Very convenient piece of equipment. With the exception of sort of wimpy "power cords", it eliminates the need for many other pieces of cumbersome equipment in an apartment or small home. With some movements it tends to "squeek or grind" on the runners, so one might need to use a bit of wheel bearing grease to prevent premature wearout of the rollers and scraping of the main runners. Item came virtually pre-assembled in the box and took only a few moments to set up and be ready to use. Not suitable for "Bodybuilders" except as a warmup tool. Also, adjusting the height of the unit is somewhat awkward and almost requires two people to avoid minor injury. Once you get used to it , it is fine. You can buy this for under $150 or opt for the Celebrity endorsed "Total Gym" for about $1000 and get the same thing--DUH !!! No, thanks, Chuck, this will do just as well !!

Whoever gave this machine a low review must be working for Total Gym because this is a well built machine and you will not be disappointed purchasing one. Yes it doesn't come with a workout routine but come on folks you download several off the internet and even watch videos of people using the machine on you tube. You can't go wrong buying this machine that also comes with free puzzle mat.

I ordered this machine for my husband and myself. We both can't get enough. I now use this machine instead of going to the gym and I DON'T miss the gym at all! I do every exercise on this machine that I did on the 20+ machines at the gym. It is SO nice to have a machine like this in your home and the price is unbeatable. I researched every machine like this one and not only is this one the best value but it does the same thing as the $800 Total Gym. I HIGHLY recommend this machine whether you are a woman who wants to be lean and strong or a man who wants to bulk up. Perfect!

I have been wanting to add a Total Gym to my home gym for years but just wasn't willing to pay their price. I have lost 155 lbs and intend to maintain my weight loss, tone and keep active as I age, but exercise has to be enjoyable for me to stay interested. Purchasing the Weider 5000 has proven to be a great decision. It is fun, effective and well made. I love using it and wish that I had found it sooner!! The only thing that I am not happy with is the lack of instruction in either a DVD fornat or an exercise chart. Weider really falls short there. I found exercise demos on Total Gym's website and YouTube. I also think it would be wonderful to have Weider Home Gym accessories, such as Pilates leg extensions and such. If anyone is considering buying this equipment, pull the trigger now! You will be happy you did!

This is a great piece of equipment. I researched a number of similar products, including the Total Gym. Nothing came close in price to this. I've owned over a dozen pieces of exercise equipment over the years, and I am very impressed with the overall construction, strength, and finish of the Total Body Works 5000. I don't impress easily. This is an unbelievable value for the money!

Walmart delivered several days ahead of quoted delivery. Took longer to get out of the box than to set up. This product exceeded my expectations. Was happy to find that it supported my 270 pounds easily. Now exercising is a pleasure and not a dreaded chore. Thumbs up Weider.

I am very happy with this purchase and have already recommended it to a friend.
No bells, whistles and bows, just your basic machine but half the price of the competitor. It does everything I wanted. It was a quick set up, very little assembly, easy to use, and effective.

Do NOT waste your money on the Total Gym advertised on tv! Weider's Total Body Works 5000 is the same machine including all of the accessories at no additional cost unlike the Total Gym package. This machine is pretty sturdy compared to Weider's previous models. I'm am around 250lbs and pushing it so it is sturdy! It was basically already assembled. I only had to place 3 bolts for the base bar, however, it was difficult trying to extend the machine. Just turn it over upside down and pull downward until the knob locks into place not upward like the directions state. Overall it is an awesome machine.

Having owned a total gym for 12 yrs. The weider will give you the same workout for a lot less money. It is harder to set up and the bench doesn't role as smooth and is louder but not a big deal to me. I use this to start my day and what a difference it makes in how I feel throughout the day. If your serious about putting forth the effort n making good lifestyle choices give this a try.

This is a great gym for anyone on a budget with limited space.The resistance cords and varied inclines are great for any user. This machine is a great gym and is perfect for a beginner to an expert. I highly recommend. My only complaint is that it is a little bit noisy, but it is nothing that is not expected with a gym of this type. Site to store shipping was fast and professional! 5 Stars

Not as well polished as a Total Gym, but what do you expect for half the price? That said, it is better than expected and can give a good workout in 10-15 min. - largely because you can seamlessly move from one muscle group to another. The resistance bands work great. Recommended for beginner to athletic, probably only the most insane fitness fanatics would find this workout unsatisfactory.
