Our son is very strong for his age (20 months). Needed to buy a set that was sturdy and could take the 'beating'. This kitchen set is great! Takes a few hours to assemble but once finished, looks great. Our son 'cooks' on it every day. He loves it! Would definitely recommend.

I have 3 (27 month) old boys, they love playing with this kitchen set. The only negative I have to say about it, is that it was extremely difficult to put together. In the end, I realized that one of the pieces was broken, need to call the manufacturer so they can send a new piece. Inspite of the difficulties of assembling this unit, the boys really enjoy playing with it and any child that comes to my house enjoys playing with it as well.

I was looking for a few months for a play kitchen that would meet all my expectations at a good price point. I love the color and design. Quality seems great so far. Took my husband about 3 steady hours of assembly, but all the parts are numbered and organized well. My daughters favorite part I think is the washing machine right now. She pretends to wash her little tea towel. Great item for imaginative play, fun for the whole family! (By the way, my daughter is 37 inches tall, so the photos should be a good reference, if you are wondering about size/height of the sink or the kitchen itself)

"Some" assembly required

Thankfully, my husband put this together without any deadline so he could take his time. It has a lot of pieces and took awhile, but our daughter is very happy! She loves the "click" the dials make, the phone and it doesn't bother her that most of the buttons don't do anything. We've had several kids over since putting it together and they all love it. The doors do close securely with a latch (not sure what the exact name is) so I would recommend using the tie-down that is included to secure it to a wall to prevent it tipping over if a child pulls too hard. It is very sturdy and has plenty of room for play. The shelf in the fridge is not fixed so kids can pull it out but it's just a small board and can easily be put back in. I do wish the dishwasher and oven had shelves, but as they are they will hold a lot of the extras! We already had a bunch of accessories so we just added those to the kitchen. Looks like it will get a real workout! Definitely happy with this purchase and I am glad I didn't buy a plastic one!

2 yr old daughter loves it!

My 2 yr old daughter received this kitchen as a Christmas present. I was prepared for a long assembly time, but did not find it difficult. The wood construction is far superior to the plastic kitchens. My daughter loves to play with the kitchen. She uses it nearly every day. The lack of noises forces her to use her imagination to make sounds while cooking and cleaning and I love that. Overall, it is very sturdy. Unfortunately, after only 6 months one of the stove knobs has stopped clicking and my daughter is not rough at all in her play. Storage space is a bit light but I overcame that by using the mini Command brand hooks on the wall behind the sink and burner to hang her pots and pans and bought plastic baskets to hold all her play food. She loves the phone as it allows her to imitate Mommy talking on the phone. Two kids can play together in the kitchen but it is a little tight.

We got this Kitchen set for our kids for Christmas (2009). It is still played with almost every day and is holding up very well! There were a lot of pieces and it did take a while to put together like you should expect with any kitchen set, but it is sturdy and a lot of fun! It has so many features and the kids really love it. My kids are now 7, 5, and 2 and they all still enjoy playing with it. We have had a few problems. A couple door latches and one of the oven knob connectors have broken. They are just cheap plastic and didn't last long with heavy play. They still enjoy it and it works fine even with the broken latches. I plan on replacing them with higher quality latches from our local building supply store. The photos show the set after over a year of use.

GREAT KITCHEN!

I have been researching play kitchens for months for my sons 1st birthday. I didn't like the plastic cheap ones that are everywhere, but didn't want to spend hundreds on the fancy wood sets. This kitchen does have cons, (small counter space, narrow oven, washer, and dishwasher) We didn't want the battery operated sets (they have enough toys that make noise) But for the price, you can't do better. It's has great colors for boys and girls, and is well made. Very heavy for it's size, lots of parts. My husband is very handy and it took him 3hrs to assemble. I expect my son will get years of play out of this. Also if you like the Melissa and Doug play food keep in mind the cookie sheet will not fit, you will have to use another smaller one.

Nice... assembly is intense

I am a pretty handy guy with a bunch of tools and this thing took me over and hour and a half and a couple of moments of frustration. It's built pretty well and it a really cool little thing and my daughter loves it but it is not easy to assemble. The directions are very decent and the screws and other hardware are packaged very well and labeled just as well. It could have been much more difficult without the good packing and planning. It went together well, mostly. I hit a couple of snags with trying to get the screws in the predrilled holes but the angle was very difficult to work with. I did get it in the end. Also, I had one piece that was damaged in the box. I did a little work on it and managed to secure the broken part with screws from my own stash. It's a pretty solid little thing and looks very nice. It's heavy. It is some sort of pressed/particle board with a fake veneer on it so you won't want to get it wet in any way. But I am happy with it because my daughter is happy with it and I think it will last quite a while because it is sturdy enough to take it.

While my daughter loves to play with this toy kitchen everyday, it took my husband and myself hours to put it together. Hire a handyman for this job if you can. Otherwise, wait until the kids are asleep before you tackle this monster.

Very well made and child friendly as it should be. The door on the washer/dryer came to us with a crack in it. I called the "800" number and no questions asked they immediately sent out another one. I would say, a very good company to do business with. You do need to set aside a good chunk of time and patience to assemble.

I am a preschool teacher of 15 years and have put together my fair share of equiptment. This was pretty bad. Parts were not labelled, screws were not the right size, holes were misaligned... we did everything except chop down the tree & cut the boards. It took 5 hours to assemble (new meaning to "some assembly required"). It was much smaller than I had imagined and appeared online. I was a big fan of Kidkraft but this was not your typical rugged and sturdy kidkraft product. On a good note I thought it was colorful.

KidKraft Cook Together Kitchen, a Great Value!

I bought this kitchen for my daughters, who are both under the age of 4. It is a great product! Very sturdy, very colorful, and a great size for the 2 of them to play together. It's not too tall for my little one (under 2 years) and not too small for my "big girl", almost 4. The clip that holds the oven door closed was broken in shipping, but I called KidKraft and they mailed 3 replacements, which I received in about a week. Great customer service, great product!
