Innova Equus 3030 Innova Diagnostic Code Reader for OBDII Vehicles
The Equus 3030 Innova Diagnostic Code Reader helps you to keep tabs on engine light warnings. You can plug the code reader into your vehicle's onboard computer diagnostics port. It then gets access to technical engine information and retrieves trouble codes easily. It automatically updates data every 30 seconds and offers you an easy way to verify repair completion. This Equus OBDII code reader has an all-in-one LED screen display. Communicating with all OBD II protocols including the Controller Area Network, this vehicle code reader allows you to efficiently decode engine light problems. This engine diagnostic code reader works on domestic and import vehicles made in 1996 or later and finds out the reason for engine light illumination.

The first time I used this tool it paid for itself 4 X over. I had been given 3 different quotes ranging from $600 to $1,250. I found problem, purchased parts and fix the issue in less than 2 hours myself! Any auto, DIY'er that doesn't have one of these is wasting so much money.

It works on my MX5, Ford Explorer and Infiniti QX4. It is a good value for the price. If you hook the device you get a code. If you hook it to intenet it connects to innova and have to pay to get more information about the problem. You can similar information as easily on internet. Getting the code is just the begining it identifies a symptom and then you have to find what problems cause the code for your car and how to resolve them. The factory manual for the car usually have a section for code and what to check for. Depending on the car.

I purchased the unit based on the user comments. I am very disappointed with the software. As purchased I have found that it is not possible to quickly get an answer on where to look for the item that is causing the Check Engine light to come on. It would seem to me that the disc that is supplied with the unit could have included such data.

Set up and use of the software for your computer is not simple to load or use. The directions are limited and don't really cover the use of the reader very well. The real kicker is that after I eventually was able to get it figured out, the software is not able to identify the two codes I got on my econoline van. Even at their home page they were unable to identify the codes. Don't buy it.

I bought this diagnostic code reader to help in diagnosing an intermittent issue with my 2000 Jeep Cherokee.
On three occasions four-wheeling in Colorado at elevations above 10,000 feet, I had problems of my engine stumbling during severe wheel articulation on 4X4 trails. On two of those occasions, the Check Engine light came on, but not on the third. All three times the engine regained smooth running after a short time. No problems on the way home. Each time I tool it in to the local Jeep dealer, but he could not determine the cause.
I decided to buy my own code reader to see if I could get info when the failure occurred. The Equus 3030 was chosen because of it's reasonable cost. Since my purchase, the Jeep has not misbehaved, so I have not been able to catch a failure in progress. However, it does give me a correct indication of the computer and sensor outputs when the vehicle is working correctly.

A great device for reading codes. Requires a computer to interpret. Had to buy a program for about $59.00 to let me know what was wrong, then it printed 17 pages of stuff to tell me I had a loose gas cap. But it does turn off the check engine light.

had never used one of these before and it diagnosed a problem that had cost me a lot of time ,money and aggravation for months. four non needed repairs.
I followed the directions , it gave me the code for an oxygen Sensor fault.
I replaced the part and My car runs better than it has in a year. it was well worth the price and was more reliable than the mechanics. very good result and it also cleared the code and check engine light a promised.

this code reader does everything you can expect except it doesnt give definitions for the codes that it retrieves and displays. but that is ok because you can easily get the definitions for all codes online by simply Google searching the code. this item does emissions testing so it tells you whether or not your vehicle passes emissions. it also tells you whether or not your vehicle is ready to undergo emission testing. it shows you with blinking indicators or icons which inspection or emission monitors are not ready for emissions testing such as evap, o2 sensor, catalytic converter, etc. monitors.

I needed a code reader so i can repair my truck for passing the tough emission standards here in az. i shopped around and the two leading auto parts stores wanted 20 bucks more than walmart. this code reader has a cool feature that tells you if your vehicles computer is ready to take the emmision test or not. i passed emissions and will use this reader to help my friends. yeah walmart for saving me money.

I have used it on 2 cars so far an it correcly reads codes and turns out engine light. As long as problem is solved the light stays out. It was easier to use than I thought. The price was right and it came with cords and disc and readable instructions.

Having an older (1998) GM product with OBDII this is a great little scanner. The SES light is always coming on and its nice to first see what the code is then clear it so you don't have to stare at the light. This little code reader has brought me peace of mind.

Walmart sold this product at a very lower price, it did save me $30 dollars more compare to the other store. Just to have the shop to read this code it cost $80 dollars. It's easy to read to code and recommedation how to repair the problem.
Last year my car had the same "engine light" it cost me $150 dollars to get rid of the "engine light" after 3 months the " engine light" was on again. I did try to buy OBDII and found one at Walmart at a very low price, no one can bit the price at Walmart.
To Walmart thank very much for your product, it cost me only $5.00 dollars to repair the "engine light" of car because of the product you sold to me, once again thank you and I will be shopping at WALMART.
