good product, but first time into HD, etc. looking at features, this model had internet connectivity which I assumed was streamimg - after an hour looking finally called support and was informed it was only for bonus material and advertising stuff - disappointed - canoe without a paddle - whats the point. Box was covered with various stickers - all I could see was PC / internet - never dreamed it couldnt stream. Will keep it for the good features.

The one item that this player has that no one seems to mention is the ability to STOP and RESUME. Even if you stop and shut off the player, when you power it up it plays just where you left off. I haven't read where other players in this price range have this ability.
The player was easy to set-up and play. I have my player set up to my Onkyo s3200 home theater and the sound is fantastic when you play a dvd or blu-ray movie.

I purchased this player 3 months ago and was happy with it for the first month or so. I also purchased the Phillips 42" HDMI TV along with the player. Great picture and sound through HDMI cable, easy set-up, and price was right. If you buy any blue-ray movies (Lionsgate mainly) be sure to load a 1G SD card in the slot or movie will not play...this is for the BD Live function only on Lionsgate bluerays. Now after owning the player for 3 months, some bluerays are not loading at all and some I own that I have played before, will not load. I have tried several things with contact to Phillips service dept. and nothing works...the 90 days are up so can't return player...going to buy the PS3 tomorrow!

i purchased this product during black Friday sales for 140, including delivery and taxes. its has easy set up. however, you will want to upgrade your cables. i hear they increase the quality of the picture. The only complaint is that it takes long to process/read the DVD at startup. Its the first Blu-Ray player i've ever owned so i don't know if this is a characteristic of all Blu-Rays or just this one. other than that, for the quality of picture and price, im very satisfied.

I brought this at the $128 price tag. Setup was simple and with the Phillips easy link everything ran smooth with my Phillips 42 inch tv. This is my first blue ray player, I am thrilled with the quality of the up scaling to 1080p with dvd's. It makes me want to watch my collection over again. I can't say enough about this machine it's awesome. My favorite feature is the easy link, when I come home I just hit play, the player will resume where I left off, turn on the tv for me and if it were better it would rub my feet too. BUT IT!!

I have a Philips LCD TV and this player replaced a Philips DVD player. Both have excellent pictures and are easy to operate. Manuals are understandable unlike some mfr's. Philips players seem to load slowly but this is minor. Made two coasters(CD) while trying to upgrade the firmware. USE DVD blank ! Mine would not read the file from CD. If you like a player that does the job and are not obsessed with gimmicky features this is a great value.

The price on the shelf was $199.00. To my surprise when it was time to pay it was only $148.00. So far it works flawless and passed the 24-hr use test. I was going to buy the vizio. But I already own a Philips tv so why not have matching components

Philips for the most part makes pretty good electronics, & this one is no exception. With a quick firmware update,this thing was pretty much ready to go right out of the box! Its playback quality thus far has been very good. The good: Quality machine for a Blu-Ray beginner,Seems adaquate to handel the job! The Bad: No Netflix streaming,& No WiFi. To get a internet connection,you must run a ethernet cable! Bottom line: Good machine to start with. If you want WiFi,& Netflix,better spend about $300! this one is half that and does the job well!

AS soon as I hooked it up, popped in Transformers 2, I fell in love with the player. Just downloaded the firmware update and that helped out even more tremendously! Would recommend this product to anyone. Way under priced for it's quality!!!
