Worth the extra cost

This keyboard is just about the last of the classic keyboards around. I've used this type of keyboard for nearly 25 years now. I have an earlier version at work that I have used for 8 years. The only difference between the old and new one is that the underlying board the keys sit on is plastic vice metal. It appears not to be a material factor relative to performance. The thing I like about this older style is that the keys respond faster and you don't have to hit them as hard. The keyboard is great for sloppy typing -- you can slide from key to key much faster. I tried 5 other keyboards, including some the new clicket-type boards. I hated them. This board is a bit more costly, but it was worth it to me.
