<p Oster ExpressBake breadmaker is perfect for the person who loves homemade bread, but finds it to be a tad tedious. This bread maker machine can produce a delicious loaf in less than an hour. It has nine bread settings, which make it easy for you to make a variety of breads and dough, minus the hard work. The non-stick bread maker includes a removable aluminum non-stick bread pan designed to make family-size loaves. The maker includes a set of measuring cups, a spoon and kneading blade, which makes your worker faster and convenient. The family-size bread maker has a large glass window and an easy to read LCD screen. It also provides audible signal notification that lets you know when your bread is ready. The lid is removable and is easy to clean.
This bread machine is very easy. I was making bread shortly after opening the box. Their recipes are so simple for the basic white and wheat but also has many other kinds. I figured there would be a lot of prep for it but it all goes in the pan and mixes everything itself and off it goes. Most of the time it takes to make the bread is for the time used on mixing and rising. The only downfall I've seen is that it wobbles on the more heavy flour recipes. The good thing is that it smells great and makes other things like jam and pizza dough.

This is not my first machine. I found that you need to add a bit more water to your recipies and wath the bread in the begining of kneading. You have to scrape the sides down to make it all blend together. The breads I have done in this machine have turned out fine. It wouls probably be better if the paddle was bigger or there were 2 paddles. I like the way the machine looks and the display pannel is great, easy to read. Not bad for the price.

Review 5 for Oster Expressbake Breadmaker

This product worked great for me, right out of the box. Directions are very easy to follow. After producing the first loaf I had to wonder what made me wait so long to try out a bread machine. I am very happy with this product. I only gave it a 3 for durability because I have not had it long enough. I bought a replacement warranty for 7 dollars I believe and I plan on using the heck out of this machine.

I only use my bread makers for making dough, so cheap and simple is fine. I am replacing an old Oster, that still worked, but that I gave away. This one mixed really well and the recipe booklet had some nice ideas. I would recommend this machine!

Review 10 for Oster Expressbake Breadmaker
Excellent bread machine for the money

I purchased this bread machine in August 2012, and I have used it several times. There is a different button that you use to set the loaf size, crust color, and bread setting. They are simple, and easy to use. I have had no problems with my bread machine. I have read some of the other reviews where the machine "walks", but I have not experienced any of that. I have it on my kitchen counter, and it stays in place. I think that this machine would make a great gift to someone who has never made bread in a machine before. This is the first time I have had a breadmachine, and I absolutely love it. There is a recipe book that is included, but I got the majority of my recipes online. The first recipe I tried (which is now my favorite) was Cinnamon Raisin Bread. This would be a great starter recipe for a beginner:
Cinnamon Raisin Bread
1 cup water 2 tablespoon margarine 3 cups flour (I used bread flour, since it has more protein than white flour) 3 tablespoon sugar 1 1/2 teaspoons salt 1 teaspoon cinnamon 2 1/2 teaspoons yeast 3/4 cup raisins
Directions:
Add all the ingredients in order listed Add raisins in on the "add in" beep Bake on "sweet bread" setting
Time: 3 hrs 5 mins Yield: 1 1.5 pound loaf
This Cinnamon Raisin Bread recipe taste delicious hot out of the bread pan, and it tasted even more better when I used this recipe to make french toast out of it.
I strongly recommend this machine for purchase. It is a great value for the money. :)

I love my little work horse of a bread maker. It is very easy to use. I can easily compile all of the ingredients and get the machine set in the time it takes to brew my coffee in the morning. I usually make 1.5lb loaves of white bread, which bake up tall, rather than the long loaves sold in stores. It was pretty funny seeing it the first time, and took a little getting used to, but we've come to love the sizing. (especially my boys, who get their king sized sandwiches) Clean up is easy and quick. Very pleased with this bread machine and would most certainly purchase it again.

Review 13 for Oster Expressbake Breadmaker
Great machine!

I love my breadmaker! I've been using it almost daily for over 2 years now. I use the bake setting a lot. I have made sweet breads, dinner rolls, meatloaf, cinnamon rolls, green bean casserole, cornbread and more with it. Depending on what I am making, I just set a timer and test for doneness, as it doesn't always need the full length bake setting.
I like the expressbake feature too, great tasting bread in under an hour. I found that you don't have to buy the special quick rise yeast though. Regular active dry works just fine.
The booklet it comes with is filled with a wide range of yummy recipes. Regular white bread, sourdough bread, French bread, Whole wheat bread and more!
I have been very pleased with the durability and quality of this machine.

It wasn't as loud as I expected from what I read on the reviews. It is so simple to use! You just dump all the ingredients in the basket and you'll have a delicious loaf of bread 3 hours later or less!!!

Good Machine

I was surprised at the previous reviews. This machine works fine, I had to adjust the settings to my personal preferences. Crust is set to light because I do not like hard bottom crusts. I also add dough enhancer to every recipe. If using Gold Medal Bread flour I add 1 teaspoon dough enhancer to every cup of flour in the recipe. The basic white 2lb loaf did get a little too tall but was still delicious. I am not fond of the Tall loaf wish it were longer and not so tall, but the taste and texture is great. I did not add vinegar like I usually do to my home made bread because I wanted to follow the original recipe in the book as close as possible the only change I made was the dough enhancer which I have learned through years of homemade bread making, makes a big difference. My first loaf fell (no enhancer) the second loaf was perfect other than too tall but thats due to the shape of the loaf pan that comes with the machine. Making beer pizza dough now, going to have pizza for the grand kids tonight. Add dough enhancer set the crust setting to light and enjoy. This is a good machine for the price. You really just need a little enhancer or vital gluten to keep the bread from falling. I do not like bread mixes . If you do add a 1/2 teaspoon of vinegar it should be fine. Always add yeast last, and make sure its the correct yeast. Regular or Rapid Rise, there is a big difference. The only reason I give it a 4 star is because of the loaf pan, I would like a more traditional loaf pan in the machine but thats just my opinion. Been baking home made bread from scratch for years without a machine, so I am quite impressed with the out come of this little machine.

I have used this unit several times now to bake bread in.I have made white bread, sourdough bread, butter rolls etc. The machine pretty much does it all, you just add ingredients. I haven't tried to make jams in it yet. I was waiting for the spring/summer time when fruit is at it's best. Can't wait to try it out. My only problem with the breadmaker is that the bread is awful heavy after baking. Not sure this is the machines fault, more like the ingredient combo. If anyone has tips on baking a lighter bread it would be appreciated. Everything is easy to clean. Just make sure that you place this machine on a sturdy surface, because it shakes a bit during kneading process.

I have a few friends who love making bread so I decided to try it as well. This is the cheapest bread machine that I could find yet it does everything that I need it to and then some. I make bread twice a week and we all love it. There is just something special about knowing exactly what is in the food that you're eating. Great machine, great recipes, great price. Try it out.

Review 20 for Oster Expressbake Breadmaker
Wonderful after a Year of Everyday Use

This breadmaker is wonderful!! We make fresh bread everyday and have for the last year. We are extremely hard on our kitchen gadgets and the breadmaker gets moved around, bumped and mistreated all the time. I really thought it would be broken by now, but it is as consistant as ever with the look and taste of the bread. I love that the bread just slides out of the pan and the pan is really easy to clean. The only downside is the paddle gets stuck in the bread but for home/family use, this breadmaker is really a great value.
