The Eureka 955A Complete Clean Bagless Canister Vacuum is ideal for cleaning the whole home from floor to ceiling. Electronic on/off brushroll picks up dust and allergens from carpets and bare floors. The pet hair and dirt that has been picked up from the floor is kept in the included flip-bottom dust cup protecting you from them. Great Suction, Horrible control

This vacuum is a great little vacuum, easy to empty and just keeps getting more and more dirt from my carpets that I THOUGHT were clean, (Guess Not). BUT
And this is a BIG BUT,
Having had major shoulder surgery and unable to use an upright vacuum because of the weight, I chose a canister vac to make vacuuming easier for me. Boy Was I wrong, the wand of this model is just as heavy as an upright and you can NOT control it. It FLOPS tot he right side and there is no way to fasten it to stay straight, therefore it is very difficult to persuade it to go in the direction you are aiming it. This design is to make it easier for storage but it make using it very difficult.
Pros: Suction, easily emptied
Cons: Cord Length, Ease of Use, Size & Weight, Design

great little vacuum

This is very similar to the canister vacuum I have used for years and had to get rid of because I could no longer order a new filter for it. As other reviews have said, it can be a bit cumbersome to handle with the attachments hanging there on the bottom of the hose but the suction is very good and if it lasts even half as long as the vacuum it replaces I will be thrilled.

It's a nice little vacuum. I like the suction and the ease of movement. Only thing that I don't like is the attachments on the hose because it makes it more difficult to get under beds and stands.. Other than that I think it's a good vacuum for the price..

Great Vacuum, but high maintenance

This vacuum works great, but it is a high maintenance product. I live in the country, have pets, lots of dust and dirt get into the house. Though the vacuum picks up everything, I have to constantly clean the dirt holding tank and the filter. The filter can best be clean with a air tank. Both need to be clean outside. But as I said, it picks up everything, for me it is worth the extra work in cleaning the equipment to do the job properly. But again, you can best clean the filter with an air compressor.

I was disappointed with the size of the dirt catcher: I had to empty it twice and my house is not that big. I was disappointed with the cord length. I had to stop vacuuming several times and plug it in to a new outlet to reach my floors. I was not able to vacuum the stairs well due to the length of cord. The telescoping wand and handle configuration made it difficult to reach to areas in corners and underneath objects as it was too bulky. Not able to make good use of small brush to dust vents due to the angle in which it is made. Motorized Power nozzle wobbly and difficult to control on the floor surface. I used the vacuum once and returned it. Poor design.

Finally! This vacuum is wonderful. It has a power head, which so many canisters don't have anymore. Mine came with a bonus bare floor brush. (which, if yours doesn't, it would be worth the purchase).
Be prepared to empty the canister often, because this thing sucks up everything there is!

As I have dark colored hardwood floors, two long haired cat and a dog, keeping my floors hairless and dust free is a challenge.
This vacuum cleaner meet my need and is easy to use, I was amazed at the amount of suction this cleaner has. I was not thrilled at how many times I had to empty the collection bin, but then, that stuff was on my floor and is now in the garbage. Small drawback.
I have RA and heavy vacuum or vacuums that are hard to handle are impossible for me to use, I had no problems or pain using this machine.
The only thing I would change is the "handy dandy" attachment placement. I can't get the head of the vacuum under my furniture and as I can't move them, I have to use a dust mop under these items and then either use a dust pan and sweep them away or then use the vacuum, so I will be finding a way to remove the attachment holder.
I would, without a doubt, recommend this vacuum to anyone who needs a light vacuum cleaner. However, as I do not have carpets, I have no experience with the power head.

Great product for the money. Very lightweight & glides along the carpet quite easily. The ONLY thing I could really complain about are the extra attachments--they sit on the handle which can be a nuisance b/c of them falling off now & then. Other than that, loving the vacuum so far.

I had decided to make it easier for my family, husband with back problems and children to vacuum since our upright Eureka is somewhat heavy. So I ordered this vacuum and one of the brushes was missing upon delivery. Called Eureka and after 5 days it came in the mail without any charges. I really haven't used the vacuum enough to recommend or rate it. It just seems that the cup needs to be emptied quiet often due to it's size. I did extensive research which vacuum to buy and did good with Eureka in the past. Needless to say that my last Eureka was rated better by "Better Housekeeping" than some of the $300 and up vacuums. I also found a website where you can purchase spare parts so we are going to replace some parts and pass our old Eureka upright to one of our children.

Switched to a canister vacuum due to arthritis problems in hands. Uprights were too hard to grip, push and pull. So far I am happy with this vacuum. The dirt receptacle is a little small but can just be emptied more often. I was very impressed with how fast this shipped out. We received it five days sooner than the anticipated delivery date.

I love this vacuum! I reviewed many others before buying and am so happy to have decided on this one. I have all tile floors a dog and cat that shed and a large family. This little machine takes care of it all. Very powerful with great attachments. It comes with a floor attachment that works great. It also works great on the area rugs we have.

Delivery was quick. First day I used, it was easy to put together. The vacuum cleaner has a tendency to go on its own toward the left and the vacuum belt broke right away. Went out to local Walmart stores (yes stores) to get the belts and not one Walmart sold the belts to this vacuum cleaner. Not even online. Found some online at another site but taking forever to get here. It does have strong suction and easy to store, and will continue to use, but not my top choice.

I could not believe how much this vacuum picked up. I didn't realize how much my other vacuum was not picking up. This vacuum does pull to the right, but with how well it cleans I can live with it. I love the extra long hose. I didn't put the attachments on the vacuum, because I felt they would be in the way. I love the ease in dumping the bag and cleaning the filter. I have been recommending this vacuum to my friends.
