The bike was vary easy to assemble and is pretty light for a low end road bike , shimano components all work well ,, pretty nice bike for someone not wanting to go all in on a high dollar road bike . but i recommend a better seat ..

I bought this Bike some time ago...Rode it once (Less than a mile) then put it away and didn't ride it again for over a year. I recently took it out and was looking forward to getting into riding it. I rode it a total of maybe 3 miles before the wheels started grinding. I knew it was the Wheel bearings and took it apart to check them out. The wheels are junk where the Ball bearings ride inside the wheels. So I would have to buy new wheels and all to get this in shape again. It has all kind of other small problems with shifting and derailer front and back, problems even after tweeking it. Avoid this bike at all costs. I wish I had of ridden it longer when I first got it so I could have brought it back. Now I am out the money. Bike is junk.

Good road bike for the money

For the features, this bike is a pretty good value for the money. Comparable bikes at other stores ran at least $400, which was outside my budget. I had the bike assembled at the store, which WalMart will do for free if you arrange this - most components were assembled well and the bike only needed minor adjustments as far as the brakes and seat. One issue I had right away, though was the rear wheel - after riding only a few days cones got out of adjustment, then broke, and others have said the wheel quality is not that good. I took to a local bike shop and they replaced it with a better quality rear wheel for $60. Also, you will want to get a gel seat or seat cover as the seat that comes with the bike is very hard. I ride occasionally but so far the bike has held up well for past 6 months.

I wasn't expecting much when I first purchased the bike because it was very cheap. After assembling out of the box (very easy), I was able to ride it right away. I enjoy the look and feel of it and look forward to riding it more often.

I am very pleased with the GMC Denali. I wanted a Road bike to get started commuting to work but did not want to spend $1,000 for one at a bicycle shop. I am slightly more than 6 feet tall and this bike is a good fit. According to my cycling friends, it is the right height for me, but is a little short between the seat and the handlebars. I am sure that a professional fitting at a bike shop would have found me a frame that fits me better, but I am quite happy with this one. This bike does have a taller frame than most department store road bikes, so that helps.
The semi-assembled state that the bike is delivered in is acceptable, but there are some simple adjustments you can make to improve the bike. Here are the adjustments I made after the initial assembly: 1) True the tires (Find a video on YouTube) 2) Tighten the brakes now that the wheels don't wobble 3) Adjust the shifters according to the instructions that came with the bike 4) Tighten the head set (I wasn't even aware this one was a problem but my cycling buddy pointed it out and helped)
I have been riding the bike for a little more than 2 weeks now. With stoplights and traffic included, my 35 minute commute by car is now taking me about 50 minutes by bike (and I am getting exercise at the same time). I figure I am saving about $3 on gas per commute, so I should easily save the cost of the bike in 4 or 5 months!
Now for the one reason I have not given the bike a 5 star rating: When I am pedaling hard, there is occasionally a grinding/popping noise in the crank set. I am concerned that the bearing in the crank will fail on me prematurely. No problems yet, but if it is possible, I will update this review in a couple of months to let you know if the crank is still just an annoyance or if it has failed.

I have had this bike from Walmart for 2 months now and have ridden it dozens of times on varying length rides. Easy to assemble and worked great out the box. You need allen wrenchs and a couple of box wrenchs and pliers- I was using a mountain bike and transitioned to a road bike primarly for exercise.
The large fits me perfectly I am 5' 11" tall. and rides and shifts well. A very good deal for the price

Review 8 for GMC Denali 700c Men's Road Bike, Large
I ordered this bike online(free shipping to home), unpacked it, assembled everything, and when trying to attach the front wheel, I've found that the fork is so bent out of shape. I had no choice, but just took it to my local Walmart for refund.
Bad luck for me? I don't know. Too bad my local Walmarts(all 3 of them) do not carry this bike, or I would certainly buy it locally.
Oh, the bike is at 29 pounds when everything is assembled.

Review 9 for GMC Denali 700c Men's Road Bike, Large
I am currently training for a upcoming triathlon and I thought that I would buy an economical bike for it. The Denali is a good bike, and it was very easy to assemble. The only small problem that I am having is that I need to adjust the breaks on it. Great first bike for a triathlon.

Review 12 for GMC Denali 700c Men's Road Bike, Large
On paper the bike looked really good. However, when I received it and assembled it there were some flaws. First the bracket that the rear brake bolted onto was welded crooked so the brakes were not parallel with the rim. Then the side-pull brakes were grossly inadequate for stopping. The brakes at the handle bars did not have levers on the upper part of the handle bars so in order to stop the bike a person would need to take their hands off of the upper handle bars and go down to lower part to apply the brakes. This required an excess amount of time if a person needed to stop the bike immediately. The rear derailleur would hunt between gears and there was no adjustment to cure it. I would venture to say that if GM built there cars this way they would go out of business.

Review 13 for GMC Denali 700c Men's Road Bike, Large
This bike is stunning and eye catching especially with matching clothing but unfortunately, I received mine with a defective rim (front). Picked it up just yesterday, site to store, rode 9.58 miles then the front tire went flat. Had it repaired and checked at my local bike shop. The guy noticed a piece of metal attached to the rim that he thinks could've possibly caused the flat. He filed it down as much as possible, replaced the inner tube, and sent me on my way. I rode again today, 13.99 miles, then boom, another front flat. 2 flats in 2 days.....unlikely. I informed my local Walmart of the issue and I will be returning this bike tomorrw for another bike. Other than the tire issue, the bike feels, looks and rides great. Good luck with yours.

Review 16 for GMC Denali 700c Men's Road Bike, Large
I just rode the bike for the first time today. Only about 4 miles. I hadn't ridden a bike in 15 years, and never a road bike.
The seat and handlebars are a little uncomfortable, but I think that is just the type of bike this is. The seat is very narrow and because you have to lean far forward for the handlebars, all your weight sits on one small, narrow spot just behind your naughty bits. I found the breaks a little difficult for me to grasp properly, but again, that's just the type of bike it is. I think I just have to get used to it. I feel the pressure after a while where my hand rests on the handlebar, between my thumb and hand. Again, I think this is just the design of road bikes, which I am not used to. Also, I am a pretty big guy. 6'1" and 235 pounds.
The bike is great as far as feeling very light, the gears change smoothly, and it is a lot of fun to ride.

Bought this bike on February 22nd 2013. I'm 6'4 225 pounds and did a couple bike rides (nothing more then 2-4 miles.) just to get a feel for it. On March 1st 2013 I rode the bike from Livermore to Mount Diablo. First things first. IF you buy any bike from walmart. PLEASE. PLEASE. For the love of god, get the bike checked and double checked. Half way up mount diablo the handle bars started to loosing up( I had forgotten my alan wrench.) So I could not pull on the handle bars at all for any climbing(leg power baby) After the 61 mile trip this bike was very impressive (other then the handle bars.) I felt like it was a fantastic value for the money. (I don't have thousands of dollars to spend on a road bike, If you're like me you'll get pure joy passing those dudes on those expensive bikes on this baby.) The major con of this bike(which hasn't happened yet) I've bought 5 bikes from walmart. All of them had something break, or go wrong within 5 months. So buy the 2 year service plan. its worth it.

I recently purchased this bike online and did site to store. Everything worked out great as I have used site to store before. I looked at this bike more than a year ago when I decided to get back into riding. I am very satisfied with the style and features that are on this bike. It is winter time now and I only had time to put it together and there was a day that I was able to get out and ride for about an hour. There are some adjustments that need to be made with the gearing but I plan to take it to a bkie shop and have it done correctly. The ride was smooth and averything appears to be in order. For the last year I had been riding a 700c single gear bike that I purchased from Walmart also and I love it (I've put about 2,000 miles on it) but I really liked the look of this bike and am looking to get into different types of bikes and riding experiences.

Review 20 for GMC Denali 700c Men's Road Bike, Large
I am no bike expert, but in my humble opinion, for the money, this is a great bike! It took a little time to put together, but not anything complicated. The brakes needed a little adjusting, but nothing complicated. The pedals seem a little on the narrow side, but they will do for now. Overall a great bike for the money.
