i had this for about a good 2 weeks now, and it squeaking right at the base in the front, sounds like the plastic is rubbing or something, it is really annoying, Has anyone else had this problem? Maybe i should take that area apart and reassemble it, Other then that, it really does give a good workout, i usually run outside in the summer to loose the "winter" weight but thought i would try this for days i don't get to the park, if i can get that squeaking to stop i would add one more star and would recommend it to a friend, i checked most of the review here before buying, didn't hear anything about squeaking, but now when i Google it i see complaints about that issue.

I wanted it for my home gym. Being on a budget it was the perfect price for me. Assembly was relatively easy and the instructions were step by step. Took about an hour. Missing one of the leg covers but it isn't an essential piece so I'm not worried about it. It ran smoothe and quiet for a week then it squeaks. Every time I step it squeaks. I'm sure once I break it in a bit more it will stop squeaking. Overall I love it. I would recommend it and tell them it squeaks hrribly loud. But with the squeaking and missing part I'm only giving it three stars. I used site to store shipping and it was days late. Don't use site to store...

I have used this machine to replace my gym membership. It is a little hard to put together but after that you will be happy with your purchase. It is quiet and you really get a great workout with this machine. I would definitely recommend this purchase.

i was super excited when i received my elliptical. i finally got it put together. (when it says you need 2 people to put it together, you REALLY need 2 people to put it together) the first use i realized it was wobbling. whatever it wobbles, ill get over it. Then a few days later it started making a terrible grinding noise. whatever so its really really loud.... ill get over it. THEN a few days later it stopped working alll together. i took the whole thing apart thinking maybe (somehow) i put it together wrong, and it turned out that the internal motor, i guess is what you would call it, had completely broke. the pedals would not budge to rotate at all. thankfully i had kept the box that it had came in and was able to return it to the store. the Associate was kind enough to also refund the shipping that i had paid for since the machine had broken. unfortunately i have to wait a few days to actually have the refund hit my bank. im sure not all of the machines wobble, grind and break so im sure this has been a wonderful buy for many others. mine was just not the case. i will be researchiing other stores for a replacement.

Great elliptical

I spent months searching for an elliptical. I'm a little overly safe in shopping that way. I bought this elliptical. First, let me say, it is awesome. I use it, I love it, it makes me sweat a bit, cry a bit, my husband makes fun of me a bit- and its wonderful. I really LOVE the workout and the machine.
That being said, I gave it 4 instead of 5 stars for 3 reasons.
a# it was cracked in a nonconsequential place coming out of the box, not much, but a crack. It's still a $300 machine- It doesn't effect use, but it was still there. b)It was missing two washers. Lucky me, I come equipped with a super awesome handy husband who was able to pull acceptable replacements out of his toolbox. They are .05 cent pieces at the hardware store so even if he wasn't so handy, it's not like I'd cry or haul that heavy box back to walmart to yell. c# it's a bit squeaky. I "run" on it with my headphones on and my karaoke on loud so I really don't hear the squeak. My husband laughs at me, I mean with me, I mean at me, #I am pacing as fast as possible in place singing in the tone of deaf and the key of off# so he doesn't hear the sqeak. A little extra grease could help. I think he actually forgot to put grease in one spot so that is probably the squeak. It's there but you don't notice it after a bit. No biggy.
I like the size, I like the machine, I love the workout. Best, I somehow got chunky #Someone must have been forcefeeding me cheeseburgers in my sleep or something, yeah, sure, that's it#. Anyway, I used to run-and I've walked for the last year or so. I'm pretty active. I tried running again, it hurt. That's why I came here. The elliptical is just as good a workout and my knees haven't taken a permanant vacation yet. I'm so glad I made this investment. We were considering a much more expensive Proform elliptical at Dick's sporting goods- it had all the bells and whistles #ipod dock, variable stride, etc#. I can honestly say I don't regret choosing the cheaper model. It is smaller, much cheaper and it gets the job done. I approve of this machine.
Also, I use the cupholder as my "ipod dock" and just wear headphones. I like the solitude it gives and the ipod is handy that way. I set my water on a a surface next to the machine so its all good.

I am older and out of shape and with only tension being adjustible it gets my heart rate going to fast where if the elevation was adjustible I would be able to get more excercise off of it and less time checking my heart rate. The monitor is very off, one minute says I'm at 80 and then says I'm at 280 then at 120. The LCD screen also has no back light so have to have a light on to see the screen. I had to go to the hardware store and buy washers that were not supplied to stop the handles and pedals where they hook to the wheels from sliding off. After I did that, the clunk that is complained about when away and I had mine professionally assembled. It is a good machine with some minor glitches, less that I expected but still giving that little bit or workout I wouldn't be getting without it.

I bought this elliptical back in September 2011, and one of the main-frame welds broke by February 2012. I'm far below the max weight of this thing, and my workouts were not intense (about an hour a day at an intensity of 7 or lower). The manufacturer won't replace/refund it, because it's past the 90-day warranty period. I bought a 2-year service plan with it, but they won't do anything about it, because weld damage is considered "physical damage", something they don't cover. Nobody involved with this product will stand behind it. Don't buy it, unless you're willing to gamble $300 on getting one that won't fail you.

It needs to be plugged in to offer resistance, and it doesn't come with an adapter, but you can use batteries. It fits cousy in the corner. Took me a good part of the night to put it all together and when you are putting it together make sure to grease up the joints cause it gets squicky when in use.
There are ten levels of resistance. It has six types of programs lasting for 30 min. that you can follow so you won't get bored, but if you really want to work up a sweat, warm up to the highest resistance level.

Elliptical was not very difficult to put together. The pictures made this process pretty easy. This was fortunate as the instructions and operating manual came in Spanish. I had to go to the Gold's Gym website and download English instructions and manual. The trainer seems to be a good workout product.

Very difficult to put together, spend 3 hrs on it and then some parts broke ( Some of the welding was not properly done). When I called Golds Gym to reorder the broken parts I only got a recording that stated that they were closed and to please call back during business hours. By the way I called @2pm est on a Thursday. Don't know if the Elliptical is any good I took mine back and got a refund.

Not sure if it will last or a long time, but we are using this 2-3 times a week, and hope the Elliptical lasts at least up to the warranty period. As far as the product goes, generally good quality for the price. I ordered the Elliptical along with rubber mats for store pick up. Both items were offered as a bundle, but they shipped to the store at different times and arrived at different times and I had to pick them up on separate occasions because Walmart will hold them only for a week or less. Very inconvenient. Moreover, the store had these items in stock so I dont understand why walmart.com orders cant be satisfied immediately with store stock and then replenished but shipping the stuff to the store. So much delay, shipping takes forever, as in 10 days or more in some cases, and this is not during holiday season. Overall, ok experience, will buy because of low prices, but will not hesitate to buy elsewhere if the price was a tad higher but shipping/store pick up was quicker.

Very bad product support

I did not notice that this unit is battery operated. It does not come with an AC adapter. Other than that, this elliptical trainer seemed like a good value, and if everything was packaged properly it probably would have been. My unit was shipped with a missing piece of hardware and the cup holder was cracked. Normally this would have just been an annoyance, since you usually just call the manufacturer and they immediately ship the parts. As with any other self assembly purchase, the instruction manual had a phone number and instructions to call them instead of returning the product to the retailer. The process is usually so quick and easy with most manufacturers, that I felt comfortable assembling the entire unit except what was missing. I called for 3 days in a row, several times each day to get replacement parts. The automated message each time simply said, "We are experiencing high call volume. Try your call another time." On the 3rd day of attempting to get through, I disassembled the elliptical and returned it to my local Walmart store. All together, it was probably less than $1.00 in parts, but the lack of product support made that enough for the unit to be worthless. I ended up wasting 2 hours assembling it, damaging my car returning it to the store, and of course lost the shipping charges (which Walmart does not refund). The only satisfaction I got out of the machine was cutting all of the wires inside the unit, so it couldn't be resold and leaving it mostly assembled for the return, knowing that it would be a pain for the store. I used to the money I got back to purchase a used one at my local sports equipment store. That ended up being a much better value, since I got a higher end machine and it came with all of the parts.

Smooth Assembly

I purchased this unit because I broke my Gold's Gym 300 THREE TIMES (the third elliptical I've gone through in the past 8 years) and my brother was unable to weld it back together the third time. I run for 45-80 minutes, 6-7 times a week, so let's just say I get my money's worth out of my workout equipment. I REALLY wanted to get another 300 because it had the adjustable stride from 12" to 16", and I prefer the 12" stride. I'm disappointed that Walmart no longer carries that particular model. I have to say that the 14" stride is a bit harsh on my knees and hips, but I figure that I'll get used to it. I've been without a machine for a week and was going stir crazy not being able to workout. I used my new unit yesterday for the first time, and after a half hour, my knees were beginning to ache a little bit. Again, I'm hoping this will pass once my body gets back into the swing of things. A week off of working out is a long time for me. In addition, I have to say that this unit went together smoothly without any hitches. The nuts and bolts package was a little flawed, as you can't see what the items are numbered without flipping the container over, in which case, all the items inside the package would have fallen out. If you just tear off the cardboard backing of the packaging and go by the parts list that's inside the manual, it's very easy. I purchased a tube of automotive grease (general use) from Walmart and used it to lubricate EVERYTHING. The last thing I want is a squeaky, irritating machine. It worked like a charm. The unit works silently and smoothly. I highly recommending taking this added measure. The tube only cost about $2 and is well worth it. I assembled the unit by myself, and it took about an hour and a half. I have a little mechanical know how, but honestly, it is very simple assembly if you have a little common sense. Ladies, you can put this thing together on your own. I promise. I would recommend this unit. I really like Gold's Gym products, and I'm hoping this particular machine and myself will travel as many miles and burn as many calories as my 300 and I did.

Simple to assemble, easy to use a little or a lot. You can vary the resistance manually or with settings. I just leave it the same and work for steady, even use. I like the wheels on the front so I can tip it an relocate it easily.
