The Black & Decker 6.5 amp 18-inch Electric Mower Model LM175 has a compact and sleek design, so it can be easily maneuvered in each and every corner of your garden. This electric push mower is powered by a highly efficient 6.5-amp motor. The blades are made from carbon steel to stay sharp and withstand wear. The blades rotate faster than the wheels so that mowing gets done faster. With the help of the single-lever height adjustment tool, you can adjust all four wheels at the same time for various height requirements. This electric push lawn mower doesn't require any oil or gasoline so there are no harmful emissions and it runs more quietly than gas powered mowers.
So far I have used it once. After my other electric lawn mower died after 24 years I had to find another. It is nice, light weight and did a nice cut to the lawn after not being mowed for 3 weeks. The only disappointment was that it did not come with a catch bag and had to order it separately.

Review 3 for Black & Decker 6.5-amp 18" Electric Mower Model LM175
I just purchased this Black & Decker 6.5-amp 18" electric mower model LM 175. I ordered it through Walmart with in store pick up ( that was the easy part) when I unpacked and put handle on tried it out, it ran great, Then I discovered, when it had been assembled at the factory, that one side of the bagging shoot had not been attached by the manufacture. I did not want to send it back, did not know where to take it for a repair. It has a warranty,I think returning it is my only option. Sam

This lawnmower is the greatest thing. I am older with health problems and I got this lawnmower because of the weight and ease of pushing. My yard is just about 20' x 10' so it works out great. Don't have to worry about gas or the extra weight that it adds. The lawnmower is lightweight and just plug it in and go. No yanking on cords forever or breaking fingernails. Works awesome for me!

I purchased this Black & Decker electric lawnmower to replace one of the same that I had used well over 10 years. It is light weight, EASY to start, durable and inexpensive. As a 55 year old lady, I found it much easier to use than the gas mowers because it is so light and easy to push. It's also a good choice for the environment.

Easy to use and light weight. Great for a small yard, had it mowed in no time. Only unplugged on me once but solved that by fastening the cord to the handle. Make sure you have plenty of extension cord and hold it up, I swung it over my shoulder and was fine then.

This is the first time, I've owned an electric lawn mower. Although they are nothing new, my grandmother used one all the time in FL @90 YRS. OLD. I have a fairly large yard and this mower cut's just like a gas powered. I am so glad I purchased this, mainly because of the reviews. You won't be sorry!

TOTALLY DISAPPOINTED

i bought this mower, with the expectations of being able to have it for yrs to come, as i have had year after year of difficulties with gas mowers, with their carburators clogging up during non-use. it seemed to work very well for my yard, although i only used it FOUR TIMES, and on the FOURTH TIME, I ran over a quarter sized stone, which it shot out of the side discharge and the motor then CEASED TO RUN!!!! i couldnt get it to run no matter what i tried...so i took it to our local store (husquavarna), who proceeded to take it apart and see that the MOTOR WAS BROKEN!!!! i cant tell you how DISAPPOINTED i am with this product, as i purchased it with walmart gift money given to me by my children for christmas....i have since contacted black and decker directly, to see if we can make arrangements to straighten this out. as of now....i wouldnt recommend it to anyone!!! sorry folks!!! :(

I'm a short, middle aged, single gal with health problems. Home upkeep is a challenge, and I'm always looking for "smarter, not harder". This mower is amazingly lightweight, easy to use, quiet and fume free. Once I learned the correct way to drag the extension cord around (I played jump-rope a few times) it got even easier. It fits between the A/C unit & the fence, and has gone through some pretty rugged "mole & chuck" areas. All wheels adjust simultaneously with one smooth lever. The difference between my heavy old gas mower and this one were night and day. I have a small property. A 50' cord works perfect for me.

The mower is light weight and easy enough for even my wife to push and maneuver in our small yard. the bigges problem is the higth lever. we couldn't even get it to stay locked in on the drive way. I finally had to use a bunggy cord to hold the lever in the noch. it works great once you do a couple of modes. The wire trick is another thing. If you are not care full you will run over it. All in all if the hight catch had more spring tention to hold it in place it would be an excellent yard dog. Sincerly Mikie R

I purchased this Black & Decker 6.5 amp, 18" Electric Mower Model LM175, for a small flat area in the back of my yard, hoping that I could keep this fenced section mowed down for my babies, Jack Russell Terriers! lol. I had been paying a young high school boy to mow about every 2 weeks or so, and that just didn't keep the grass down enough for the babies to comfortable play, or use the bathroom. I paid $20 a mowing, which was very reasonable price, for the size yard I have, and since I am on a limited income needed something cheap or reasonably so, and easy to use as well. I am not one to mow a yard, except for on a riding mower, which I don't have anymore. Being light weight, and not having to pull a cord to start, like on a cheaper gas mower, I thought this might be what I needed. So far I have mowed the small back yard area for the babies two times, first time I went slowly because I am not use to that type of work, lol. Second time, about a week later, I went somewhat faster did the whole area at one time instead of taking a break. A little harder, but did ok. The cord does get in the way if you don't watch your layout in mowing, but since I vacuum and have a long cord on my vacuum cleaner, I am use to a cord, so it turned out no problem for me really. I like it! It does the job, is easy to push, and cleaning isn't that bad, then I just store it in my basement out of the weather, instead of out under the carport. I'd recommend it for a small area, and for the lightness of it, for seniors at least on a limited income. Ladies it comes in pretty handy not to have to do the gas thing on a gas mower, and have to pull the cord to start. So far it is working out ok, hope it continues to do what it is described to do and does me a good job thru many mowing seasons. Not as easy to use as a riding mower for sure! lol, but a good little mower for the money, I think.

Review 17 for Black & Decker 6.5-amp 18" Electric Mower Model LM175
Great for the Lazy, Eco-Friendly Young Adult

I have a small lawn and live with my college roomate. Mowing the lawn is not usually a top priority in our home. It's a big deal and time consuming to get fuel/oil etc...
However, after using the B&D Electric Mower, it's a breeze. I actually don't mind mowing the lawn. I also purchased a 14 amp/3 prong, 100-foot Outdoor Lighted Extension cord for max amp and power to help the mower.
It cuts my grass just fine, and it's so nice using an electric mower, no fuel, oil and you will look like you care about the environment, or like me and just doing what's easiest ;)
I've tested it in wet/tall (6" in heigth) grass, at the back of my home (where I usually don't mow often) and it seemed to cut it fine. I had to tilt the mower forward to knock it down and then pull back to finish the job.
Some tips, make sure you get the correct 14 amp extension cord for max power. The Mower is light so I can actually pick it up and carry it down to store inside the basement of my house. Lastly, plug it into a GFCI (Ground Fault Circuit Interupter) the outlet usually in your bathroom or kitchen (The one with the test/reset butons in between the outlets). Do this because if you happen to run over your cord it kills the power so you don't fry yourself.
Bottom line, it's well priced and quite frankily one of the best purchases I have made in a long time. Makes me actually enjoy mowing the lawn and lets me do it quickly, efficently and saves me some money in the long run. You just gotta get used to mowing with an extension cord. Not a big deal but takes a small learning curve initially. Great Mower for the young, lazy adult with a small lawn.

I absolutely love my new Black and Decker Electric Lawn Mower! It easy to assemble except for the "covers" for the handle attachment at the mower base. The machine is quiet, I often say "I'm going out to Vacuum " and does an excellent job on my lawn, I live on the Oregon Coast and I have had rust and moisture problems with engine and other parts, but this motor is enclosed in the Plastic/Vinyl cover and is easy to manuver.

I am a novice when it comes to electric mowers. I have only had experience with gas mowers and I must say I was very pleasantly surprised at the efficiency of this mower. This is one of the best mowers that I have ever used! If you are thinking about purchasing this, don't hesitate, you won't be disappointed.

Tough on weeds, easy on me

As a female with strength and health issues, I'm simply thrilled with this mower. It was pretty easy for me to assemble (although pushing the handle bars together to get them in the body of the mower was a bit of a challenge, and there's no way I'll get them back out myself for storage purposes; men who design mowers have no idea that women who don't work out don't really have the right muscles for that sort of motion, and we all aren't always lucky enough to have a good, reliable man around to help us). This mower worked like a charm on my overgrown, very weedy lawn. And I didn't have to pull a muscle to start the thing, didn't have to breathe fumes, and didn't have to break my back pushing it around. I took the advice of other reviewers and got a 2-year extended warranty for $20. I only gave it four stars for value for two reasons. First, Walmart priced it $10 over the MSRP and $10 higher than everyone else, then claims that ship-to-store is free, but I feel like I paid for it anyway. Second, although the housing has a lifetime warranty, the plastic used to make it seems a bit cheap and is easily damaged, but of course that won't affect the operation of the mower. I would have been really impressed with the value if it had been priced about $30-40 less.
