to organize everything probably saved me a ton of time overall. There were a couple of snags in the instructions, you definitely have to use your best judgement as you're building it, and don't necessarily take the directions for gospel. For example, while assembling the walls, it tells you to pilot holes with a 5/16 bit, but you're using 5/16" lag bolts. I tried this on 1 hole, and as I expected, the bolts wouldn't grab the wood. I ended up piloting the holes with a 1/4" bit instead, and it worked out great. Also, the brace that the right hand handle mounts to above the ladder is a 1"x2", should be a 2"x4", it's extremely flimsy when the kids try to use it to pull themselves up. Also, the bench for the picnic area could use another support, with 2 kids ages 5 and 6 sitting on it, it looks like it wants to just splinter to pieces(it's basically just 3 1"x4"'s laying across end braces). But I'm going to just cut a 2"x6" brace to compensate for it, no huge deal. Because of the couple spots where it's a little flimsy, and the couple spots where the directions could be revised, I give it 4 stars. If not for that, it would easily be worth 5, especially for the money. Very sturdy set, looks really nice in the yard, directions fairly easy to follow, and the kids love it. I would definitely buy this set again. I'm more than satisfied with it, especially when you compare it to similar sets that cost twice as much. Great deal for sure.

It takes days to put it together, but it is well worth the time. The most time consuming thing is putting all the hardware together, make sure you have all pieces before assembly. It is a great playset.

It took us 2 days of putting this together. It's better for kids < 5 yrs of age but my 11 year does swing on it too. You do need to drill holes since not all of them are pre-drilled. We are happy with it so far and our kids love it. Make sure you stake it to the ground to reduce it from being a bit wobbly when the bigger kids swing. Overall- we are happy

My kids love this play set! I have to be honest... it did take my husband and brother an entire day to put this together and it still had some odds and ends that needed to be finished. They began working at 9:30 am and with minimal breaks were done around 8:00 pm. If you are willing to put in the time to put it together I think that you will be happy with the product. They said the directions were not that hard to follow. The only problem was that some boards are not pre-drilled so you need to do that yourself as you go along. We are really happy with the price and the product we received.

I'm not very impressed with the quality of the wood. A lot of the wood pieces are cracked and according to the manufacturer that is normal. Overall, not a bad design but could use more sturdy quality wood.

Bought this playset for my children (4 and 2). They love it. Great value. Used the free ship to store feature, ordered on a Tues evening and got the email to pick it up on Friday. This was put together by myself in one weekend. The instructions were clear and everything is clearly marked so even a novice can put this together. My neighbor has a Rainbow system and you can definitely tell the difference between the brands but for $500 this is a great deal. We have a small yard and this really works well in it. Would recommend to anyone that is interested in purchasing a playset for their kids and do not want to invest thousands of dollars.

It came in 3 long rectangle boxes. Lots of pieces of wood and hardware. It took me three days to put it together which amounts to about 16 hours all by myself. So set aside a good chunk of time if you plan to put it together. The directions were clear and precise and I did not have ANY missing pieces. The directions are nice because it lays out the project in phases. It was purchased as a gift for daughter's fourth birthday party.
