Play & Freeze Play & Freeze 1-Quart Ice Cream Maker Ball, Red
The Play & Freeze Ice Cream Maker allows you to make ice cream just about anywhere you go. The Ice Cream Ball creates 1 quart of ice cream in approximately 30 minutes, without any need for electricity. You only need to add ice and rock salt in one end of the Play & Freeze Ice Cream Maker and ingredients for the ice cream itself in the other end. Then have a good time shaking, rolling and passing the Ice Cream Ball around the room with your kids or friends. The Ice Cream Maker Ball, in red, comes with a recipe booklet, but you can always invent your own frozen concoctions using ingredients as simple as cream, sugar and vanilla. Great for parties, the Play & Freeze Ice Cream Maker is lightweight and made from easy-to-clean durable copolyester.

Only used 1 time and the only problem we encounteredwas the ice cream had frozen so hard in 1st 10 minutes, it very difficult to scrape down sides and even harder to get out of container. We had ussed an ice cream mix rather than going by the included recipes so this may have been our problem. We plan to give it more practice before we make final judgement. The kids had a blast making the ice cream.

We bought this for our grandsons' birthday, but the adults ended up rolling it around--not because the kids didn't want to but because it was so much fun. I'm going to buy one for our house too.
It takes a few times to get the hang of it. I would recommend letting it sit for ten minutes after the thirty minutes of rolling to let it freeze all the way through.
