I was excited to get this product at such a great price. As soon as I got it home, I assembled it according to instructions, and began using it immediately. However, when I used it on my carpets (very low pile, mostly burbur rugs), it made a loud grinding noise, as if something was stuck on the brush wheel. I turned it over to check it, but nothing was there. I used it on the wood floors, no noise. As soon as it went on the carpets, the noise started again. I returned it to the store, but they wouldnt take it back. Now I am stuck with a $285 vaccuum that doesnt work. I do not recommend this product being purchased from Walmart, as they are putting them out in mass productions, and craftsmanship is lacking.

The Dyson DC14 Bagless Vacuum Cleaner I purchased recently has been a prayer answered.
After several purchases over past years (Hoover/Eureka), this Dyson is superior. I have been using it for two weeks now and all its features have performed as advertised. Would recommend it for anybody who is interested in dust control, pet hair (cat), and cleaning of carpets.
Fortunately, I was able to take advantage of a recent Dyson price discount which made the purchase even better.

I thought all vacuums were alike. Sure, some are more expensive, but they just suck up the dirt, right? WRONG! This vacuum picked up more dirt and dust than I ever expected. I was shocked to see how much dirt my old vacuum left behind. It is easy to operate and easy to empty after I'm done cleaning. The suction remains strong and consistent during the whole cleaning process. I'm sold on this vacuum. It is a quality product at a good price!

We have waited years to purchase a Dyson because of the cost, but now I am glad we did. In the past two years we have gone through three vaccuums. None of which has the quality of the Dyson we currently own. It is pricey, but if you consider what we spent in the past on other vaccuums that broke within a couple months, then the Dyson is well worth spending the extra money.

I love my Dyson, and will never own any other brand again. It does everything they say it does. The ease if emptying the cylinder is heaven. It has wonderful suction, trust me I put it to the test with 3 kids, 2 dogs and a husband...

Never bought a dyson before, did not want to spend the 289 for it, so I waited and bought it as a gift. Amazing vacuum, and being able to see what it gets up each time you use it proves its effectiveness. Easily the best buy in a while as far as appliances.

My cleaning lady has a Dyson DC-14 exactly the same as I bought and she says they are tops, she should know. I cannot believe the suction it has, while waiting for mine to come, she had to use her's on cleaning day, and what a difference my rugs looked so great. I liked the fact it has a 5 year warranty with it. I have a cat and dog and ran the wand over the furniture that the cat lays on occationally and it just cleaned it up so great. No messing around, in an instant the hair was gone. I have six rooms that need vacumned so it gets a work out.

Unfortunately this vacuum had to be returned. It worked great on hard floors, but it made a terrible grinding noise on our carpet and was difficult to push. I expected way better from Dyson.

The suction is great. I have always purchased cheap vacuums and just replaced them every year. When you have dogs in your home, you need a Dyson. This is so worth the money. I have a Bissel as well and have used it to vacuum my carpet and floor, then I have taken my Dyson and went over the areas again and the Dyson picks up so much that was left behind. The hose attachment is wonderful for stairs, the hose extends so far. You can do your whole staircase without having to lug the vacuum up with you
You will not be dissapointed, it really is a wonderful product.

This is the best cleaner ever and i would buy again, but there is no needto. just make sure you clean the filter every 6 months or it will lose suction for sure.

I am a Consumer Reports shopper. I purchased the second and fourth rated vacuums from this years current list and wasn't satisfied with either. Finally caved and got the Dyson and love it. We have all types of floors: hard, shag and normal carpet and this does great on all. Its exceptional on the hard flooring (which covers the majority of our home). The cord is super long which is awesome. The detached hose is super powerful and long as well, I can do our whole stair well (except the top stair).

After reading the reviews, and seeing that this was on sale, I decided to take the plunge as well. My other vacuum was constantly needing belts or filters, so, I thought I would see what happens with the Dyson.
It worked well. It was not as dramatic as some of the other reviews, but, it did pull out cat hair from our carpet that the other left behind. My wife likes the telescoping feature and says it is easier to push. I kind of do miss having a light on it, though.
The second time we used it, she noticed an unusual noise, and turned it over and pieces of the brush bar came flying out. It had shattered on the end by the floor selector. We called Dyson, and they were great. They sent a box via UPS, and picked it up after we called them to. When I talked to the repair center, the guy said that it was an excellent warranty, and it would be no cost to us.
So, I guess I am disappointed that it broke only the second time we used it, but, when it worked, we really liked it, and, once it is fixed, I am sure we will like it again!
What I did like was the warranty and the service we got from Dyson. I think that is a large part of the price, and that goes for five years!

While the vacuum may be a little heavier than another vacuum, It is incredible for picking up things out of the carpet and the attachments and going from the carpet to the hardwood. I love it and vacuum quite a few times a week!

This vacuum meets and exceeds my expectations of a bagless vacuum. I could hardly believe how much dirt my old vacuum had been leaving in the carpet, but the proof was in the dust cup. My allergy symptoms have improved now too.

I have been thoroughly pleased with my purchase. My only complaint would be how tall the deck is...I can't vacuum under any low tables without moving them all, which is irritating. That said, this vacuum does SO much better than my old one, and every time I vacuum, it picks up LOTS of stuff from my floor. I love the brushless feature for my laminate floors, and the hose stretches really far to do corners and ceilings. Beware that it doesn't stretch very easily, at least at first. I'm always afraid it will tip the vacuum over, but it never has...just pulls it closer to me sometimes. So glad I bought it! Thank you, Mr. Dyson!

I wanted a Dyson because my daughter has allergy problems. It was hard to convince my husband to pay so much more for Dyson but when Walmart had such a great price on this vacuum he was up for me buying it.
We have tall stairs so it is great to reach all of those steps and the vacuum doesn't fall over. Also it's amazing how much it picks up. I saw a few crackers on the carpet and ran the Dyson over it and it came back with a large lump of dust that I couldn't see. Amazing! Highly recommend it.
