I have 4 of these hooked up to a 1000watt@2ohm amp,custom box and they hit nice and hard,no distortion.They hit so hard i cant breathe sometimes lol.Not bad for $100 bucks for all 4 though

I recently made a set of home speaker towers. I used these Sonys because of their mildness and 4ohm. Seem to be great so far. Have had them hooked up over 2 weeks now with no complaints.

This is a nice looking sub for exposed applications. It has a good, heavy magnet and tight suspension. I ran 450W RMS to it and the performance is stiff and clean. You can't beat the value for budget minded consumers. They make these in larger sizes but this is all I need for my little Cavalier. I put it in a truck type sealed box and placed it behind my drop down rear seat. The performance is very good with the seat back up or down. It really rounds out the sound of the system and helps you hear the power of your amplifier.

I bought this sub and a Boss CE1250M amplifier to install in my Saturn sedan. I have an aftermarket head unit and speakers that didn't provide much bass but the addition of this sub and an amp really made my system come alive! The sub provides nice, tight bass and is a perfect addition for a low budget system.

I needed a temporary sub, and for $25, I couldn't pass it up. Picked it up from the store today and installed it, I know it still needs to break in, and for what it is, it sounds decent. Just don't expect it to be amazing.

For $25, I wouldn't have minded if this speaker was junk and needed to be returned. But it wasn't!
This speaker sounds fantastic and puts out plenty of bass for regular listening. No distortion at all. If you are young and want Rap or Dubstep shaking your taillights and windows, then go buy a big 18" sub.
The later model is available in store for $68.

Haven't had a chance to hook it up to an amp, but played it for a while in my room. Had my walls vibrating, and sounded good. My home system has a built in amp, but its not pushing many watts. Still, for the price paid, I think the quality is good.

i have since put both subs in a ported box, and they are still thumping awesome! i actually have another 2 of them coming in tomorrow to put in a second ported box :) i must say, for the price, i am very pleased with these subs!

Replaced a comparable competitors speakerwith this one. Bass is much tighter and just sounds better. Best to get it online, because the store will charge you about $50 more. :-( What's up with that Walmart? Don't go to a car audio store because they will charge you $150 to $200 for the same thing.

I came to the site not write a review but to compare Wal-Marts listed specs to other sources.. Sony states the same specs. Although they are equally vague on exact RMS range... What surprised me is, that I bought this same exact speaker in store today for 69.98, not that i had any intention of keeping it any but my sub died and I'm not gonna be with out while I wait for UPS. If I had I got it for $40 I'd probably keep it just in case. Shame on you wal-mart!
Anyway, for $40 bucks its not a bad sub, sound isn't as clean as I think it should be but as my amps RMS isn't "Rated" at 300 watts and I can't find the Range of this sub, I'll assume It could sound much better with a equally matched amp. For low budget if you buy it online its probably worth it!

We got a pair of these Sony subs a couple of weeks ago when they were still $28 each. I was a bit skeptical about the good reviews but still decided to take a chance and see if they would perform and sound better than the year old P1S810 Punch P1 10's which were purchased locally and cost almost 4x as much as the Xplods. The P1's had more power from a larger amp but still seemed flat and vague. The difference was really night and day. Bass is very tight, not boomy or loose, which is a definite plus since I tend to listen to different styles of music that need a tight and powerful thump, like classics from the 80's, rock, metal, techno, and electronica. They really don't disappoint when I feel the need to play the occasional bit of bass heavy music either. The subs are mounted in a sealed truck box behind the seat of my 1990 F-150 reg cab. I'm using an old Lightning Audio Bolt B250.1 mono subwoofer amplifier that has around 250 watts RMS at 2-Ohms which seems to be plenty of power for these subs. You can really hear me coming when I wanna show off which isn't very often. People think I have a couple of 12's until I show them what I really have and then can't believe how much I spent. Thanks for such an awesome deal! Don't hesitate, get them before they are gone! You will never find a better sub for the money, even used. I noticed that the price has gone up a bit since we bought in, but they are still an exceptional value and I would have no problem buying another set if the opportunity presented itself.

These subs hit more frequencies of bass than anything out there comparable. I have had 1 12" sub running 400 watts rms for over a year and still sounds great. Very well built subs at the best price you can find a total win win for me.

If you are looking for the kind of bass that knocks out your windows these are not the ones you want. If you are looking for something to bump hard and vibrate your lungs a little then these are perfect!! I am very impressed with this product for the money....good response and great range. Please do your self a favor and pay attention to the fact that although the peak power is 1100w the RMS is only 300. Hook up the right amp and YOU WILL NOT BE DISAPPOINTED!
