Enjoy smooth shifting with the Shimano Freewheel. Serious and casual cyclists alike will appreciate its "hyper-glide" design for easy, clean shifting under load. This six-speed freewheel screws on easily and provides an excellent set up for your drive train. The Shimano bike freewheel is a good choice for hybrid and entry-level mountain bikes. The bike freewheel is made from steel for long-lasting use.
My local bike store sells this exact model freewheel for $29.95. Make sure you have a freewheel and not a freehub. Do yourself a favor and get a removal tool (socket-like thing) for the old gears cluster. Mine was extremely difficult to get off, even with a removal socket and a huge wrench. But this new one screwed on quick as a bunny and works great. Be aware it is not the highest quality manufacturing, some of the teeth are different sizes and the angles and bevels seem to be haphazard. But its a great value.

Who would have thought that Walmart would sell a Shimano Freewheel? Well they do and it was by far the best price on the web with fast low cost shipping. Can't ask for anything more than that.

Replaced my 5- spd. cassette on my '70s Schwinn Continental. Went on easy. Looks great, works great. Haven't been able to get into giant 1st (lowest) gear yet. Need to lengthen my new chain by a few links (courtesy of local bike shop) and lengthen the cable adjustment on my new rear shimano derailleur. Great price, smooth operation ! !

A great, low cost upgrade for older freewheel 5 speed rear hubs. I have a few 80's era Schwinn and Peugeot bikes. This 6 speed freewheel slides right in without a problem. The extra gear is nice to have even though the overall range, high to low is the same. It is spaced for index shifting with an SIS deraillier.
