This phone is great for a basic cheap phone! Voice quality is good, signal strength is good, calls seem to be reliable, have not used it too much yet but have not had a dropped call yet either. So far, I would recommend it.

Happy with this phone except that there is not a camera and it also lacks the technology to receive pictures. It seems that all phones have cameras these days so I was a little surprised. I do not use my phone much for photos so this is not a big deal to me, but it might be for someone else.

My son is an otr truck driver and with the old rip off company he used he could not get in touch with me in certain areas (like the whole state of Wyoming).
He stopped at the Walmart in Lexington Nebraska and purchased this phone and the unlimited talk card for a total of $85. It would have cost him $60 just to put another months service on his old phone.. With his old service provider he could not make or receive calls in huge areas of the country.
The associates in this Walmart set up the service for him. I know that this store, and a few others in Nebraska, are favorites with truckers because Walmart allows them to park there and shop.
I am going to buy one of these phones as soon as my monthly service is up.
Thanks Walmart, and thanks for providing my son a safe place to park.

This little phone will work great for the person who just wants to talk. The handset has good sound quality. The speaker phone is loud. But, for those wanting more from a phone, there is no camera; it will not MMS; and Bluetooth connectivity is very limited.

THIS LITTLE PHONE WAS PURCHAISED FOR FREE ON THEIR WEBSITE AND GOT THE SERVICE CARD, I CAN HONESTLY SAY IVE BEEN WITH THEM FOR A YEAR, AND THE CDMA IS BETTER THAN GSM BELIEVE ME, A GREAT PHONE FOR PEOPLE WHO TALK/TXT/ AND WEB SOME. GREAT PHONE EASY TO USE AND HAS GOOD FEATURES, PROBABLY THEIR BEST PHONE THEY CAME UP WITH A+++++ HIGHLY RECOMMEND WOUNDERFUL :)

I'm stunned that so many reviewers think this is the best phone on the planet. Compared to my old Samsung X427 GSM phone, the voice quality of this phone is very poor. The X427 is bright and clear while this phone is the exact opposite. In an effort to maximize the number of calls allowed on the network, it appears that LG has utilized extreme audio compression resulting in a barely acceptable voice quality. Based on a review of many cell phones in a recent consumer magazine, GSM phones overall had better voice quality than CDMA. If voice quality is a concern, stay away from this phone (CDMA) and purchase a GSM phone instead.

North Central Arkansas, Dec 2011: I like CDMA. I was a Verizon contract customer for 17 yrs. After 7 months this ST CDMA phone started randomly turning itself off. Customer service is maddening. Unbelievable. NEVER give them your plastic number. They messed up the reserve account, too. Just spent over 1 hr total on the phone with 2 calls trying to resolve the "offing issue". I will be without a phone for at least a week until I receive a new one. Can't do that, so I must buy another phone, port it, and keep the replacement as a spare. Customer Service just spent 20 minutes insisting that my 47 yr old house does not exist and that they cannot send direct to me. Unbelievable. I suggest that everyone 1) refill your ST minutes on your due date through your phone itself- don't trust them, they'll mangle your plastic. 2) don't buy the insurance, it is mostly worthless. 3) if you have a phone problem just buy another phone and eat your lost $minutes for the month. And 4) if you need Unlimited, GET REAL VERIZON Prepaid for $5 more, it is worth every penny. Traveling coverage is MUCH better and so is customer service. 5) ST coverage maps are lies, and significantly large areas are not covered. Check zip codes on your phone useage page to see if they're really gonna work. ST does NOT get all Verizon nor even GSM coverage. 6) If you need good coverage and NO hassles, get REAL Verizon- It is only $5 more and people actually speak American. Trust me. You will go crazy trying to deal with foreign ST customer service reps. Tomorrow I might get the REAL Verizon PrePaid and give the new replacement phone to a friend.

I read good and bad reviews on this service and almost didn't get it. But after AT&T calling me a liar and having to pay their high bill I decided to give it a try. I live 10 miles southwest of Cortez and the service is great. Its actually better sounding than AT&T. I havent had a call dropped either. The mobile internet works ok to. But I dont use it much.
The LG 220 phone is nice as well. It doesnt have a camera and cant accept picture text but thats ok. Thats what facebook is for. I actually found this phone is easier to text on actually way better to text on than the model I had at AT&T.

This is a great phone. Even though it is a down grade from my previous phone, it does everything I need it to do, and doesn't make the annoying calls when Im unaware. If you need a simple just for calling/texting phone, this is the one to pick.

This is a great - simple - cell phone. We needed a phone that would make and receive calls. This one does that in a nice compact design. It has a web browser but we haven't used it and don't intend to. It does not have a keyboard for texting but we don't need it. It works great for what we needed.

This phone is ok but I would not recommend it..It's just a basic phone. I purchased it for my grandfather and he didn't so much like it..25% of the time the phone dropped calls..if you live in a big town the phone works, but living in a small town you will often get dropped calls..and it runs off of At&T network

Replacement phone, bought exactly what i had before, why learn a lot of new when the old one was perfect. I love my Straight talk phone and service. This is the best cell phone bargain going and I will stick with it as long as you use Verizon as the carrier. I didn't buy an AT&T phone because they don't have good coverage in my area. The gal at the store was very good at directing me to the website where I could purchase the phone I wanted.

I love that it's loud enough to hear the person on the other end. I haven't had any complaints on not being able to hear me either. I wanted a phone and that was it. I didn't need a camera or a keyboard for texting, so if you're looking for a cheap, simple phone, this one is for you.
The only downside isn't even with the phone it's with straight talk. People apparently let there #'s go often because I get calls constantly for other people, always different names-very annoying.
