We bought this printer 5 hours ago and I think its going back. Everything installed good and the wireless works fine but the reason we bought it was the no computer photo printing feature which is very dissapointing.
The photos it prints from the sd card turn out very bad and you cant adjust the settings for them, its the printers way or no way. I just wanted to print black and white pictures and I couldn't do it with out having a computer and when I set my camera to black and white they still came out bad. You can see the lines of the ink cartridge in all of them.
There is no owners manual either. The help on your pc is all you get and it would be difficult for some people without computer knowledge to use.
If your looking for a basic printer and don't need the "print from the sd card" feature then it would be an ok printer but you can find cheaper ones if thats the case.

i have had this printer for about a month, and i already love it. it prints great pictures, and best of all is that it's easy to use. the price was great because it costs $30 more in my local wal-mart, so i got a great deal by buying it online. i'm a casual printer user, i don't use it for any business use, just personal. if you're looking for a good at-home printer for personal use, i highly recommend this one. hope this helped.

The Printer was very easy to set up and install. It has all of the features that I was looking for: wireless, all-in-one, energy star, media card slots. It can do it all. I have only had it for about a week, but I love it. Some reviews said it was a very loud printer but I had a Lexmark before and this one is quieter. I would recommend it.

This printer is very easy to use, it was simple to connect it to our wireless internet. It comes with a CD that takes you through the steps for wireless connection, and the printer itself has a digital screen that prompts you to take the necessary steps for setup.
We have a large house and two laptops. I can be in the bedroom with my laptop on one side of the house and easily send print jobs to the printer on the other side of the house.
The picture quality is awesome, I am looking forward to printing photes at home rather than waiting for them to be developed. The scanner/copier is also quick and painless to use.
Before I bought this printer I had an old HP printer/scanner/copier that I had used for 10 years and I was looking for something that would be just as easy to use but with updated technology and wireless capability. This new HP printer is exactly what I had in mind.

I found the setup very easy, the printing quality excellent and the placement of the cartridges simple. I love that everything is done from the front. My only complaint would be that in using anything thicker then normal paper (envelope, card stock, magnetic paper) it will push the back piece of the printer out. This piece is in place to turn the paper back up into the machine for printing so that the paper is loaded in front and comes out in front, and also removable so paper jams can be easily cleared, but the piece is not secure enough to hold when a heavier gauge paper hits against it and it has to be held until the paper passes that point.

I bought this printer to replace my 10 y/o Photosmart 1115 printer. Wireless is Key. Bonus over my old printer, it's also a scanner/copier. Have 3 systems using the wireless, 2 kids have netbooks, I have a laptop, and we also have a 4th system, the home desktop, hooked up via USB. Kids both have Windows 7, laptop has XP, Desktop has Vista. No Problems setting up for any of these OS's. For Windows 7 just went on HP's website and downloaded the proper driver. The install script detects the Windows 7, prompts you to go to the site, and gives you a hyperlink to it....Simple. Print quality is great and price of replacement ink is reasonable. Hopefully this one lasts as long as my old Photosmart 1115.

Purchased my 2nd All in one today due to my old being out of date and not able to run Vista so I decided to buy a wireless printer. I really recommend the C4740 for home personal use. If it last as long as my old HP PSC 1210XI I will be more than satisfied. Setting up the wireless was easy and the use of the printer is just the same.

1.) Using windows program manager Uninstall all previous printers and drivers. This is crucial. 2.)Reboot. 3.)Setup WiFi on printer. some networking skill needed here but most can use the simple manager on printer. 4.) Control Panel /add printer and look for printer using the network IP address. 5.) enjoy printing

Absolutely impossible to install wirelessly. Only automated support from HP which goes round and round.Unable to change network settings other than wirelessly. So if you can't establish a wireless connection, you can't change the settings! User interface control panel only offers the most basic settings, advanced settings require a PIN# which seems to be secret and known only to HP. I plan on returning this printer, and am very, very disappointed.
