Review 1 for EZIP Eco-Ride Electric Bicycle

Good value

This is a good all around bike. The cheaper SLA (sealed lead acid) batteries of the Trailz models are supposed to be charged after each use, making visits to the grocery store or friends kind of dicey (good for commuting as long as you can charge it as work).
The Eco-Rides' pedal assist works well, and I believe saves the battery. You can twist the throttle when you are pedaling for more power, but I have never found a need for it. On the other hand the pedal assist is a god send, since I am so out of shape. It is also forcing me to get in better shape (since I have to pedal for the motor to work). The Eco-Ride also rolls well. I am not sure how it compares to (currently cheaper) Via Rapido. The Rapido's 700 x 35c tires may roll better, but I wonder about their long term durability given the bike's weight.
The longest range I got from the Eco-Ride is 18 some miles (on six three mile rides). Unlike the SLA batteries, draining the lithium battery does not destroy it.

This is my first ebike and I did a large amount of research. First, Currie is one of the largest E-bike suppliers in the market. They will be around for a long time. Second, you do want an e-bike with of the Lithium-ion battery, which this one has. Its more expense for this type, but it’s worth it in the long run. The SLA batteries (Sealed Lead Acid), which are on the lower end bikes for around $350, have a memory, so charging them is a pain and they don’t last very long. The only problem I have is there is no meter on the bike to show how much battery charge you have left. I go about 8 miles a day round trip with very steep hills and I weight 190lb. I go about 7mph up hills with TAG-PAS pedal assist and have an average speed is around 15mph. I also ride the commuter train and they allow ebikes on board.

I got this bike last year and this is my first bike with lithium-ion batteries on it and I was really surprised how light it feels when I'm riding it. My other bike prior to this is the Ezip Trailz bike which has a steel frame and sealed lead acid batteries which makes it heavier by at least 15-20 lbs. than the ecoride. The Ecoride also has a 7-speed manual shifting system which makes it a great bike for pedalling even if you're not using the batteries or if you run out of battery power. Charging the batteries is very easy since you just plug the charger into the wall outlet and then you plug the other end into the battery pack for about 6 to 8 hours, and you're done. For the price, this bike really gives a great value for your money.

I have purchased MANY Ezip & Izip products so I have to let you all know that this bike is really a super deal for you buck. This bike is lighter then the least expensive model (E-Trailz) and it has the new Lithium Ion battery pack. I agree with the above listed review that when you start pedaling the motor kicks in so nicely that you rarely have to engage the throttle for more power. Great ride and Awesome Bike.....
